Mike Gesicki is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for tight ends. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki was once considered a rising star. However, he never became a weekly option for fantasy players because of quarterback play and lack of targets. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened this season. Gesicki is the TE9 over the first three weeks, averaging 7.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
After a quiet Week 1 performance, the veteran has played well over the past two weeks. He had seven receptions on nine targets for 91 receiving yards in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs as Joe Burrow’s go-to receiver.

Many expected him to slip into the background in Week 3 with Tee Higgins making his season debut. However, Gesicki had another solid performance, totaling four receptions on five targets for 47 receiving yards, scoring 6.7 fantasy points.
Gesicki isn’t a must-add tight end off the waiver wire in standard-size leagues. Ja'Marr Chase and Higgins will see most of the targets moving forward, with Andrei Iosivas likely being the team’s third option. Yet, the veteran tight end has enough upside to be a streaming option, especially with the bye weeks starting in Week 5.
