Billy Hoffer’s League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL, and LCK slates on 8/6/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Hello, eSports enthusiasts, and welcome back to our continued eSports DFS coverage of League of Legends for DraftKings and FanDuel! I'm Billy (aka "the kid") Hoffer and I'm back with more LPL/LCK analysis!

Tonight, we have a four-game slate as we have two matches in the LPL and two in the LCK. We have a few tight spreads tonight as it should be an interesting slate. As always, I am going to do my best to give you high-quality analysis and actionable advice for tomorrow morning's DFS slate.

Today I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK/LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Thursday, August 6th, 2020. If you're not already, then make sure you follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid!

LCK Matches

Gen. G vs. DAMWON Gaming (-175)

Two of the best teams in the world face off tonight in the LCK. DWG hold the first turret edge while GEN has the better first blood percentage. Gen. G also hold the advantages in dragon and baron rates, with DWG having a slight herald advantage. This is a tough one to call and it is very hedge worthy. I am going to go with my gut here and say Gen. G takes it 2-1 off the back of Ruler. I am expecting this series to be bloody, so taking any side is certainly 100% viable. A big reason I like Gen. G here is because Ruler is not a huge Aphellios player. You do not have to pick a side in this one as it is a four-game slate, but something tells me the winner of this one will be in the winning lineup.

The pick: Gen. G, 2-1

Top Gen.G  plays:

  • Ruler - ADC
  • Clid - JNG
  • Bdd - MID
  • Rascal - TOP
  • Gen. G Team Slot

 T1 (-2500) vs. SeolHaeOne Prince

This will be a boring match. We get T1 coming in to face the bottom feeder of the league, SHO. T1 has advantages in both first turret and first blood. They are also better at controlling all three neutral objectives (dragons, heralds, barons). As I have said before, T1 is almost impossible to full stack. SHO does have fairly alarming death rates in losses which provides a case to full stack T1. I still likely won't do it, but I do really like Canna and Teddy. I would also recommend taking the Team Slot here as a sweep should more than likely be the case here. 2-0, T1.

The pick: T1, 2-0

Top T1 plays:

  • Teddy - ADC
  • Canna - TOP
  • T1 Team Slot
  • Cuzz - JNG (Not guranteed to start)

LPL Matches

Rogue Warriors vs. Victory Five (-425)

I don't know what to think of this match. Both these squads got absolutely embarrassed in their last time out. RW getting swept by LNG, and V5 getting thrashed by EDG. V5 holds the first turret edge, with RW having the better first blood percentage. V5 has the dragon and baron edge, while RW has the better herald rates. the ADC position for V5 has been a rollarcoaster ride in their last few matches. I will fade that spot entirely tonight. I will take V5 here 2-1. My favorite spot in this match is the JNG/MID duo of Weiwei and Mole. This is another series that can potentially be bloody, but also a risky spot as well.

The pick: Victory Five, 2-1

Top V5 plays:

  • Weiwei - JNG
  • Mole - MID
  • ppgod - SUP
  • Biubiu - TOP

Royal Never Give Up (-265) vs. Bilibili Gaming

This is it for RNG, win or go home. They are eliminated from playoff contention with a loss here. BLG is coming off a 1-2 loss against LGD. BLG has first turret edge, with RNG having better first blood rates. RNG also hold advantages in dragon and baron rates, with BLG having better herald control. RNG has a slightly better early game, having the gold edge at 15 minutes. This is so a spot where RNG blows it and we all act surprised. But I don't think that happens here.

I think RNG live up to the pressure and take this one 2-1. This match does concern me as far as fantasy production goes and I will likely take small stacks from here. XLB is my favorite play on RNG and I like pairing him with New as I see these two working together to gank Kingen in the TOP lane as he does die a lot. 2-1, RNG.

The pick: RNG, 2-1

Top RNG plays:

  • XLB - JNG
  • New - TOP
  • Xiaohu - MID
  • GALA/Betty - ADC (whoever starts)
  • Ming - SUP

Summary

  1. T1 is your safest bet tonight, but the GEN/DWG match likely brings the most upside. V5 is definitely in play but it is hard to trust them after recent performances.
  2. Ownership should be spread out tonight so take what you like most and don't sweat ownership.
