Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (8/28/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hansons' DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 8/28/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks. The start to Group C was a banger, BiG made quick work of EG, Fnatic took NaVi to double OT on their first map together before falling and losing by way of sweep, and FaZe beat Mousesports in three maps. This time around we have BiG taking on Fnatic, Mousesports taking on NaVi, and lastly FaZe gets EG!

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Saturday, August 28th, 2021, at 7:30 AM.

ESL Pro League Season 14

Best of 3

  • BiG (-190) vs. Fnatic (+150)
  • NaVi (-285) vs. Mousesports (+215)
  • FaZe (-360) vs. EG (+255)

Captain Plays

broky: Broky and Twistzz had me sweating today, but they really came through as FaZe pulled out the win in map 3 as they dominated Mouz. Broky finished with a nice +14 K/D differential with a positive stat line in all three maps. EG I have a feeling is going to be the team we are looking to target and broky is in a great spot to smash his price. The pricing today looks a bit softer today and should make building lineups a bit easier. At 8,600$ I think broky is being undervalued and we should be definitely taking advantage of that. Over the last three months, Broky is averaging a 1.20 K/D and has a KPR of .73 and a DPR of .61.

tabsen: I don't necessarily like going back to players who just had an insane game that is usually unlike them but in this case, with tabsen, he is a great price for a cheaper captain option and he is stepping up in a big spot with there being no more Xantares on the team. The matchup against Fnatic should be a good one too, as they kept up with NaVi all the way through and I think Fnatic can do the same here and keep it close with possible OT being involved once again. In today's game against EG, tabsen finished with an insane 1.63 K/D on 49 kills and was averaging a kill per round. I like him to continue the momentum and hopefully help lead this team to victory. Syrson I like as well and if you have the money to spend up, I do like his consistency much more, but tabsen is priced so cheaply.

Other captain plays in order of preference: s1mple(duh), Twistzz, Syrson, B1T, Brollan, Mezii

Value Plays

Mezii: This is more of a GPP play, but I really like Mezii, he played extremely well against a tough opponent in NaVi today, he really helped keep the game much closer than it should have been. 7,400$ is fairly cheap for a player of his magnitude. He could turn the slate upside down at his price. Over the last three months, and reminder this includes his one game with Fnatic so far and the rest were with the previous team he played with in Endpoint. He averaged a 1.27 K/D with a .77 KPR and a very low .61 DPR. He went +3 today against NaVi with 51 kills. I expect him to play a bit better and have a higher scoring stat line in what should be a better game between Fnatic and BiG.

ropz: I didn't think I would be necessarily going against NaVi here, but ropz for 7,200$? That is insanely cheap for their best player. He is usually a 9k+ player. These games should be close and although they lost to FaZe today, I think they rebound and keep it really close with NaVi. Even if NaVi does sweep, I think there is a good chance ropz still ends up being one of the positive players on the board plus you would be getting a whole map worth of RNP bonus as well.  Over the last three months, Ropz is averaging a 1.30 K/D with a .80 KPR and a .62 DPR. Even though they lost today to FaZe, Ropz still ended up +19 on the day. At 7,200, we are getting great value on a player like ropz.

Other value plays in order of preference: Brollan, olofmeister, Perfecto, tizian, ALEX (PUNT)

Top Stacks / Team Picks

FaZe: Targeting EG might be normal in this group, as each group has their BNB or G2. FaZe just happens to be in that spot today. EG looked awful in their first game against BiG, and I think a lot of that attributes to the fact that they are having to play with their coach Daps instead of Stanislaw or a different stand-in of some sort. FaZe took down a good opponent in Mousesports today, and this time around I think we see yet another great performance against EG tomorrow.

When it comes to players though, Broky and Twistzz should definitely be your first to look at. After that, it gets a bit tricky. Karrigan is the one I'm fading as he is extremely inconsistent, and I just can't see him scoring well, even in games FaZe wins, karrigan is still going negative. Rain would probably be your next safer pick from FaZe, but I have also noticed that olofmeister has stepped up as well and has been playing better. Today he had a +5 K/D differential and was a big difference-maker for FaZe. I like olof's price a lot more, so I would say olof before Rain, but Rain is the better player stat-wise.

Other stacking options: Navi, BiG, Fnatic

Note: Flamie is not playing in this tournament
