FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/13/18): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

This Tuesday slate is an ugly one with point guard and power forward standing out as particularly ugly positions to fill. The status of key Oklahoma City players Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook will go a long way to clearing this slate up a bit, as Raymond Felton, Patrick Patterson, and Alex Abrines could potentially become viable punt/cheap plays.

Regardless, my core lineup will be made up of James Harden and Jimmy Butler. From there, we'll need to fill in with value that could go a number of different directions based on news throughout the day. Along with Oklahoma City, Dallas and San Antonio will be two other teams to follow closely that should open some value up throughout the day.

Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/13/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Dennis Schroder - PG, @MIL ($7,600)

The Bucks have been up and down against opposing point guards of late. Over their last 10 games, they have allowed only 29.7 FD points to opposing point guards, one of the stingiest marks in the league. On the other hand, over their past five games, they have allowed opposing point guards to score 45.1 FD points per game. That mark places them more among the middle of the pack, but when put together with Schroeder’s recent bump in minutes and ability to get to the free-throw line, it makes him an interesting play on this relatively thin slate at the PG position.

James Harden - SG, @MIN ($11,300)

The Timberwolves have been fairly strong defensively this season and that hasn’t been any different against opposing shooting guards. However, that has changed over both a 10 and five game sample as they have allowed 45.6 FD and 51.6 FD points to opposing shooting guards respectively in those spans. There never needs to be much extra incentive to play Harden other than the fact that he is one of the best fantasy assets in the game, so the positive matchup makes him a building block in lineups for Tuesday’s slate.

Wesley Matthews - SG, vs. SAC ($5,700)

Beside Harden, the options at shooting guard leave me uninspire. That said, I’ll look to find a relatively safe floor player that still has upside at a cheap price. Matthews fits that mold well as he recorded at least 20 FD points in each of his past seven games while also to performances over 30 points. Make sure he’s in the lineup as he is battling a back injury, but his probable tag suggests he’ll be in the lineup on Tuesday.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jimmy Butler - SF, vs. HOU ($9,700)

Butler is my second core play behind Harden as he has illustrated the ability to meet value easily at his price, topping 50 FD points in three of his past five games. Meanwhile, the Rockets have gotten gashed by opposing small forwards in the absence of Trevor Ariza. This game should be a great battle between the Rockets and Timberwolves and I want each of the studs in my FanDuel lineups on this slate.

Trey Lyles - PF, vs. SA ($5,600)

Lyles is one of the cheapest places to turn at power forward and still feel safe on Tuesday’s slate. The Spurs are still a tough matchup thanks to one of the slowest paces in the league, but they are likely to rest the majority of their prominent big men. LaMarcus Aldridge has already been ruled out and it seems that Pau Gasol is a likely candidate to also sit, so the Denver bigs should have a nice opportunity in an otherwise poor matchup.

Also Consider: Bam Adebayo - PF, @TOR ($5,400)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Tristan Thompson - C, @OKC ($4,500)

Thompson isn’t exactly a go-to name in fantasy circles but he has quietly taken advantage of two positive matchups of late, returning over 6X value twice in the past week. A more crowded Cavs rotation is a bit of a concern but he got 28 minutes on Sunday even with a full roster. The Thunder are very likely to be short handed again on Tuesday so Thompson should have some favorable conditions to work in, making him a sneaky value on a slate where that will be needed.
