Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (7/17/20) - Draftkings, Fanduel Daily Fantasy eSports

Billy Hoffer's DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 7/17/20. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for FanDuel and DraftKings!

We have a four-match slate on Friday with two tight spreads and two fairly big spreads. I see a lot of upside within these matches as well as some solid lower owned spots. The LRR/SEA match is the most likely to go five in my opinion. But as we have seen before there are no safe bets in COD League. A sweep or a five-gave series is possible in each and every match.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings and FanDuel for Friday, July 17th, 2020 at 1:00 PM EST.  If you want more COD content, our premium eSports package contains user-friendly cheat sheets for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday slates. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: London Home Series (Best of 5)

  • Paris Legion vs. Dallas Empire (-475)
  • Seattle Surge vs. London Royal Ravens (-185)
  • LA Guerillas vs. New York Subliners (-450)
  • OpTic Gaming LA vs. Florida Mutineers (-250)

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played is as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. The Domination round is a good bit different than the others as teams attempt to control flag points on the map. These rounds can be bloody, but also can be relatively low-scoring depending on how aggressive or defensive teams get in this round. Players can earn +1 for successful flag captures during this domination round.

DFS Captain Considerations

Mack -  Copy and paste. Once again Mack comes in as a top captain play. The Subliners get a match-up with the Guerillas which based on standings looks lop-sided. But this LAG team has been scrappy as of late taking games from high level squads. They took FaZe to five not to long ago. However, they did get swept by Paris last weekend. If LAG can get this to four games and get we Mack on two hardpoints the ceiling is massive. Slight sweep risk but I am willing to take my chances with Mack.

OctaneThe Seattle Surge have been a very lackluster squad all season. But that has not stopped Octane from holding the second highest K/D in the league. He is a flat out stud who just does not have much around him. I like this series as one that should go four or five games and it is my favorite game-stack option on the slate. His FD price is way too low at 8.9k which will likely make him chalk everywhere. This is a spot to just eat the chalk and get different elsewhere.

SkyzFlorida is the hottest team in the league winning the last two tournaments that they played in. They took last week off and start this week with a match-up vs OpTic Gaming. I like Florida to win here, and while this game comes with some sweep risk, I am expecting OGLA to take at least one game here.

Owakening has been the best player on FLA as of late but Skyz has not been far behind him. He will see very little ownership at captain which is another reason he made this list. Skyz has pieced together four straight performances with 115+ fantasy points, including a 141 and 132. This is more of a GPP captain play for me.

Other captain plays: Wuskin, Shotzzy (sweep danger)

COD DFS Value Plays

Accuracy - He made the article last week and made me look pretty good dropping a 130. His price was raised a tad but that won't scare me off. At 8.5k on FD I love the upside he brings to the table. He posted a 120 and a 130 last weekend and has another chance her going up against LAG in a match they should win.

Zero - Another piece from this LRR/SEA match-up. He is very cheap across both sites and has quietly shown some consistency. In his last seven matches he has not scored below 85 once.  While also flashing some upside with a 120 and 106. He is not going to get you a 150 but we don't need that at his price and what he lets you do in the top range is well worth it in my opinion.

Other value plays: Fero, Slacked

COD DFS Stacks

London Royal Ravens/Seattle Surge: This match has stack both sides written all over it. I am fully expecting a five game series here. Octane, Slacked, and Apathy are my three favorite from the Seattle side. With Wuskin, Skrapz, and Zero being my three favorite from the London side. I would recommend getting at least two or three pieces from this match in your lineups.

New York Subliners: If LAG can just push this to a four-game series then NY has all the upside in the world. It starts with Mack obviously but his supporting cast typically goes under-owned. Temp and Accuracy are my two other favorites on this squad and their pricing is good all-around. This NY stack all hinges on that game four (second hardpoint) and if LAG can somehow make this a five-game series (which I do not see happening) New York will likely produce some of the highest scorers on this slate.

Other stacks/teams: Florida Mutineers (Skyz, Fero, Owakening)
