Machi E-Sports vs. Team Liquid (-190)

Team Liquid comes in fresh off a first-place finish in play-ins to face the PCS champions in Machi E-sports. TL are the slight favorites here. Machi holds the first blood edge with the first turret going to TL. TL has heavy advantages in herald and baron rates, while Machi holds a higher drake percentage. I like Liquid to win this one, mainly through the MID lane with Jensen holding a 71% Kill Participation as he was an absolute stud in play-ins. Machi is a very live dog here though, as they have several players on this roster with international experience and won in a fairly strong region. Bruce is my favorite play on the side of Machi. I likely target a small stack from TL here or just a Jensen one-off.

Top TL Plays:

  • Jensen - MID
  • Broxah - JNG
  • Tactical - ADC
    CoreJJ - SUP
  • Impact - TOP

Suning vs. G2 esports (-145)

The 3rd seed out of the LPL comes in as slight underdogs to the LEC Champions, G2 esports. Suning holds the first turret edge while G2 holds a better first blood percentage. Suning has better herald rates and G2 has the upper hand in dragons and heralds. I think this game has sneaky high kill potential. I'm taking my personal favorite squad here in Suning. I don't see a way G2 survives in the BOT lane as Huanfeng will absolutely eat Perkz alive. Oh, and Miss Fortune is back. MID lane goes to G2, TOP lane to Suning. Suning is definitely my favorite GPP stack on the slate. Start your stack with Huanfeng, I like adding Sofm as he holds a 70% Kill Participation.

Top Suning Plays:

  • Huanfeng - ADC
  • Sofm - JNG
  • Angel - MID
  • Bin - TOP
  • SwordArt - SUP

Rogue vs. DAMWON Gaming (-500)

DAMWON simply outmatches and outclasses Rogue in every lane. I am expecting DAMWON to be somewhat chalky here and honestly, I worry about their upside in this match-up. Yes, they have the advantage in every statistical category, but, Rogue will not try to force any fights as we know they play very slow. They likely just try to stall out to the late game while DAMWON just builds up a gold lead. However, ShowMaker is an elite play and always provides a very safe floor as he holds a 71% Kill Participation.

Top DWG Plays:

  • ShowMaker - MID
  • Canyon - JNG
  • BeryL - SUP
  • Ghost - ADC

Talon Esports vs. JD Gaming (-500)

JDG comes in as heavy favorites and likely the other chalkiest spot on the slate. JDG owns the better first turret and first blood rates. Talon has very minor advantages in all three neutral objectives. Of the two chalk heavy favorites, JDG is the one I prefer over DWG. LokeN leads this team with a KP of over 70%. I do not mind JDG as a full-stack at all, but just know that it will likely be chalky. My favorite small stack is taking the BOT lane of LokeN and LvMao.

Top JDG Plays:

  • Kanavi - JNG
  • LokeN - ADC
  • LvMao - SUP
  • Zoom - TOP

TSM vs. Gen. G (-290)

This spread is a bit confusing to me, as I think this should be more like -750...  Anyways, Gen. G holds advantages om all three of the neutral objectives and have the edge in every lane match-up. TSM only averages 13 deaths per loss, so I would be cautious about fully stacking Gen. G on this slate. Ruler is an elite play in any format as he always possesses slate breaking upside.

Top Gen. G Plays:

  • Ruler - ADC
  • Clid - JNG
  • Bdd - MID
  • Rascal - TOP

LGD Gaming vs. Fnatic (-160)

I am completely blown away that Fnatic is the FAVORITE in this one. The MID lane match-up is so insanely lopsided, Xiye will destroy Nemesis. LGD holds the better first turret rate with Fnatic having a better first blood percentage. LGD will get a big early lead here like they did all play-ins, as long as they don't throw, they should be able to snowball into the mid to late game. I also don't really think Fnatic is good at playing from behind or good in general. LGD is one of my favorite stacks on the slate as Fnatic averages just over 20 deaths per loss.

Top LGD Plays:

  • Xiye - MID
    Peanut - JNG
  • Mark - SUP
  • Kramer - ADC

Summary

  1.  Summary: TL, Suning, DWG, JDG, Gen. G, and LGD all win.
  2.  I would guess we see DWG and JDG as the two chalkiest spots on the slate, I will be eating some of the JDG chalk, but I worry about DWG paying off their price tags against a very slow Rogue team.
  3. LGD is one of my favorite spots on the slate, as Fnatic averages a smooth 20 deaths per loss.
