Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (8/24/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hansons' DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 8/24/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks.  A little bit of a break, but we are back with another day of Group B play. So far OG and Forze have won both their matches and VP and G2 surprisingly have both lost theirs. Sinners and Complexity are both 1-1 and hope to get that final spot in Group B. It is anyone's game though as we still have 3 matches to play. Coming up tomorrow we have OG taking on Forze, Sinners gets Virtus Pro, and lastly, we have G2 and Complexity in what should be a great matchup.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, at 7:30 AM.

ESL Pro League Season 14

Best of 3

  • Virtus Pro (-170) vs. SinnerS (+130)
  • OG (-190) vs. Forze (+145)
  • G2 (-225) vs. Complexity (+165)

Captain Plays

Mantuu: I have to go back to Mantuu here, OG has been by far the most dominant team so far in this group and it has shown with big wins over VP and a blowout win over G2. So far in both those games, he has scored 79 and 89, He is also very affordable at only 8,800 making it to where you aren't busting the bank trying to fit him in as captain. I like this matchup as I think Forze can keep it competitive but I also think OG continues the trend and sweeps Forze still. In this tournament so far, he has an insane 2.05 K/D and is averaging a .88 KPR with a super low .43 DPR. I don't expect that to continue to be the case at that high but I do see mantuu still dominating the field and killing it at his price. Lock him in.

Hunter-: Obviously NiKo is the top fragger from G2, but let's talk hunter this time around. If it wasn't for Hunter, NiKo would be the only one doing something on the team. hunter is the only other player on the team with a positive rating so far in this tournament and a positive K/D over the last three months. I think this game stays close and goes three maps, and hunter had 70 DKP in his last three-game match and that was a loss. I do think they win here and if it's going to be on anyone's backs, it's going to be NiKo and hunters. Hunters, K/D has been a 1.11 and is averaging a .74 KPR with a .67 DPR.

Other captain plays in order of preference: NiKo, Oskar, NEOFRAG, valde, zorte(GPP), BlameF(GPP), Jame

BlameF/poizon: Okay, I get G2 is favorited here but this is insanity. I don't think I have ever seen blameF at 6,800 let alone below 8k. G2 has lost to OG by sweep and SinnerS. Complexity took a rough loss to Forze but was able to bounce back and sweep SinnerS. I think this game ends up being much closer and has a high chance of going three maps. BlameF and poizon both really showed out in their last game as they went +13 and +12 between both games in their sweep over SinnerS. I think at this price, both of these guys are very viable options in what should be a close match. During the tournament, BlameF has a solid 1.20 K/D and is carrying a .75 KPR with a low .63 DPR. For Poizon he has a 1.12 K/D with a .73 KPR and .65 DPR. I definitely prefer BlameF in this situation but poizon is a great option at 5.2k that has the ability to pop off.

SHOCK: In general SinnerS are way too cheap. And if you have the option, I highly recommend moving up to NEOFRAG or Oskar for a better play but as for value SHOCK and even ZEDKO are great value plays from SinnerS. Shock had a much better first game and ZEDKO had a better second game. I do expect one of these guys to perform well in this one as well. VP is struggling severely and has looked awful in both their games against Forze and OG so far. I anticipate this one being much closer as well as a possible third map being involved. Both of these guys have the highest ratings on their team during the tournament so far and are very cheap. While VP struggles, capitalize on SinnerS.

Other value plays in order of preference: FlameZ, niko, jks, nexa, KENSI (GPP)

Top Stacks / Team Picks

OG: I'm going to ride the hot hand here. OG has been insanely dominant during this tournament so far and every single one of them on the team has a 1.11 rating or higher. Forze has looked good, so I expect them to keep it somewhat close, but the way they absolutely stunned G2 the other day leads me to think OG sweeps Forze as well. Niko has been playing much better and is still a very cheap option. Mantuu has been one of the best players in this tournament we have seen so far. FlameZ is playing well and his price is still in a perfect range. Aleksib hasn't played bad but I do prefer niko much more than him at a cheaper price. Lastly, valde is in a grey area, as he is a good play but I think I would rather go to FlameZ for cheaper or pay up and grab mantuu. I anticipate he will be much lower owned than mantuu making him a great upside play if that's the route you go.

Other stacking options: G2, Sinners, Complexity(GPP)
