Clemson Wide Receiver Tristan Smith Granted 2026 Eligibility
Clemson wide receiver Tristan Smith was granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA through Pickens County Court, giving him a fifth year of college football eligibility. Smith's initial waiver to the NCAA was denied, leading him to go through the judicial process to gain an extra year of eligibility. Smith spent two years at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas before transferring to Southeast Missouri State in 2024, where he stood out. He recorded 24 catches for 239 yards and a touchdown in his debut season at Clemson in 2025. He is now set to play the 2026 season on a temporary injunction.
