Hitter Streamers (Week 26): Head-to-Head Leagues

Jeff Kahntroff analyzes hitter streamers and starts for Week 26. These bats are potential fantasy baseball waiver wire adds to stream for head-to-head leagues.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! As a reminder, in this piece we're looking for weekly streamers in head-to-head leagues, which means players who are 50% owned or less in Yahoo! leagues and who have seven or more games in the week. These players could provide great value off the waiver wire, particularly in head-to-head leagues, for the final week of the 2017 baseball season.

To catch all my streamers columns for the year, add me on Twitter @rotonails or check the RotoBaller MLB page.

With that said, let’s dive into the stream(ers).

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Bats to Stream and Start in Week 26

Justin Bour (1B, MIA) - 45% owned

Bour was a fantasy sleeper coming into the year, and after hitting .222 in April, he took off. In May he batted .344 with 11 homers. In the next two months, he batted .290 with six homers in 36 games. Then he went down with an injury, and he became a forgotten man. In just 11 games since his return, he is batting .359 with two homers. For the year, he has a .297/23/49/71/1 line in just 98 games. Now facing lefties too, Bour should be in your lineup almost every week. With favorable matchups this week, he is the week’s top play.

Ozzie Albies (2B/SS, ATL) - 20% owned

Albies has been in this column a few times recently, and he has not disappointed. With eight games this week, and with very favorable pitching matchups, he is an extremely strong option. On the year, he has posted a .283/4/28/22/3 in 47 games. With top prospect pedigree, speed, and underrated power, Albies is the number two option this week.

Amed Rosario (SS, NYM) - 16% owned

The next young middle-infield prospect on the list is Rosario. The 21-year old has shown good speed and a nice bat in the minors, and the power has just recently started to show itself. On the year, he has a .265/4/16/9/7 line in just 38 games. He has heated up recently and is a nice streaming option this week.

Brandon Phillips (2B/3B, LAA) – 35% owned

We transition from middle infield prospects to middle infield veterans. After having seven straight seasons with double digit homers and steals from 2006-2012, Phillips has accomplished the feat the past three seasons. On the year, he has a line of .288/11/77/56/11. He has been remarkably consistent the past few years, and there is no reason to expect that to stop now. Facing good matchups this week, Phillips is worth a play.

Marcus Semien  (SS, OAK) - 23% owned

Semien has only played 75 games this year due to injury, but his fantasy numbers are good for a middle infielder on a per-game basis. On the year, he has a .253/7/47/35/11 line after posting a 2016 line of .238/27/72/75/10. While he may hurt your team batting average a touch, he should make it up to you in the other categories. He faces decent pitching matchups this week and is a good streaming option.

Nick Markakis (OF, ATL) - 14% owned

Markakis isn’t the most exciting fantasy option because he doesn’t steal bases anymore and he no longer hits many homers. Nevertheless, he makes the list because he has eight games against favorable matchups. He can hit for a decent average while providing good run production and the occasional homer. Markakis is not a recommended play most weeks, but this is the week to stream him if the other options are off the board.

Michael A. Taylor (OF, WAS) - 24% owned

Taylor is still only 26 years old, and he has finally posted a decent average to go along with his power/speed combination. In 109 games, he has a line of .271/16/51/49/14. Over the prior two seasons, he had 21 homers and 30 steals in 214 games. If you are looking for a good power/speed threat, Taylor is a good choice against favorable matchups this week.

Also Worth Monitoring

Dexter Fowler (OF, STL) – Fowler has an impressive .270/18/67/61/6 line in just 111 games this year, but he does not face favorable matchups this week.

Shin Soo Choo (OF, TEX) – Choo has rebounded nicely after an injury-marred 2016, with a line of .264/20/93/75/12, but he faces tough matchups this week.

Howie Kendrick (1B/2B/3B/OF, WAS) – In approximately half a season of at bats, Kendrick has posted a line of .318/8/37/39/12 and faces favorable matchups.

Delino DeShields (OF, TEX) – DeShields is a good speed option, with a .275/5/72/20/29 line this year.
