Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Carolina Panthers
Ironically, Carolina Panthers rookie first-round wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan had a season-low 29 receiving yards on just three receptions in the 30-27 win over the visiting Dallas Cowboys in Week 6 on Sunday, but he made up for it by finding paydirt for the first two times in his NFL career.
McMillan was targeted five times by quarterback Bryce Young, which tied for the team lead with running back Rico Dowdle. The 22-year-old from Arizona scored from 19 and two yards out, respectively, to salvage his fantasy day. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned with his low-yardage output against Dallas, as it's been clear that McMillan will lead the Panthers in yards, catches, and targets when all is said and done in 2025, as long as he stays healthy.
He has a tough matchup upcoming against cornerback Sauce Gardner and the New York Jets in Week 7, but McMillan needs to remain in all starting fantasy lineups.
Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 17 of his 25 pass attempts for 195 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Thursday's upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. He also contributed on the ground, rushing the ball 13 times for an additional 58 yards and one touchdown.
The rookie first-round pick played turnover-free football and took just two sacks for a loss of one yard total. While Dart's passing yardage was modest, he made an impact by limiting turnovers and using his legs to make plays.
If he can find this level of success against a strong defense like the Eagles, his potential in the league is limitless. He's a QB2 with QB1 upside heading into another tricky matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has already been through the waiver wire cycle this season, but the rookie is heating back up and could be even more productive in the coming weeks. Fannin led the Browns with seven catches and 81 receiving yards in Week 6 against the Steelers. He was second on the team with 10 targets behind only Jerry Jeudy.
He seems to have formed a strong connection with rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, and the Browns seem ready to let Gabriel air it out, as evidenced by his massive 52 pass attempts on Sunday in Pittsburgh. Fannin played 80% of snaps in Week 6 and could be in for even more snaps and targets depending on the status of David Njoku (knee), who left the game and returned twice before ultimately being ruled out in the fourth quarter.
If Njoku misses time, there will be even more work for Fannin, although his target share is already impressive enough to make him a strong waiver wire pickup and potential play this week in a very favorable matchup against the Dolphins.
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty carried the ball 23 times for 75 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown during Sunday's Week 6 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also caught two of his four targets for an additional 11 receiving yards.
While fantasy managers will be rightfully intrigued by the rookie's volume and touchdown, there continues to be some concern about his efficiency (or lack thereof) as he was held to just 3.26 yards per carry against the Titans, bringing his season average down to 4.04 YPC.
Jeanty's road gets tougher in Week 7 as he faces the Kansas City Chiefs. In that matchup, the Boise State product is best viewed as a mid-to-low fantasy RB2.
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie first-round wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) is scheduled to undergo additional testing on Tuesday to determine how much time he will miss after injuring his hamstring in Sunday's Week 6 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Egbuka is fully expected to miss time, so fantasy managers should not expect him to suit up for next Monday night's contest against the Detroit Lions in Week 7. Tampa was already without Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (leg), so their receiving corps is dangerously thin now, forcing Sterling Shepard, Kameron Johnson, and Tez Johnson into bigger roles.
Emeka Egbuka's injury is a big one for the Bucs, as the 22-year-old has been one of the best pass-catchers in the league through six weeks with 27 catches, 469 receiving yards, and five touchdowns.
Tyler Warren, TE, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren caught six of his nine targets for 63 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The rookie has been quite impactful during his first pro season, ranking as the overall TE2 through six weeks. He has at least 14 fantasy points (PPR) in each of his last three games, which is one reason for his surge into the No. 2 spot.
He fits nicely in the Colts' offense as a physical threat in the passing game, and we've also seen him run the football from time to time. Fantasy managers should have no hesitation about starting him as a mid-range TE1 in Week 7 against the Chargers.
