Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups - Woody Marks, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Trey Benson Fantasy Football Outlooks

Tryone Tracy Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Week 9 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Woody Marks, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Trey Benson in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

The running back position has seen numerous injuries throughout the first half of the campaign. In this piece, we will spotlight three backfields that have dealt with various injuries, allowing backup options to emerge as must-start options.

Ahead of Week 9, managers should prioritize these three running backs on the waiver wire as they could carry RB2 upside going forward.

So, should fantasy managers add Marks, Tracy, and Benson in Week 9? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Woody Marks Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 60% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

With Joe Mixon (foot) on the non-football injury reserve list and not showing any signs of significant progress, fantasy managers should expect rookie Woody Marks and veteran running back Nick Chubb to carry the load in the Houston backfield for the remainder of the season.

After taking just 12 total carries in the first three games, Marks has averaged a solid 10.2 attempts per game. During this five-game stretch, the fourth-round rookie averaged 3.9 YPC with 39.4 rushing yards per game and 25.6 receiving yards per game.

He has eclipsed at least 12.0 PPR points per game in three of the contests and even posted a career-high 27.9 PPR points during their Week 4 victory over the Titans. This past Sunday, Marks took 11 carries for 62 yards and caught all four of his targets for an additional 49 yards. In this same game, Chubb took a slightly higher 17 carries for 56 yards and was only targeted twice.

However, they nearly logged identical shares, with Marks at 43% and Chubb at 41%.

While both limit each other's ceilings, Marks is becoming the primary receiving back, which makes him a weekly mid-end RB2 in PPR formats going forward. In addition, if Chubb were to miss time, Marks could carry low-end RB1 upside.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 50% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

The major injury of Week 8 was to Giants rookie RB Cam Skattebo. The breakout star was carted off with a dislocated ankle and was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the campaign earlier on Monday morning. As a result, the team's No. 2 running back, Tyrone Tracy Jr., is now slated to serve as the primary workhorse option.

Tracy opened the season as the RB1 but quickly lost the role to Skattebo. In Weeks 6 and 7, Tracy logged just 13 total rushing attempts but was effective on his opportunities, tallying 50 yards and a rushing score.

In 2024, Tracy was very effective as a rookie, averaging a solid 13.5 PPR points per game despite playing on an underachieving offense. During this stretch, Tracy tallied 62.3 rushing yards per game and was involved as a pass catcher as well, receiving 3.6 targets per game.

With Skattebo out of the picture, Tracy has the opportunity to see a three-down role going forward with veteran Devin Singletary operating as a short-yardage option. Tracy should be viewed as a top RB target on the waiver wire and should carry RB2 upside going forward.

Trey Benson Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 55% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

The final player we will look at in this piece is Trey Benson of the Arizona Cardinals. Benson and the Cardinals were off in Week 8, but he his still widely available in nearly 50% of leagues on Yahoo!

Benson has been on the IR since suffering a knee injury during their Week 4 loss to the Seahawks. However, with his earliest return (Week 10) quickly approaching, managers should look to pick up Benson on the waiver wire.

Through four games this season, Benson showed solid upside, averaging 5.5 YPC and averaging 8.8 PPR points per game, despite logging less than 60% of the snaps in all but one of these games. While Benson has been sidelined, the Cardinals have not had inspiring performances in their backfield as Bam Knight and Michael Carter are both averaging less than 3.6 YPC.

When Benson returns, managers should expect him to hold a three-down role as the primary option in the backfield. Emari Demercado (ankle) is sidelined, which could open up even more targets for Benson in the passing game.

Benson is a priority target this weekend as he would enter high-end RB2 territory once cleared to return. He could push for nearly 20+ touches on a weekly basis.
