Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (8/20/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hansons' DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 8/20/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks.  Oh, how it is good to be back, the long-player break has come to a close as we finally get our first major tournament in almost a month. Spirit made quick work of BNB, Ence made it competitive but couldn't pull through as Heroic pulled it out in game 3, and Vitality made easy work of Astralis as they swept them 16-9 on both maps. The final day of Group A is upon us as Ence gets BNB, Heroic takes on Astralis, and Vitality gets Spirit.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Friday, August 20th, 2021, at 2:00 PM.

ESL Pro League Season 14

Best of 3

  • Ence (-2000) vs. Bad News Bears (+875)
  • Heroic (-175) vs. Astralis (+135)
  • Team Spirit (+140) vs. Team Vitality (-180)

Captain Plays

hades: We going back to hades who has been by far the best on ENCE during this tournament and I expect that to continue and for him to drop a big line tomorrow. This should definitely be an easy win for Ence, in their sweep over Astralis, hades had 84 DKP with a 48-25 line. I don't see hades dying too much in this game, this month hades is averaging a 1.22 K/D with a .70 KPR and a very low .58 DPR. As the AWPer for his team seeing that low of a DPR is great and I expect him to have a very positive game. He is expensive, but I do think there is a lot of value on this slate to afford him with.

Misutaaa: Obviously ZywOo is one of the better options but I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing about ZywOo. So the next man up has been Misutaaa lately. He has had a 1.20 rating in this tournament and is averaging a 1.14 K/D with a .71 KPR and a low .62 DPR. Obviously, If you can afford it go to ZywOo but Misutaaa was eating today and is definitely a decent pivot at a grand cheaper. Spirit is not ready for Vitality as their only win has been at the hands of the poor BNB. Otherwise, they have been swept by Heroic and Ence and didn't look good in their game against Astralis. Vitality should be able to make quick work of them.

Other captain plays in order of preference: ZywOo, TeSeS, dycha, stavn

Snappi: This definitely isn't the most appealing play and it has some heavy recency bias but he looked great today and now gets a very good matchup against a BNB team that has one map with over 10 round wins. This should be once again a sweep and Snappi makes it easier to get an Ence stack with the main three players being 8,800 or more. I do like doto's production more but his price is 1,200$ more and if you don't have the extra to get there then Snappi will work as well at 6k.

stavn: I get that we just saw Heroic struggle with Ence, but they still pulled out the win and now get an Astralis team that has struggled in every single game besides the one against BNB. They were swept by Vitality, Ence, and barely squeaked out a win against Spirit. Stavn just killed it today too and was the top fragger in the entire game as he had 64 kills and helped lead them to Victory in a 3 map thriller against Ence. He has by far played the best during this tournament so far and we are getting him at 6,800$. That is far too cheap for someone who has averaged a 1.20 K/D with a .81 KPR and a .68 DPR during this event. He is also my cheap captain option for the day.

Other value plays in order of preference: ApeX, Sjuush, Refrezh, Kyojin, doto

Top Stacks / Team Picks

ENCE: BNB has been awful in this tournament and has one map with more than 10 rounds won. Ence has been playing very well with a 2-0 win over Astralis and Spirit, and a very close 3 map match with Heroic. This should be another 2-0 for Ence, who is looking to lock up a spot in the ESL Playoffs. As far as players go, Spinx is probably one of my least favorites based on his production and his price. He has just not performed up to standard and 9,800$ is pretty crazy to pay for him. I like hades much more for the 200$ less. Dycha has been playing well in this tournament as well and doto has shown flashes of upside as well and at his price could be worth a shot to take on him as well. Snappi is super cheap and played well today and could also crush it at his price. My favorite stack would be hades, dycha, and Snappi.

Other Stacks: Vitality, Heroic, Astralis (GPP)

Note: A couple of things here regarding who is playing as DK has some players listed out and that is just not the case, Allu is out for Ence. For BNB, both junior and Spongey are playing, and alter is not.

Note 2: In regards to Astralis, they now have a 6 man roster and have said that they are going to come out and use Lucky from Day 1. That means we have a chance at sub-risk. I think the most likely options to get subbed would be Xyp9x and Bubzjki. Gla1ve, Magisk, and Dupreeh all look like they would be safe from being subbed. So be wary rostering these players. At this moment it looks like Xyp9x is Lucky's substitute.
