John Johnson discusses whether you should add Malik Willis to your rosters at the quarterback position in fantasy football from the waiver wire for Week 2 of 2024.
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep 2-QB Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 0% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis may get the chance to start now that fellow QB Jordan Love (knee) is injured, but don't bother picking him up. Even for 2QB leagues, Willis hasn't shown the potential for fantasy football relevance. He's a terrible QB.
While Willis has some rushing upside, he boasts a miserable PFF grade of 45.9. Willis had a chance to impress with the Tennessee Titans when Ryan Tannehill went down with an injury in 2022, but he looked and played terribly. Often there are NFL players who stick around because they haven't seen the field enough.
Last week vs the Eagles he had a shot at a Hail Mary play but didn't even make the throw in time before getting sacked.

He's an inexperienced QB who showed bad play the past two years being thrust into the starting job after one week. He does have some rushing upside. In deep Superflex leagues, it's possible he could be worth starting if he gets one touchdown and has some rushing and passing production, but that's about it.
Because of quarterbacks' outsized importance in Superflex leagues, he's a solid add if you have an injury at the position (see Love) or got unlucky drafting someone like Bryce Young. In 1 QB league, he's better off as a free agent until he shows any kind of NFL potential.

Wide receivers on waivers are always interesting players to try to snag. They can be hugely boom-or-bust players, especially in PPR leagues, where receptions count for a full point.
