Tyler Lockett Top Landing Spots: 2025 NFL Free Agency Outlook

Tyler Lockett - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Which teams are potential landing spots for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett for fantasy football? Quincy breaks down all the top landing spots for Tyler Lockett.

Former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has yet to find a team in this free agent cycle. Lockett is a Seattle legend having spent 10 years with the team. He was often one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league. Over his ten seasons, he has racked up 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns during that span. He has been a huge member of Seattle's locker room and community. Many fans and player alike will miss watching No. 16 on Sundays.

Unfortunately, all good things must end as Lockett's production came to a screeching halt in 2024. Last season he only caught 49 passes for 600 yards and two touchdowns. Former offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb shifted his focus to Jaxon Smith-Njigba during the season. Lockett was essentially a non-factor in the offense over the latter half of the season and was ultimately released this offseason.

Lockett can still bring some level of juice to an offense in a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver role. He will be 33-years-old this season but we have seen plenty of receivers deliver solid production well into their 30s. Just look at how well Adam Thielen has performed in Carolina. Lockett's 2024 production was well below his standards but it was solid for a No. 3 wide receiver. Let's dive in and see who could use Lockett's services in 2025.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have been curious this offseason. Despite significant reported interest from DK Metcalf, the Chargers did not deliver the draft capital necessary to land him. They still find themselves in search of help at their wide receiver position. Currently Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are their best options.

Lockett could lineup opposite of Johnston with McConkey in the slot. He would give quarterback Justin Herbert a reliable veteran presence and downfield threat. He could also stay on the west coast.

Lockett is unlikely to come with a large price tag. If the Chargers are serious about being contenders, Lockett is a guy they should have significant interest in. They would likely need to make one more move at the position but Lockett could certainly give them a year or two of solid production.

Arizona Cardinals

Why not take a crack at your old team twice a year? The Cardinals are in need of a No. 2 option opposite Marvin Harrison Jr. This landing spot would likely afford Lockett a huge role while remaining in the only division he has ever known.

The Cardinals have a solid offensive nucleus in place and could legitimately compete this season. Running back James Conner leads the way with tight end Trey McBride in the fold and Harrison on the outside. Quarterback Kyler Murray needs another reliable target who will always be where he expects him to be without excuses.

The Cardinals seem poised to add a free agent wide receiver given the shallow nature of the position in the draft and other holes they would likely like to fill with all their draft capital. While there has not been anything reported on this possibility, this landing spot could emerge as a top option for Lockett based on logic alone.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City has gone the retread route a couple times over the last couple years and it has not always worked out. However, without any obvious paths to drafting a true No. 1 wide receiver, Lockett would be a nice addition to a wide receiver room that already has an ascending Xavier Worthy, and Rashee Rice returning from injury.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes loves to dice up zone coverage with his connection to tight end Travis Kelce. Lockett is as good as anyone in the league at finding holes in zones and playing off schedule with a quarterback out of the pocket. There is a real fit here with the playing style of Mahomes.

Kansas City would afford Lockett a chance to compete for his first Super Bowl. Lockett happened to enter the league just after Seattle's Super Bowl runs and he never advanced past the Divisional Round with the team. Although Lockett was phased out of Seattle's offense in 2024, he did not necessarily show signs of slowing down significantly over the first half of the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in dire need of receiver help after trading wide receiver Christian Kirk and cutting tight end Evan Engram. Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is clearly a stud but he cannot do everything on his own. Not to mention, quarterback Trevor Lawrence will need a lot of help this season.

Lockett would be a great locker room addition for a team with a new head coach and a young offense. Jacksonville would also likely provide Lockett with a chance at a No. 2 wide receiver role. Thomas' presence as a true alpha wide receiver would open up lanes for Lockett to operate. He would not need to play like the young version of himself to have great success.

Jacksonville projects to be a team with a chance at making the playoffs. They play in a weak division and were in the playoffs just two seasons ago. They are not one wide receiver away from being contenders, but Lockett would certainly be a positive addition to this team.

Las Vegas Raiders

Could Lockett look to reunite with his old head coach, Pete Carroll? The Raiders are nowhere near contention, but they have a wide receiver problem with Jakobi Meyers currently leading the room. Meyers is a quality player, but this team needs reinforcements.

Lockett has familiarity with the Raiders' coaching staff and new quarterback, Geno Smith, who was traded this past weekend. While many players at this stage in their careers are interested in competing for titles, connections in the NFL can go a long way towards

The Raiders could certainly sneak in as a potential option for Lockett. While his motivations have not been made public, one must assume that he and Smith have at least talked about the prospect of continuing on together in Vegas. The Raiders are another dark horse candidate for Lockett's services.

Denver Broncos

This article may as well be the AFC West's quest for Tyler Lockett. However, it is true that every team in that division has a clear need at wide receiver and a reason for fit with Lockett. The Broncos have a young and ascending quarterback in Bo Nix. If they want to maximize his talents while he is young and cheap, adding a player like Lockett would boost Nix's development.

Outside of Courtland Sutton, the Broncos do not have much to offer in the way of wide receivers. They just added Evan Engram as a tight end option, but they need a true outside threat. Lockett would be a great downfield threat for Nix while Engram works underneath and Sutton occupies the middle of the field.

While elite receivers are always great to have, one cannot underestimate the presence of a savvy veteran. Lockett is always on time and exactly where a quarterback needs him to be. He would be fantastic for Nix as he heads into his second season.
