Outfield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 9 (2025)

Jose Caballero - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Frank's outfield fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 9 of 2025 (May 26 through June 1). Consider picking up and streaming these free-agent outfielders.

On this page, you'll read my Week 9 fantasy baseball outfielder waiver wire pickups, which focus on games from May 26 to June 1 of the 2025 MLB season. This week is highlighted by players from the only two teams with seven-game schedules: the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.

The players featured in this article are a combination of standard formats and deeper leagues, using roster percentages from Yahoo! (11-50 percent for shallow leagues and 10 percent or less for deeper leagues).

These outfielder waiver wire pickups are either one-week streamers or have upside to stick on your roster. With that in mind, let's dive into my Week 9 fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues

Chandler Simpson, Tampa Bay Rays (28% rostered)

Take advantage of the Rays' seven-game schedule by picking up Chandler Simpson for a speed boost. This is an outfielder who has swiped 13 bags on the season, including six in his last six games.

While you're not going to get any power from this bat, if your team can handle that, it makes sense to grab Simpson, who can put you over the top in speed.

This is a rookie who can legitimately lead MLB in stolen bases.

Miguel Vargas, Chicago White Sox (17% rostered)

Miguel Vargas has had a productive month, slashing .258/.329/.545 with six homers in 18 games during May (heading into Friday's action).

This is a young hitter who is making the most of everyday playing time. It also helps that you can fire up Vargas at third base as well.

The White Sox schedule is highlighted by three games at Camden Yards next weekend, which is a spot where we could see Vargas go yard, given the hitter-friendly environment.

Jose Caballero, Tampa Bay Rays (14% rostered)

Jose Caballero is like his teammate Simpson in that he can provide elite production in stolen bases. The versatile player has six steals in his last seven games.

You can use Caballero at second base, third base, shortstop, and outfield in Yahoo! leagues, making him a valuable piece for your roster.

What's great here is that we've seen an uptick in playing time for Caballero, as he's suited up in 10 of the last 11 games.

Daulton Varsho, Toronto Blue Jays (14% rostered)

It's become a weekly occurrence for Daulton Varsho to be included in my outfield waiver wire column. The Blue Jays center fielder will continue to be a fixture in this article until he's rostered in more leagues.

Since returning from injury, Varsho came into Friday's game with a .615 slugging percentage, seven home runs, and one stolen base in 17 games.

With seven games on tap for the Blue Jays, you have to love the spot for Varsho.

Gavin Sheets, San Diego Padres (14% rostered)

What a shrewd move signing Gavin Sheets during spring training was for the Padres. The former White Sox is currently slashing .286/.333/.497 with eight homers in 45 games.

While Sheets faces three lefties in his six-game week, this is the type of pickup who can stick on your roster because of the power upside.

We've seen Sheets bat in the five or six spot, giving him plenty of opportunities for RBI while hitting behind Fernando Tatis Jr, Luis Arraez, Manny Machado, Jackson Merrill, and Xander Bogaerts.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Deeper Leagues

Robert Hassell III, Washington Nationals (6% rostered)

Robert Hassell III has suited up in both games since being called up to the big leagues, batting seventh in the Nationals order.

This is an outfielder who can chip in some power and provide some speed, as highlighted by his four homers and nine steals in 175 plate appearances at Triple-A this year.

If Hassell can perform well, there's a chance that he can stick on the Nationals roster for the long haul.

Addison Barger, Toronto Blue Jays (6% rostered)

Addison Barger continues to showcase impressive batted ball metrics, featuring a 13.4% barrel rate.

You can deploy Barger at third base, giving him added versatility to your team. This is a hitter who has two multi-hit games in his last three.

Fire up Barger for the Jays seven-game schedule this week. There's a good chance that he can maintain consistent playing time as the new primary third baseman for Toronto.

Kameron Misner, Tampa Bay Rays (3% rostered)

Kameron Misner is a one-week streamer to take advantage of the Rays' seven-game schedule. This is an outfielder who is often benched against lefties, but he'll only have to face two of them this week.

Misner has an underwhelming .235/.290/.394 slash, but the four homers and five steals are intriguing due to the multi-category production.

If you're in a deeper league, Misner makes sense to take advantage of the favorable schedule.

Nathan Lukes, Toronto Blue Jays (1% rostered)

Here's a sneaky pickup for you in Nathan Lukes, who has exceeded expectations for the Blue Jays this year, slashing .265/.374/.434 with four home runs in 34 games.

Lukes has gone 5-for-12 with a homer in his last three games, making him worth a look for Toronto's seven-game schedule.

You have to love the plate discipline from Lukes so far, featuring an impressive 12.7% walk rate and 12.7% strikeout rate. It seems like the Blue Jays have found a key contributor here. Pick him up to see where this goes.

Denzel Clarke, Athletics (1% rostered)

The Athletics called up Denzel Clarke on Friday, set to use the 25-year-old as their new center fielder. This is a hitter who put up a 123 wRC+ with seven steals in 133 plate appearances at Triple-A this year.

While there hasn't been any power this season, we saw Clarke slug 13 homers with 36 steals in 478 plate appearances at Double-A last season. If you want some multi-category upside, Clarke is worth a look, especially since he gets to play in the bandbox that is Sutter Health Park.

The A's have six games this upcoming week, taking on the Astros and Blue Jays, each of which come on the road. Pick up Clarke to see if he can make an immediate impact on the A's. If he struggles, you can cut bait and look elsewhere.
