LPL DFS Picks for 7/20/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends

Billy Hoffer’s League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL, and LCK slates on 7/20/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Hello, eSports enthusiasts, and welcome back to our continued eSports DFS coverage of League of Legends for DraftKings and FanDuel! We have no LCK games for this slate so it will just be a two-game LPL slate.

My name is Billy Hoffer and I'm a big fan of LOL, CSGO, and COD and have been a DFS grinder for some time now. I realize I have some big shoes to fill as I fill in for the esteemed Mr. Malmanger with these LPL picks, but I am going to do my best to give you high-quality analysis and actionable advice for tomorrow morning's DFS slate.

I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 5:00 AM on Monday, July 20th, 2020. Make sure you follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid!

LPL Matches

Team World Elite (-190) vs. LGD Gaming

To start the morning off we get a battle between two teams who are very tight in the LPL standings. LGD is coming off of a sweep victory over EDG, while WE has not played in six days but did last beat LNG 2-1. LGD holds the edge in first turret rate as well as first blood percentage. Meanwhile, WE holds advantages in all three of the neutral objectives (Dragons, Heralds, Barons).  LGD is a tad better early as they hold a +521 gold differential at 15 minutes, while WE sits at -180. This is a very hard game to predict as there are no huge lane advantages on ether side and stats are fairly close, but I will lean LGD here.

This is a match that will really come down to the draft and as it always does, it will be majorly important for LGD to ban out Teacherma's champion pool as best as possible and force him into an unfavorable match-up. WE likes to win games from team fights and they are fairly successful in doing so. I think LGD can match that early game and get ahead early as I believe that is their win condition. When WE gets behind, it results in a lot of stupid and unnecessary team fighting from them which can lead to some big production from the side of LGD. Peanut and Xiye  hold the top kill participation rates for LGD. I'm rolling with the slight dogs here.

The pick: LGD, 2-1

Top LGD plays:

  • Xiye - MID
  • Kramer - ADC
  • Peanut - JNG
  • Mark - SUP

Victory Five (-160) vs. Invictus Gaming

Another match with a very tight spread and this one brings us two of the top four teams in the LPL. Invictus is coming in hot having won their last four straight. V5 on the other hand, has won six of their last seven and continue to prove that they truly are one of the best in the LPL. V5 has very slight advantages in first turret and first blood percentages. IG has a slight dragon edge, while V5 holds better herald and baron rates.

The stats are very close between these two squads, but I like the side of V5 in this one. I give them a bot lane advantage over IG as Samd and ppGod have been elite all split. The mid lane goes in favor of IG, but the jungle is where I think V5 has their biggest advantage. WeiWei holds an insane kill participation of 77.9%. I think a big reason V5 takes this one is through top lane ganks onto TheShy as he is no stranger to dying. When IG gets behind early they have a very tough time coming back, I think IG takes one game, so i'll go V5 here, 2-1.

The pickVictory Five, 2-1

Top V5 plays:

  • Weiwei - JNG
  • Samd- ADC
  • ppGod - SUP
  • Biubiu - TOP

Summary

  1. Both V5 and LGD have a good amount of kill upside, I would recommend getting your one off from WE as I believe they have more kill upside in a win.
  2. My favorite one-offs tonight for FD players are Beishang, Rookie, and Morgan
  3. Either side in both of these games are viable, I’ll guess ownership from highest to lowest is V5, WE, LGD, IG
