Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (7/1/22) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy COD Advice

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 7/1/22. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! It was a pretty good weekend we had last week, Toronto hurt us, and hopefully, that doesn't happen again this time around against Atlanta. We only have two weekends left for the qualifiers and every game matters at this point, especially for the teams that are on the bubble. Boston, Toronto, Minnesota, and London all being part of that bubble.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! We have a few great games ahead of us including Toronto vs Atlanta, Minnesota Rokkr vs. London Royal Ravens. Finally, in our lopsided matchup of the day, we have Seattle Surge taking on Boston Breach.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings on Friday, July 1st, 2022, at 3:00 PM EST. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Major 4 Qualifiers

Best of 5

  • Toronto Ultra (+180) vs. Atlanta FaZe (-240)
  • Minnesota Rokkr (-150) vs. London Royal Ravens (+115)
  • Seattle Surge (-550) vs. Boston Breach (+365)

Slate Overview

Atlanta seems to be a nightmare matchup for Toronto as Atlanta has beaten them all 5 times they have played each other and I don't see much changing. Toronto got handled fairly easily by London last week and barely made it past LA Guerrillas. Atlanta is still one of the top teams in the league and I just don't see Toronto being able to stop them right now. Their best chance is in Control where Toronto has been best but that is still only good for one map and that probably means a 3-1 win by Atlanta.

This is an interesting matchup. London looked really good in their first game back with Gismo in the lineup once again. Minnesota on the other hand had an odd weekend, beating Optic 3-1 and then getting plastered the next game by Florida. I have a feeling that we see this one go the distance and it comes down to who the better SnD team is. I give the slight edge to Minnesota and think they win 3-2. London more than likely wins in HP and I think Minnesota wins in SnD and Control.

Last but not least, we have probably the most decided game of the weekend with Seattle Surge who has won their last 9 straight! They seem unstoppable right now and after I witnessed Boston get smoked by LA Thieves again, I see something similar coming from Seattle Surge tomorrow. Boston's best chance of a map win is in SnD and even that feels like a slim chance. It is going to be chalky picking them to sweep, but I have a feeling they might be the only ones to do so on Friday.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is the K/D ratio.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy/Control rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20-point player sweep and a 5-point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Pred: He leads my Rookie of the Year race this season. He has put himself right in with the pros and has shown how dominant he can be. He has been a menace to society and player teams' fear to face. Pred has scored 100+ DKP or better in 11 of his last 13 games scored by DK. He has been a huge reason behind Seattle's 9-game win streak that I expect to continue after this matchup. He has a 1.06 or better K/D in all three game modes and that's with leading his team in engagements. He has the best of both worlds and the only downside is his price of 9,800$. He has scored well in games where Seattle has swept, most recently scoring 148, 125, and 123. All of which are very good scores especially if placed in the captain spot.

Cellium: He really should be up for MVP this year. Without him, this FaZe team would be struggling. He has a little hiccup towards the end of the Major 3 qualifiers but bounced back from that during Major 3. He also looked incredible in their 3-2 win over LAT to start the Major 4 qualifiers going +28 on 92 kills! He went absolutely ballistic and in their last time out against Toronto Ultra, he scored a 123, I can see a similar scoring line as a 3-1 from Atlanta is likely but a possible sweep is on the table as well. Cellium is by far the best option from FaZe based on its price and consistent output.

Other captain plays: Sib, Abezy, Simp, Attach, Standy

COD DFS Value Plays

Havok: He has been a bit all over the place but Havok as long as the whole team isn't getting smoked and 3-0 like they did last week against Florida then Havok has scored quite well. He has scored 120+ in 5 games in his short season so far. This game should be close and with that being said there should be plenty of kills to go around for Havok to pull at least a 100+ score line. And at 7,400$ that is more than enough to get value for his price. He has averaged 1.07 in HP, a .94 in SnD, and a 1.14 in Control. As long as Minnesota doesn't get swept, Havok should be in line for a solid performance.

Accuracy: I love Accuracy's price here. He has been playing so well throughout the last few weeks. It's been great to see such a resurgence. Since the beginning of Major 3, he has only scored below 90 in one match, that is the one they lost to Toronto at the beginning of Major 3. Since then we have seen multiple games of 110+. During the Major 3 Qualifiers, he averaged 1.03 in HP, 1.15 in SnD, and 1.18 in Control. This game more than likely ends in a sweep as well and all I see with that is a big scoring line from Accuracy. Great value play in this position.

Other value plays: Arcitys, Afro, Nastie, Priestahh

COD DFS Stacks

Atlanta FaZe: I think it's pretty obvious that Seattle is the clear stack, so let me give you my second stack. Atlanta has beaten Toronto 5 straight times this season and Toronto is now coming off a very tough loss to London. Atlanta has shown to be by far the better HP and SnD team recently and the only place I see Toronto having a chance is in Control. This is more than likely a 3-1 situation for Atlanta with a possible sweep if they clean up their control a bit.  As for the players, it's always Cellium over Simp and Abezy when Cellium is cheaper. He went ballistic in their 3-2 win over LAT and with him being the cheapest of the three it's all in on Cellium for me. After that Arcitys is fairly cheap and has been playing a bit better recently so I don't mind him at that price. Simp and Abezy I don't think you can go wrong with so I choose Simp over Abezy but only by the slightest of margins.

Other Team Plays: Seattle Surge, Minnesota Rokkr, London Royal Ravens(GPP)

Summary

  1. TLDR: Atlanta 3-1, Minnesota 3-2, Seattle 3-0
  2. Atlanta: All
  3. Toronto: Cammy, CleanX(cheap)
  4. Minnesota: Attach, Standy, Havok
  5. London: Gismo, Afro, Nastie
  6. Seattle: All
  7. Boston: TJHaly(cheap)
