Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
Bucky Irving, RB, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) looked "fine" in practice on Wednesday, per Greg Auman of Fox Sports. Irving is expected to practice all week heading into Tampa Bay's Week 13 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, although his status for Sunday against Arizona remains unclear. Irving has not played since Week 4 due to multiple injury issues.
Across four games before getting injured, the 23-year-old had recorded 430 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 90 touches and looked like the clear RB1 in Tampa Bay. In his absence, the Buccaneers have turned to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker for backfield snaps. Even when Irving returns, the team may choose to operate with more of a committee approach in order to bring him back slowly from the long injury layoff.
Still, Irving's return to the field would be a welcome sign for fantasy managers. The final word on his Week 13 status is unlikely to come before the end of the week.
Bam Knight, RB, Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back Bam Knight has enjoyed an extended run as the team's lead back with Trey Benson (knee) on injured reserve and Emari Demercado (ankle) also missing time. Knight's fantasy appeal could come to an end with Benson's practice window opened last week, and him being listed as a limited participant every day in practice last week.
Benson could be on track to return in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but could be eased back into action after missing seven consecutive games. Knight could be in a timeshare with the second-year back in the short term before Benson is ready to take on a bigger workload. If Benson isn't ready to return just yet, Knight will rank as a touchdown-dependent RB3 for Week 13 against the Bucs.
Josh Downs, WR, Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs caught just two of his six targets for 10 yards in Sunday's overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12. Downs was trending up in fantasy football after recording touchdown grabs in three straight games, but the 24-year-old has had back-to-back duds with three total receptions (eight targets) for just 13 yards the last two games.
He has taken a back seat in the Colts' passing game behind receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie tight end Tyler Warren. While the former third-rounder is still useful depth in most fantasy formats, he'll be hard to trust going into a difficult Week 13 matchup against the league's top defense in the Houston Texans. Downs is up to 38 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns on 54 targets in 10 games in 2025 in his third year in the NFL.
Tyler Allgeier, RB, Falcons
Across 11 games this season, Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier has recorded 89 catches for 324 yards and seven touchdowns. As long as star Falcons back Bijan Robinson remains healthy, Allgeier's production upside is limited. However, the Falcons have consistently demonstrated a willingness to use Allgeier in goal-to-go situations, which gives him touchdown-scoring potential every week.
Additionally, should Robinson get injured, Allgeier holds fantasy league-winning potential. As the fantasy playoffs draw closer in most leagues, Allgeier is worth rostering for his handcuff upside alone. In the right matchups, such as Atlanta's Week 13 game against the New York Jets, Allgeier has standalone value as a flex option. He should be rostered in all leagues with 12 or more teams heading into Week 13.
