The Seattle Seahawks are a fantasy football D/ST waiver wire pickup and streamer. Week 4 (2023) fantasy football team defenses - free agent waiver wire adds.
BALLER MOVE: 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 45% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Seahawks' defense has been very shaky so far in the 2023 season, but that was also the case last season. They started 2022 slow, giving up 84 points in Weeks 4 and 5, but things would improve as they would go on and hold some of the best offenses in the NFL below their season average, like the Cardinals, Chargers, Giants, and even the eventual NFL champion Chiefs.
If you're a believer that history repeats itself, this means that the Seahawks' defense is bound to get better in the coming weeks, especially due to some of the easier games they'll have coming up. Former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams will be making his season debut as well. Adams only played one game in 2022.

Another improvement over 2022 is the return of future Hall of Famer Bobby Wagner. Wagner has been on fire to start this season (on pace to record 187 tackles) and has chemistry with Adams. In the two seasons that Adams and Wagner played together (2021 and 2020), the Seahawks' defense finished 15th and 16th in points per drive respectively. They finished 24th in that category without them last year.
Looking ahead to their schedule, the Seahawks will be playing some of the worst offenses in the league. Their next game will be against the Giants, who are the fifth-worst offense in the NFL (in terms of points per drive). They have also shown their ability to dominate them in the past. After that, they'll be off to Cincinnati, who are off to a terrible start and have the second-worst points per drive in the NFL.
They will also play some teams who are average offensively and could be shut down at any moment, like the Cardinals (twice), Browns, and Commanders. They have shown the ability to hold their own in the past against contending teams too, and could be a very solid pick as a DST in the following weeks.

Wide receivers on waivers are always interesting players to try to snag. They can be hugely boom-or-bust players, especially in PPR leagues, where receptions count for a full point.
