DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/24/16): NBA DFS Advice

Basketball is beginning to wind down, but that doesn’t mean that you should. There is plenty of value on the board, perhaps more so now than at any point during the season. The Nets and Pelicans aren’t the sexiest of teams, in fact they are downright ugly, but their high volume, low budget players are the guys to key in on over the final weeks of the season. Good luck on Thursday’s five game slate!

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 3/24/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast live streaming on Google+ every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs.

Without wasting anymore time, let's get down to it!

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Chris Paul (vs POR, $9,500)

Only Chris Paul can slow down Chris Paul. The dude has been a usage monster since Blake Griffin got injured/suspended/whatever is going on with him. He actually led the months of February and January in total usage rate of all points guards, a staggering number overall when you factor playing time in. Unfortnately, he did slow down on Wednesday night, as he atrociously went 4-for-16 from the field. Damian Lillard has been yielding a 113 DRating on the road this season, so I am willing to be that those shooting woes will not carry over to Thursday night. In cash games, CP3 is as safe as they come.

Jrue Holiday (at IND, $8,400)

This is what I wrote about Holiday earlier this week: “Don’t forget about Holiday. With Anthony Davis’s shutdown and Ryan Anderson most likely sitting out on Tuesday, Holiday remains really the only scoring option for the Pelicans.” This is all still true for Thursday’s game in Indiana. I like him even more than Paul tonight.

Toney Douglas (at IND, $5,100)

George Hill (vs NOP, $5,000)

There’s a lot of value out of the Pelicans locker room right now. With all the injuries and shut downs, you could probably roster almost everyone in a NOLA uni for a tournament. That includes Douglas, who has been playing massive minutes as of late, averaging nearly 32 a game over the last five. Unfortunately for NOLA, that means they’re going to give up points. That backcourt has been one to pick on all year and there’s no reason to stop now. Hill is poised to see a nice spike in production.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Monta Ellis (vs NOP, $6,100)

The two guard spot is perhaps the weakest position on this five game slate, leaving Ellis the safest option for cash games. The Pelicans have been atrocious at defending guards all season and unfortunately all those injuries have forced them to throw out minus defenders on the perimeter. Ellis has been consistently packing the DraftKings points board in the mid-30s over the last two weeks. That trend will continue against the Pelicans

Sean Kilpatrick (vs CLE, $3,300)

For those Brooklyn Nets haters out there I got two words for you, “you’re right.” Okay, two words including contraction. Nets haters are right that the team is an absolute mess with essentially no future in store. However, we fantasy pundits absolutely LOVE the Nets, especially their new toy Sean Kilpatrick. In 72 games in the D-League this season, Kilpatrick averaged nearly 19 points and 3.5 boards per. Those aren’t astonishing numbers, but it does show his scoring upside. If this game gets out of hand, Kilpatrick could see a lot of usage in garbage time, leading to fantasy gold.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

LeBron James (at BKN, $9,200)

There are question marks with all four of the heavy hitters at the swing position. King James could lead a Battle of Agincourt type of blowout. Same with PG13. KD is dealing with some elbow soreness and the Thunder will square off against the slowest team in the Association and do you trust Melo on a back-to-back? LBJ has the highest floor even in a blowout and his price isn’t astronomical. It’s actually rather low.

Luke Babbitt (at IND, $4,000)

This is what I wrote about Babbitt on Tuesday of this week: “Just because Alvin Gentry is going to force Babbitt down our throats, whether we like it or not.” That still remains true for Thursday night.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Kristaps Porzingis (vs CHI, $5,400)

Remember this guy? He was the clear cut Rookie of the Year winner in November and December, but then reality sunk in as a Knick and Derek Fisher happened. As in Derek Fisher messed with his rotations, not Derek Fisher got rightfully canned. Anyway, PorzinGOD is back and bigger than, well, almost ever. He shredded the Bulls on Wednesday night with just a little old 29/10 performance in Chicago. He will be back in NYC on Thursday, where he is averaging a solid one and a half points and over half a rebound per game more than on the road. I am going to consider Porzingis as the chalk play on Thursday.

Myles Turner (vs NOP, $4,700)

Turner has now turned out three straight efficient performances, but his ownership numbers have dropped leading to a smaller price tag. This is your typical buy-low option here, but only in tournaments. His minutes are still erratic at best and with a legit chance of a blowout against the Pelicans, there’s really no telling how the rotations will play out. Still, there’s no Unibrow to check him and Ian Mahinmi will most likely be tasked with slowing down the offensively-inept Omer Asik. So there is a big question mark as to who will be tasked to guard Turner. That in itself is enough to roster him in GPPs.

DraftKings DFS Centers

DeAndre Jordan (vs POR, $7,700)
Despite the Clippers’ fourth loss to the Warriors on Wednesday night, Jordan pulled in 20 boards. We’re actually not surprised by this. The dude has been eating glass all season. With that loss, expect the Clippers to come out mad and want to put a hurting on Portland. We could see another 20 board night from the big man.

Robin Lopez (vs CHI, $5,600)

I have absolutely loved throwing RoLo out in tournaments over the past month, but now his price is starting to get up to a point where I’m not quite sure if his roster makes sense. Granted he is coming off of two monster games, including an 11/13/3/4 gem on Wednesday against the very team that he will face on Thursday night. Lopez is putting up his best numbers on back ends of back-to-backs, but I am sure that has more to do with his high usage rate due to a certain superstar not playing. Still, he is worth some tournament exposure.

Mason Plumlee (at LAC, $4,700)

Have you seen what Plumlee has been doing as of late? I mean you probably have considering the rise in his ownership numbers. The former Blue Devil has returned at least 5x value in seven straight games, perhaps solidifying his role in the Portland frontcourt. Still, I don’t think that is enough to consider him cash safe, but certainly he is worth of a few tourney plays.
