Dynasty Fantasy Football QB Rankings Analysis: Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart

Jaxson Dart - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Brant's dynasty fantasy football quarterback rankings for Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, and Jaxson Dart. Where do these QBs rank among all dynasty quarterbacks?

Fantasy football dynasty startup drafts are underway, and they are only going to heat up over the course of the summer after the 2025 NFL Draft. Some fantasy football diehards even like to run dynasty startups before the NFL Draft, making rookie evaluations even more key without knowing landing spots and draft capital.

The three most polarizing incoming rookie quarterbacks are Miami’s Cameron Ward, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart. All three are projected to be Round 1 picks, although we could see Dart or Sanders slide into Day 2 of the draft, depending on how teams evaluate them. This class is not the 2024 class that featured Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and J.J. McCarthy, but it could give us some valuable assets at the league’s premier position.

Let’s evaluate each incoming rookie passer and determine whether they are worthy of a spot on your dynasty roster.

Cam Ward Fantasy Football Dynasty Ranking Analysis

Former Incarnate Word, Washington State, and Miami quarterback Cam Ward appears to be nearly set in stone as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, sending him to the Tennessee Titans where he would likely start from Day 1.

Ward enjoyed a fantastic senior season that saw him pass for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while rushing for 204 yards and four scores. Ward’s most defining trait is his big arm, which is easy for NFL scouts to fall in love with.

As of right now, Ward appears to be the consensus 1.02 selection in Superflex rookie drafts behind running back Ashton Jeanty. He is commonly ranked in a similar tier as quarterbacks Baker Mayfield, Trevor Lawrence, and Brock Purdy. While Tennessee does not have many weapons on the roster at the moment, it did a lot of investing into the offensive line this offseason and has a solid running back duo in Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears to take pressure off Ward.

Had he come out last season, Ward would have been a mid-round pick in a stacked quarterback class. He did the right thing by returning to school, transferring to Miami, becoming a Heisman finalist, and now sitting in line to become a first overall draft pick.

While he may not have the rookie season that Jayden Daniels had, propelling him to arguably the most valuable asset in dynasty fantasy football, Ward’s ceiling could see him ranked a lot higher than he is now entering his second NFL season. He is a good bet for long-term success in dynasty.

Shedeur Sanders Fantasy Football Dynasty Ranking Analysis

Shedeur Sanders may be the most polarizing prospect in the entire 2025 draft. Reviews are mixed on whether or not he can be successful at the next level, and mock drafts have him going anywhere from second overall to falling out of the first round completely.

If he were to go in Round 1, logical landing spots include Cleveland (second overall), the New York Giants (third overall), Las Vegas (sixth overall), the New York Jets (seventh overall), New Orleans (ninth overall), Pittsburgh (21st overall), and the Los Angeles Rams (26th overall). Depending on where he lands, Sanders could start instantly or could have to wait a while before getting a shot to lead a franchise.

Sanders is largely praised due to his accuracy and confidence, two important traits that decision-makers seek in a franchise quarterback. The downsides to his game include longer time spent in the pocket and operating with a lot of space when in college. All he needs is one team to take a shot on him. The question is, where and when will Sanders play as a rookie?

In dynasty, he is currently valued a tier lower than Ward and is grouped with players like Bryce Young, Jared Goff, and Dak Prescott. To me, this ranking feels like a ceiling rather than a floor for Sanders.

There is no guarantee he ever gets to the level of these players, and while Young is also a flier, he was at least the No. 1 overall pick. Sanders’ value will likely fluctuate based on where and when he is drafted, and it will be interesting to keep an eye on him throughout the offseason.

Deion’s son is currently graded as a mid-first-round rookie draft pick in Superflex formats. If he’s drafted within the top three picks, he could vault up to 1.03, given how valuable the quarterback position is in this format. If he free-falls down the draft board, he likely would slot in as a late first-rounder in rookie drafts.

Jaxson Dart Fantasy Football Dynasty Ranking Analysis

The predraft process seems to have solidified Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart as the likely third quarterback off the board in April. He could be pushed up the board due to need. As mentioned with Sanders, all it takes is one team to fall in love.

Dart did improve each season at Ole Miss, relying on accuracy and decision-making as he prepares for the next level. He also has solid athleticism, as he rushed for 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns over his three seasons playing for the Rebels. After seeing what Sean Payton did with Bo Nix as a rookie, there is an increased possibility that a team takes a flier on a gritty player like Dart to be its franchise signal-caller.

If he’s drafted earlier than expected, a team like Las Vegas (sixth overall), the New York Jets (seventh overall), or New Orleans (ninth overall) could make him a top-10 selection. If he falls down the board a bit, Dart could end up in Indianapolis, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles (Rams), or Cleveland.

Wherever he lands, Dart will likely have competition and may have to sit for up to a season before being given a chance to lead a franchise. In dynasty, he is currently valued around other long-term dart throws, such as Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Anthony Richardson, and Geno Smith. It’s possible that Dart could share a roster with one of those four quarterbacks, competing for a starting job.

The NFL Draft will bring more clarity as to how NFL teams value Dart and if he will be given a chance to start early on in his career. He has been a riser throughout the buildup to the draft, but we will find out for sure in late April just how far he has propelled himself up draft boards.

Dart is currently projected as an early second-round pick in Superflex dynasty rookie drafts. If he is drafted early to a spot where he has a clear path to be a starter early on, he could sneak into the top half of the first round. If not, he likely will settle into the second round, much like Michael Penix Jr. did a season ago.
