Brian Robinson Jr. Could See Larger Role with Top Running Back Questionable
San Francisco 49ers running back Brian Robinson Jr. could see a larger role in their Week 15 matchup over the Tennessee Titans. Even though top running back Christian McCaffrey was off the Friday injury report due to an illness, he was then given a questionable tag on Saturday due to a back injury and is in danger of missing Sunday's contest. While reports suggest McCaffrey is expected to play, Robinson would be in store for a massive workload if he were to sit out. Over the 49ers' last five games with McCaffrey in the lineup, Robinson is averaging 7.2 carries and 36.8 rushing yards per game, compared to his season-long averages of 5.5 and 25.2, respectively. Without the touchdowns like those he scored in Weeks 9 and 10, Robinson is a non-factor in fantasy football. Despite the lack of production, Robinson is a must-stash handcuff heading into the fantasy football playoffs given McCaffrey's injury history. If the superstar running back faces a setback on Sunday and is unable to suit up, Robinson would carry must-start RB2 upside in the opening week of the fantasy playoffs.
