MLB Home Run Player Prop Bets Today: Best Hitter HR Props (8/12/2025)

Ivan Herrera - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Casey Wilson's best MLB player prop bets for today (8/12/2025). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Ivan Herrera, Shohei Ohtani, and Shea Langeliers.

We have 15 games this Tuesday in MLB. What better day for a home run article than "Dinger Tuesday?" We will be attacking my three favorite spots for home runs today, including great environments for hitting because of matchups, park factor, and favorable weather conditions.

I will provide my three favorite home run bets on today’s slate. I do not recommend betting any more than three home runs, as it will be tough to sustain a bankroll. My favorite way to bet home runs is to round-robin them, which I will do tonight. I've put a small unit size on these, but I want the opportunity to cash in bigger if more than one home run is hit.

Below, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Tuesday, August 122025. Odds for each pick are from FanDuel Sportsbook and are subject to change throughout the day. Remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks for the best price so you can get more value on your wagers. Odds can vary greatly from one sportsbook to another.

MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (8/12/2025)

Here are all the hitters I'll cover for HR props on Tuesday, August 12:

Ivan Herrera OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+500 FanDuel)

The Colorado Rockies will play their second game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. It will be in the upper 80s at first pitch, which is good hitting weather in the Midwest for the long ball. The wind won’t be much of a factor in this spot.

Kyle Freeland will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and the southpaw has struggled this season. Freeland has a 4.30 xFIP, 1.32 HR/9, 34.0% FB, and a 41.8% Hard Hit in 2025. Over the last thirty days, Freeland has particularly struggled with the long ball. During that span, he has allowed a 3.20 HR/9, 44.1% FB, and a 60.9% Hard Hit.

The Hard Hit% is enough to bet the house on this spot, but digging even deeper, right-handed bats have crushed him this season. He is allowing a .314 AVG, .192 ISO, .506 SLG, and 15 home runs to the split in 2025. He has allowed 20 doubles to righties as well.

There are two right-handed hitters in this lineup who demolish left-handed pitching, and that is Ivan Herrera and Willson Contreras. I am going to side with Herrera because, frankly, he has been one of the best hitters in the big leagues against the split.

Herrera is slashing .344/.468/.754 with a 1.222 OPS and seven home runs against southpaws this season. He is red hot against the split as well. Over his last 22 plate appearances, he is slashing .375/.500/.813 with a 1.313 OPS. Talk about a lefty masher.

As you know, when I write this article, I love to dig into pitch mix to solidify my home run bets. It is never the deciding factor, but it is nice to know that our hitter hits the mix well of the opposing pitcher.

Freeland has allowed 12 of his 15 home runs to right-handed hitters off of two pitches. His four-seamer has allowed a .609 SLG and seven home runs, and his cutter has allowed a .697 SLG and five home runs.

Herrera hits both of these pitches well. Against southpaws in 2025, he has a .372 wOBA, .167 ISO, and one home run against four-seamers and a .759 wOBA, 1.000 ISO, and one home run against cutters. I am all over this spot for Herrera to leave the yard for our first home run bet of the night.

Shohei Ohtani OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+196 FanDuel)

We are going to be eating the chalk and the odds here in our second home run bet of the night with Shohei Ohtani. This is the lowest odds bet I have recommended in this article and a bet I usually tend not to make, but the matchup is so elite for Ohtani here that I am willing to bet multiple units on this.

The Dodgers will square off against the Angels in Anaheim at Angel Stadium, as Victor Mederos will get the ball for the Angels. It will be neutral weather in California for this spot, so no bumps to worry about for hitting or pitching in this spot.

Ohtani has crushed right-handed pitching this season and leads the Dodgers with 31 home runs against righties. He is slashing ..275/.401/.641 with a .1.042 OPS this season. He has continued his success as of late, slashing .364/.475/.636 with a 1.111 OPS over his last 40 plate appearances.

Mederos on the season has allowed a 5.61 xFIP, 1.50 WHIP, and a 55.6% Hard Hit. He is allowing a lot of ground balls, but Ohtani hits the ball in the air 38.1% of the time.

Bet every prop possible for Ohtani today and go all in on this spot. I don't even mind taking a stab at a double-dong bet here in this spot.

Shea Langeliers OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+240 FanDuel)

Our last and final home run bet of the night will take place in West Sacramento at Sutter Health Park. It will be in the upper 80s at first pitch with a near 15 mph wind blowing out to left center field. This is the best spot on the day for hitters, and in a minor league ballpark, there is bound to be some fireworks.

Shane Baz will square off against Jacob Lopez, and although Lopez has allowed power to right-handed hitters, Baz is the arm we want to attack with righty power.

This season, Baz has allowed a .244 AVG, 201 ISO, .445 SLG, and 13 home runs to right-handed bats. With the wind blowing out to left field, this is the split I want to get my hands on in these conditions.

Baz is struggling with the long ball over his last two starts. During the span, he has allowed a 2.00 HR/9, 39.1% FB, and a 47.8% Hard Hit. This is yet another arm that is getting hit in the air and hard over his recent performances, something that stands out when looking to bet on home runs.

There are several right-handed bats in this Sacramento lineup that have power, but none is hotter than Shea Langeliers. Over his last 40 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, he is slashing .410/.425/.923 with a 1.348 OPS. He has five home runs during that span.

Baz has allowed power to two pitches in particular that he throws to right-handed hitters. His four-seamer has a .428 SLG and seven home runs against it, and his slider has a 1.286 SLG and six home runs against it.

As expected, Shea Langeliers mashes both of these pitches this season against right-hand pitching. In 2025, he has a .333 wOBA, .253 ISO, and four home runs against the four-seamer and a .367 wOBA, .356 ISO, and five home runs against the slider from righties.

Langeliers is going to bring us home for a hopeful three-for-three card.
