Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups - Zach Ertz, Juwan Johnson, Harold Fannin Fantasy Football Outlooks

Zach Ertz - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Week 3 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Zach Ertz, Juwan Johnson, Harold Fannin in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

The tight end position is often one of misery for fantasy managers. Outside of tight end premium leagues, the position is easily the lowest-scoring in fantasy football among types of players (i.e., QB, WR, RB, and TE), with tight ends often failing to eclipse 10 PPR points per game.

Still, having one of the better tight ends presents a massive advantage for fantasy managers. The best possible team would have to feature elite scorers from all positions, and often, TEs that went undrafted have great seasons.

Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, New Orleans Saints TE Juwan Johnson, and Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. have all made splashes through the first two weeks of the 2025 NFL season. But which should you pick up on waiver wires for Week 3?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Zach Ertz Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 52% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

Ertz bested his Week 1 mark of 11.6 PPR fantasy points by catching six of his eight targets for 64 yards and a receiving touchdown. He now has touchdowns in consecutive weeks to start his age-34 campaign in the NFL. He's shown impressive longevity.

His connection with second-year QB Jayden Daniels (knee) still appears to be thriving, and he's had high target volume despite Washington adding wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. in the offseason. At the TE position, end zone targets are incredibly valuable and can push solid options into elite territory.

Ertz should be rostered in all leagues at this point. While Daniels might miss time with his knee injury, there's no reason for Ertz to be available anywhere.

Juwan Johnson Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 50% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

Johnson has surprisingly continued to maintain his large role in the offense. The Saints are an organization in shambles, but that doesn't mean they can't produce fantasy value. As New Orleans is allowing a lot of points to be scored, they're forced into heavy passing situations.

It makes sense for the team to lean on its biggest target -- Johnson, who's 6-foot-4 and 231 pounds. Johnson was targeted nine times in Week 2, catching five passes for 49 yards and a touchdown, totaling 15.9 PPR fantasy points. He's currently one of the best TEs to have on your fantasy roster.

He should be added in every league that has a tight end spot out there. If things continue like this, he could be one of the waiver wire steals of the season.

Harold Fannin Jr. Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 67% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

Fannin was targeted only five times in Week 2 after collecting nine targets in Week 1. He failed to reach the end zone. He still outscored fellow TE David Njoku, 9.8 to 8.0 PPR fantasy points, but he played on nine percent less of the team's offensive snaps.

Fannin's role was a bit reduced, and it seems like the Week 1 game, in which the Browns ran a ton of offensive plays, won't be the norm for Fannin. It's worth hanging on to him to see if his role ends up increasing down the road, though, and the team seems to be using him in a variety of roles.

Still, the Ravens were a tough matchup for tight ends. They have an excellent linebacker group, and it's difficult to work the short and intermediate part of the field against them. Fannin should be rostered in all leagues and is still a solid starting option moving forward.
