Shohei Ohtani No Longer Starting on the Mound on Wednesday
Shohei Ohtani was scheduled to start in Wednesday's game on the road against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he's no longer on the bump and will be replaced by right-hander Emmet Sheehan, according to Kirsten Watson. Ohtani will still serve as the designated hitter and will bat leadoff against right-hander Braxton Ashcraft. It's unclear why the Dodgers are moving away from the Japanese All-Star as the starting pitcher on Wednesday, but he's obviously healthy enough to hit. We should get a better update from manager Dave Roberts, but for now, fantasy managers won't have Ohtani as a pitcher for their lineups on Wednesday. Sheehan is 5-2 on the year with a 3.56 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 54 strikeouts in 48 innings over his 10 outings (eight starts) and makes for a decent streamer in a plus matchup.
