Outfield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 3 (2025)

TJ Friedl - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Frank's outfield fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 3 of 2025 (April 14 through April 20). Consider picking up and streaming these free-agent outfielders.

Here are our Week 3 fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for outfielders, which focus on games from April 14 to April 20 of the 2025 MLB season.

In this article, you will find roster percentages from Yahoo! formats. There will be five recommendations for standard formats -- featuring players rostered between 11 percent to 50 percent of leagues -- as well as five picks for deeper leagues (10 percent rostered or lower).

The outfielders listed on this page either have potential long-term value due to their profile or they can give you a short-term boost due to a favorable schedule. So, without further ado, let's take a closer look at the Week 3 outfielder waiver wire picks for the 2025 MLB season.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues

TJ Friedl, Cincinnati Reds (35 percent rostered)

TJ Friedl came into Sunday's action on a heater, going 8-for-26 with five runs, one homer, four RBI, and one stolen base in his last seven games. The Reds outfielder has been entrenched in the leadoff spot and played in 14 of 15 games.

Cincinnati gets three games at home in the bandbox that is Great American Ball Park this week. That is followed by three at Camden Yards, which is likely to play a bit more hitter-friendly this year due to adjustments to the dimensions. If you need some runs and speed, Friedl makes a lot of sense.

Cam Smith, Houston Astros (27 percent rostered)

Cam Smith got off to a slow start to his rookie season, which may have forced your league mate to drop him. This is where you pounce, as the Astros outfielder is showing signs of getting out of his slump, going 5-for-14 with two runs, one homer, five RBI, and one steal in his last four games.

Houston plays six games next week, but only five are against righties, which is good news for Smith, who sometimes stays on the bench against left-handers. While this is a bottom-of-the-order bat, the upside is there due to the prospect pedigree.

Zac Veen, Colorado Rockies (10 percent rostered)

Zac Veen has the prospect pedigree with power and speed upside, including 21 steals in only 65 games in the minors last year. Since being recalled to the big leagues, Veen has suited up in all five games, including one at leadoff and another in the two-hole.

While he's only gone 3-for-19 during this stretch, you have to be patient with a young hitter like this. Veen can run wild on the basepaths, which makes him an intriguing fantasy asset. Pick him up if he's still available in your league.

Christopher Morel, Tampa Bay Rays (20 percent rostered)

Christopher Morel is starting to get more playing time, suiting up in six consecutive games heading into Sunday. During this stretch, the former Cub has gone 6-for-23 with three runs, one homer, two RBI, and two steals.

There's a power upside mixed with a bit of speed here. What's great is that you can also fire up Morel at second base and third base in Yahoo! leagues. The schedule looks good for the Rays this week as well since they're playing seven games, each of which will come at George M. Steinbrenner Field, which is a hitter-friendly environment.

Michael Conforto, Los Angeles Dodgers (19 percent rostered)

Welcome to Michael Conforto week. The left-handed outfielder has a 158 wRC+ vs. righties this season. This is a strong-side platoon bat who will see six righties in Week 3, including three games vs. the lowly Rockies.

We've seen Conforto bat fifth or even cleanup at times, which gives him a terrific opportunity to rack up counting stats. If you're in OBP leagues, Conforto is even more appealing since he has posted double-digit walk rates in eight of his 10 seasons. Pick up Conforto for a potential HR+RBI boost this week.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Deeper Leagues

Jake Mangum, Tampa Bay Rays (10 percent rostered)

Jake Mangum is a nice source of speed for you, as he's swiped five bags in only 11 games. This is a hitter who put up 20 stolen bases in 104 games at Triple-A last season, so we could see him continue to rack up steals. You also have to love the Rays' schedule this week, with seven games at home.

The issue is that this is a 29-year-old career minor leaguer, so there's not much long-term upside. That said, take advantage of his production right now if you need some more stolen bases.

Heston Kjerstad, Baltimore Orioles (6 percent rostered)

Heston Kjerstad has suited up for the Orioles in seven of their last nine games entering Sunday's action. We also saw him hit a two-run homer against the Blue Jays on April 12. While he's mostly hitting in the seven spot, there's power in this bat that could move him up the lineup if he can produce.

There's nothing left for Kjerstad to prove in the minors, so it's a good idea for the O's to continue giving him a shot. Baltimore gets six games at home this week, with three apiece vs. the Guardians and Reds.

Max Kepler, Philadelphia Phillies (5 percent rostered)

Max Kepler continues to get a lot of playing time for the Phillies, suiting up in 12 of 14 games. While he only has one homer with zero steals, this type of volume in plate appearances is valuable for your deeper roster.

It's a great time to pick up Kepler because the Phillies have seven games this week, each at home. This includes four vs. the Giants and three vs. the Marlins. There's a good chance that Kepler gets on track in the power department this week. Fire him up to secure an outfielder with playing time.

Andy Pages, Los Angeles Dodgers (3 percent rostered)

Andy Pages is starting to pick up the pace for the Dodgers, homering in back-to-back games on April 8 and 9. Los Angeles has six games this week, including three against the Rockies, so Pages has a good chance to keep it rolling.

While he's been a fixture in the eight or nine spot, the Dodgers lineup is stacked enough for that not to matter too much. Perhaps Pages can work his way up the lineup if he can maintain this production. I'd pick him up to see where this goes.

Kameron Misner, Tampa Bay Rays (3 percent rostered)

Kameron Misner is another Rays outfielder who has come out of nowhere to provide some waiver wire appeal. This is a 27-year-old outfielder who put up 17 homers and 30 steals in 117 games at Triple-A last year, so there's some power and speed upside.

So far with the Rays, Misner is batting .361 with one homer and one steal. It's clear that this is a hot bat, so it's a good idea to ride the wave. We also get to take advantage of the Rays' favorable schedule here, as they have seven games at home. I wouldn't be surprised to see Misner get a homer or two this week.
