BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: D/ST1
ANALYSIS: The New York Jets' D/ST has been one of the top-scoring units in fantasy football this season. They are the D/ST5 for the year, averaging 8.8 fantasy points per game. The Jets’ defense has played well despite the offense consistently putting them in difficult situations.
This week, the Jets' D/ST is the third-highest-ranked unit in the RotoBaller weekly rankings, only behind the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers. Last week, the Washington Commanders scored 28 points against New York. Yet, the Jets' D/ST scored 10 fantasy points after totaling two interceptions, a fumble recovery, a sack, and a blocked punt.
While there are several star players on the team’s defense, cornerback Sauce Gardner is the best of the bunch. The second-year player has been outstanding lately. He has surrendered only 18 receptions for 150 receiving yards and zero touchdowns since New York’s bye week.
Tonight, the Jets face the Browns in a battle between two elite defenses. While Joe Flacco has played well for fantasy players since taking over as the starter, the quarterback has struggled to protect the ball. He has eight turnovers in four games this year, including at least two interceptions in back-to-back contests.
Fantasy players should expect that trend to continue tonight against New York.
