NFL Survivor Pool Picks: Week 14 Targets and Avoids

Myles Garrett - Cleveland Browns DST, Fantasy Football Defense Rankings, D/ST Streamers, Waiver Wire, IDP Pickups

The top NFL survivor pool picks for Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season. Kevin's weekly survivor league pool targets and avoids -- expert picks for survivor leagues.

We've gotten the holiday week out of the way with a broken-up schedule, but welcome back to our NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 14! With five (or fewer) weeks left in survivor pools for this season, you've done extremely well to make it this far! The work isn't over, as we have the last week of byes in Week 14, with the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers all on bye.

It was a week of some pretty big upsets, but for survivor pool gamers, none was bigger than the Rams losing a 31-28 shocker to the Carolina Panthers. I don't think anybody expected that result. Another upset, but to a lesser degree, the Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens 32-14 on the road in Joe Burrow's return. Other teams escaped with wins against subpar opponents, like the Broncos against the Commanders and the Buccaneers narrowly edging the Cardinals.

All season long, this article will guide you through weekly survivor pool advice for each NFL week, including a handful of teams to target and several to avoid each week. Survivor league strategy is a major part of winning your pools, so we'll help dissect each pick, with all angles accounted for. We'll be previewing Week 14 of the NFL season through a survivor pool lens, with more information and data points about each team to help guide you on your quest to win your survivor pool!

NFL Survivor Pool Picks: Week 14 Targets and Avoids

Let's look at the survivor pool pick recommendations to target and avoid for Week 14!

Top Survivor Pool Picks to Target for Week 14

Cleveland Browns vs. Tennessee Titans

*My top pick for Week 14*

This pick isn't for the weak of heart, folks. As I wait after the publishing of this article for the slings and arrows, it follows all of our hallmarks that we want to target for survivor pool picks:

  • A home team
  • The opponent is hands-down the worst team in the NFL
  • A massive strength against a huge weakness

The Cleveland Browns are indeed the home team, as they're favored by 3.5 points over the one-win Tennessee Titans, who are running out the clock on the 2025 season and will likely be on the clock holding the first overall pick when the 2026 NFL Draft begins on April 23rd, 2026.

The Titans have been abysmal this season, with the second-worst EPA per play on offense and allowing the sixth-most EPA per play on defense.

Meanwhile, the Browns have had their issues on offense for sure, but sport the second-best defensive EPA per play behind the Houston Texans. If there is one thing that has worked in Cleveland, it's the defense. Not just that, but it's going to be a game for the running backs as of this writing, with the weather forecast calling for temperatures hovering around freezing with sleet and windy conditions.

Among the players using the Survivor Picks Tool, the Browns have been selected over everybody but one team this week, so the groupthink among players has the same mindset here.

Cleveland likely won't be in play for survivor pool matchups for the rest of the season, with matchups against the Bears, Bills, Steelers, and Bengals to round out the season. If you want to save a group of teams for the home stretch of your pool, the Browns are a somewhat risky yet attractive play to make for Week 14.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

While the Browns are the pick with some level of risk attached to it, selecting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers feels much safer this week, as they're at home facing one of the worst teams in the league in the New Orleans Saints. In a week where there aren't a ton of dominating favorites, the Bucs are the biggest one of the week, favored by 8.5 points.

The Buccaneers have the fortune of getting healthy at the right time, with Chris Godwin Jr. returning as well as Bucky Irving suiting up. With Tampa Bay holding onto a slim NFC South division lead entering Week 14, this is a game to take care of business and put its foot down on the Saints. New Orleans is a bottom-5 offense in terms of EPA per play and has the second-worst rush EPA per game as well.

Tampa Bay is an overwhelming favorite in terms of survivor pool picks this week, with the majority of the remaining field looking the Bucs' way this week. To me, it's between the Browns and Buccaneers for plays this week, with Tampa Bay being the safer option of the two. Of course, if they've already been used, then the Browns (who are much less likely to have been used) become that much more attractive.

Other Survivor Picks in Consideration:

  • Washington Commanders (at MIN)
  • Seattle Seahawks (at ATL)

Top Survivor Pool Picks to Avoid for Week 14

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

In what has become one of the better divisional rivalries over the past couple of decades, the Baltimore Ravens will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.

It's pretty clear that these are two flawed 6-6 teams, but barring a tie, one of these teams will sit atop the AFC North in a prime position after Week 14. The Ravens are 6.0-point favorites at home, and Lamar Jackson hasn't looked like Lamar Jackson for most of this season.

Jackson is coming off one of the worst performances of the season, where he threw an interception, lost two fumbles, and took three sacks in a huge letdown spot at home against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thanksgiving night.

On the other hand, the Steelers are in quarterback limbo with Aaron Rodgers nursing multiple fractures in his non-throwing wrist, plus the offense has been stagnant most of the season.

This game feels like it's going to be a rock fight, and it's hard to choose either side. I'm not sure if the Ravens are getting historical deference here, being favored by 6.0 points, but it feels like this game could go either way.

I'm not touching either side. If you haven't used the Ravens yet this season in survivor, I probably wouldn't recommend them for the rest of the season, as they close out 2025 with the Bengals, Patriots, Packers, and Steelers on the schedule.

Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears

This is a matchup that was moved back to the afternoon timeslot so a national audience could see these two teams play in what is THE rivalry of the NFL, dating back to the early 1920s. The Packers are 6.5-point favorites against the team that currently holds the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the Chicago Bears. Perhaps that's a bit of not believing in the Bears to be a threat?

The Packers are usually money at home, but especially in the month of December, as they sport a 58-11 record in the friendly confines of Lambeau Field. The Packers could be getting healthier, too, with Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden on the cusp of returning for the Packers. As for the Bears, they've won five straight games and nine of their last 10 games en route to the top of the NFC.

With the Bears' run game clicking with D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, plus the Packers' running and deep shots downfield, it's going to be a fun game. But looking just at the over/under doesn't do this game justice.

Just like the Ravens being a touchdown favorite, the Packers' 6.5-point spread seems to discount what the Bears have done this season. I'm not taking either side here, but this game will be incredibly fun!
