LCK & LPL DFS Picks for 7/31/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends

Billy Hoffer’s League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL, and LCK slates on 7/31/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Hello, eSports enthusiasts, and welcome back to our continued eSports DFS coverage of League of Legends for DraftKings and FanDuel! Last night we saw DRX look like a bottom-tier LCS team out of the blue (much to my dismay). V5 took care of business but did a very unexpected sub between games that threw some people off. It was a weird night for sure.

We finally have the return of the LCK and therefore a return to four-game slates, which I enjoy so much more than the two-gamers. We have a few tight spreads tonight as it should be an interesting slate. As always, I am going to do my best to give you high-quality analysis and actionable advice for tomorrow morning's DFS slate.

Today I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK/LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Friday, July 31st, 2020. If you're not already, then make sure you follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid!

LCK Matches

T1 (-315) vs. KT Rolster

Both of these teams have been disappointing thus far this split. KT holds the advantages in both first turret and first blood percentage. T1 has the better dragon and baron rates, while KT has the herald edge. T1 has a slight advantage in gold differential at 15 minutes. I am going to be honest here, neither of these teams catches my eye at all in terms of fantasy production. I can't stand matches where T1 plays, as they rarely yield any fantasy production come out of their games. I will take T1 to win 2-1 here. I don't mind a Canna one-off here as he should dominate the TOP lane, but that is about it. Get your stacks from somewhere else and don't pay attention to this match, as I can't even make a case to full-stack this game up on either side in any way.

The pick: T1, 2-1

Top T1 plays:

  • Teddy - ADC
  • Canna - TOP
  • Faker - MID

Sandbox (-125) vs. Team Dynamics (-110)

Sandbox is coming off of a win and sit at 5-7, TD sit at 4-8 and are coming off a loss to KT. This match is big for playoff implications as both these squads are on the edge. SB has the first turret edge, while TD has the better first blood percentage. TD has slight advantages in all three of the primary neutral objectives (dragons, heralds, barons). Sandbox has better vision control. I think this will be a tightly contested series, but I lean Sandbox to get the job done here and cement themselves into playoff contention.

The JNG/MID duo of OnFleek and FATE are my favorite two pieces here as both of them hold Kill Participation percentages over 74%. Summit going up against Rich should be a good matchup in the TOP lane. I think SB takes this in three and I like the spot as TD tends to die a lot in losses. I would look towards a Sandbox small stack here but full four-man would make you pretty contrarian.

The pick: Sandbox Gaming, 2-1

Top SB plays:

  • FATE - MID
  • OnFleek - JNG
  • Route - ADC
  • Summit - TOP

LPL Matches

Royal Never Give Up (-550) vs. Dominus eSports

It's safe to say that RNG has not lived up to expectations this split at all. However, DMO is absolutely terrible and this one should not require much analysis. RNG has the edge in both first turret and first blood as well as all three neutral objectives. I don't think this will be a close series at all and I do worry about RNG winning too quickly here and not racking up enough kills to pay off those price tags. I like taking the safe sweep bonus at low scoring positions in this one. TOP, SUP, and Team Slot are my favorite spots to target here. RNG has an advantage in every single lane and it is not close. Don't overthink this one, RNG 2-0.

The pick: Royal Never Give Up, 2-0

Top RNG plays:

  • XLB - JNG
  • Ming - SUP
  • Xiaohu - MID
  • GALA or Betty - ADC (whoever starts)

LGD Gaming(-180) vs. Vici Gaming

LGD is coming off a tough loss to FPX and sits at 8-5. Vici just swept DMO, but still sit outside of playoff contention. Vici takes the first turret, while LGD holds the better first blood percentage. LGD has better dragon and baron rates, with Vici having better herald control. I like LGD to win here off the back of Peanut as I look to see him on a carry champion and will destroy either Aix or Leyan. The MID lane is close as Zeka has been good, but I think Xiye holds him here as I expect both Peanut and Xiye to make plays in the MID lane and keep Zeka uncomfortable at all times. I'll even say LGD sweep here 2-0. In the BOT lane, iBoy has looked great at times but the duo of Kramer/Mark has been absolutely phenomenal since pairing up with each other at the start of this split. LGD is my favorite stack on the slate, and I will have plenty.

The pick: LGD, 2-0

Top LGD plays:

  • Peanut - JNG
  • Kramer - ADC
  • Mark - SUP
  • Xiye - MID

Summary

1. LGD is my favorite stack on the slate, followed by RNG and SB.

2. KT would be my favorite dog, but I just really dislike that game in general.

3. Don't be afraid to play around with some different roster constructions and grab your big stack from games with lower kill projections as this slate could be another weird one.
