MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (5/20/25)

Aaron Judge

Jamie's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Tuesday, 5/20/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! I hope your MLB season has been lucrative with us through the first two months, and we're eager to help you pad your bank account as the weather heats up across the country. Tonight's a challenging slate, as we'll have to prioritize pitching vs. hitting, but there are some viable cheap pitchers if you want to stack offense.

There are 11 games on the schedule tonight, along with the first game of the Western Conference Finals in the NBA. We'll be working hard for you in the RotoBaller Discord channels, so be sure to come in and "channel-hop" so you get the all the news and lineups posted.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/20/2025, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will showcase elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tarik Skubal, DET ($11,500 DK/$11,000 FD)

You'll be paying a premium price tag to roster Tarik Skubal, and doing so may cost you expensive Yankees and Phillies bats. However, there's no argument that he's not worth the price of admission. Skubal is building on his Cy Young season like a champ, and his numbers are better this year.

On the season, Skubal carries an elite 2.12 FIP and 33.6% K rate. He's also posted an elite 18.8% swinging strike rate while allowing a meager 5.3% barrel rate, and the Cardinals have the sixth-highest K rate against LHP. Skubal's 32.1 CSW a year ago led all pitchers on this slate by a wide margin.

Will Warren, NYY ($7,500 DK/$8,400 FD)

Don't look now, but Will Warren is starting to live up to his hype status. He's struck out 24 batters over the past 17 innings, and his K rate on the season is up to 27.9%. In addition, his peripherals also indicate more success is on the horizon, as he has a 3.18 xFIP and has allowed less than one homer per inning.

The Rangers aren't a great K matchup for RHP, but Warren isn't priced for his recent success or upside. His win probability is high (NYY -190 at home), which helps on FD, and an elite bullpen backs him. Warren is your key to rostering Skubal and at least one bat from the Yanks or Philly.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bryce Harper, PHI ($6,300 DK/$4,300 FD)

The weather was cold in Colorado last night, but it didn't stop the Phillies from putting up nine runs. Tonight, the wind is light and the temperatures will be pushing 70 degrees, so you're going to watch to tap into the Phillies and their 6.7 IRT (highest on the slate).

It's a tough choice between Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber as the top lefty against Antonio Senzatela. If choosing for cash, you should gravitate to Harper, who has a far lower career K rate. For GPP, they're both elite, and Senzatela has only struck out 4.53 K/9 this season. Pitching to contact in this lineup is trouble all around, and Harper has a .406 wOBA against RHP since the beginning of last year.

Paul Goldschmidt, NYY ($4,500 DK/$3,500 FD)

Paul Goldschmidt has been an incredibly good signing for the Yankees. While he's lacking in the power department (five homers so far) as he ages, he's getting on base at an elite rate with a .381 wOBA and .878 OPS. He's also still mashing lefties, with a .424 wOBA and .235 ISO against them since the beginning of last year.

Patrick Corbin has been a troll this year with his 3.35 ERA, and it's not going to last. His 37.5% GB% rate is a career-low, and he's still only striking out 18.5% of batters. Corbin has been a launching pad for righty bats his whole career, and he gave up a .373 wOBA and 1.47 HR/9 to RHB last year.

Christian Walker, HOU ($3,400 DK/$3,000 FD)

Christian Walker's stint with the Astros is off to a slow start. He's only batting .202 with five homers, but this is a fun series to get him going. People are finally starting to catch on to the fact that Tampa is now a place to target hitters, as opposed to before, where its cavernous dome would swallow up fly balls.

Steinbrenner Field has the same dimensions as Yankee Stadium, and the heat helps. Walker has been solid against same-handed pitching since the beginning of last year with a .225 ISO, and he gets to take some oppo shots to the short RF porch. He provides some cheap upside if you want to stack expensive teams or play Skubal.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Judge, NYY ($6,400 DK/$4,800 FD)

Aaron Judge is my top overall play tonight. I'm rostering him at all costs in cash, and he should be a cornerstone of Yankee stacks. Judge is either leading or is top-3 in almost all major offensive categories, and his matchup against Corbin is simply a mismatch.

Since the beginning of last year, the Captain has a .453 wOBA and .310 ISO against LHP, and his batting average is still (incredibly) over .400. He has more multi-hit games than anyone in the league, and that includes four of them in his last eight. He's not the most expensive hitter on the slate, which is just wrong.

Tyler Soderstrom, ATH ($4,300 DK/$3,400 FD)

How 'bout those Athletics? They don't even have a city, yet they're riding right along at 22-26 and aren't far out of the playoff picture as of now. There are a lot of young players on the team to get excited about (this is one of them), and their IRT of 5.7 runs is third on the slate, behind only the Phillies and Yankees.

Tyler Soderstrom has cooled a bit after his torrid start, but he's still posting solid power numbers against lefty hurlers this year with a .347 wOBA and .227 ISO. Kyle Hendricks is a pitcher I've targeted aggressively this season, and his 6.37 xFIP (worst on the slate) indicates we should keep doing so. The A's are the affordable stack tonight.

Christian Yelich, MIL ($4,300 DK/$3,000 FD)

This is a reverse-split special, as the Brewers are taking on lefty Keegan Akin. The Orioles southpaw has given up a .367 wOBA and almost two batters per nine innings to same-handed hitters since the All-Star break of last season, and Christian Yelich is a dual threat for the Brewers.

Despite a gross .194 batting average this season, Yelich still has a combined 15 homers and steals, and his barrel rate is up over his last 10 games. Despite being offensively challenged in recent games, the Brewers have an IRT of 4.9 runs tonight.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. New York Yankees vs. Patrick Corbin

I'm not buying for a second that Corbin has figured something out at the age of 35. His 3.35 ERA is a smoke screen, as every underlying peripheral suggests major regression. Why not against the Yankees? They're top-5 in both wOBA and ISO against LHP, and have an IRT of 5.8 runs.

Favorite Combo: Goldschmidt, Grisham, Judge, Volpe

2. Philadelphia Phillies vs. Antonio Senzatela

Phillies against Coors pitching in Colorado? Sign me up. Their IRT of 6.7 runs is easily the highest on the slate, and the weather looks favorable for hitting. Senzatela has a gross 10.5% K rate, and Philly is full of boppers.

Favorite Combo: Stott, Turner, Harper, Schwarber

3. Athletics vs. Kyle Hendricks

The (city to be determined) Athletics have an IRT of 5.7 runs, which is the third highest on the slate. The most appealing thing about stacking them is how affordable the stack is compared to the teams above. Brent Rooker is the most expensive, and a sub-5K tag is super appealing against Hendricks.

Favorite Combo: Soderstrom, Rooker, Langeliers, Bleday
