Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:

Chase Brown, RB, Bengals
Trade Value: 35.8
ROS Rank: 64

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown had 11 carries for 108 yards and added two catches for minus-eight yards on Thursday night against the Steelers. It was the most productive game of the season for Brown as he went over 100 rushing yards for the first time since Week 9 of last season. Coming into the game, he had just 304 total yards from scrimmage and one touchdown in six games.

But he was able to find plenty of running room against a Pittsburgh defense that had been tough against opposing running backs. His snap share also rebounded to 63.2% in this one after being closer to 50% in the previous two games. Hopefully, this signals better days ahead for Brown as the Cincinnati offense is trending in the right direction with Joe Flacco under center.

Verdict: Sell high if possible

DeVonta Smith, WR, Eagles
Trade Value: 41.7
ROS Rank: 56

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught nine of his 11 targets for 183 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The highlight of his performance was a 79-yard touchdown catch that extended Philadelphia's lead to two possessions in the third quarter.

Smith led the team in receiving yards and combined with A.J. Brown for the entirety of the Eagles' offensive scoring. The 26-year-old hasn't been very consistent week over week, but games like these remind managers of his extreme upside. He should continue to be viewed as a solid WR2 heading into Week 8 against the New York Giants.

Verdict: Buy for a fair price if you still can

Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys
Trade Value: 25.3
ROS Rank: 91

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott played a clean game in his team's 44-22 Week 7 win over the Washington Commanders, completing 21 of 30 pass attempts for 264 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Prescott's Cowboys are now averaging 31.7 points per game so far this season. Through seven games, Prescott has thrown for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns. He will face perhaps his toughest test so far this season in Week 8 when Dallas travels to Denver to take on the Broncos. Still, Prescott is playing at a high level and will be difficult for fantasy managers to go away from, even in a difficult matchup.

Verdict: Buy after tough matchup against Broncos in Week 8

Tee Higgins, WR, Bengals
Trade Value: 34.2
ROS Rank: 68

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins caught six of his 10 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's Week 7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 26-year-old is enjoying some newfound success after struggling to form a rapport with Jake Browning earlier in the year.

He has looked much better in two games with Joe Flacco as his quarterback, totaling 11 catches, 158 yards, and one touchdown during that span. Flacco appears poised to remain the Bengals' quarterback for the duration of Joe Burrow's (toe) absence, which is great news for Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase, and their fantasy managers. Higgins will continue to operate behind Chase in the pecking order, but he still has standalone value as a low-end WR2 for Week 8 against the Jets.

Verdict: Sell high if possible

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Jaylen Waddle, Ashton Jeanty, Tee Higgins, Chase Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dak Prescott. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
