BALLER MOVE: 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 4% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Everyone has been sleeping on the Texans' defense, which is a shame. Sure, they don't have the volume stats like sacks and interceptions, and they have conceded seven rushing TDs, but the way that they have been shutting down the passing game so far has been very impressive.
Let's not forget that the Texans had a good passing defense in 2022 as well. Since the NFL is a passing league these days, they managed to finish 14th in points per drive and were the 14th-best DST in fantasy football last season.
Houston Texans have outscored their previous 2 opponents a combined 67-23

They have also improved against the run thanks to HC DeMeco Ryans. Sure, they have given up the most rushing TDs so far this season, but they are 19th in rushing yards allowed, which is marginally better than 2022, as they finished dead last in that category.
They had a very difficult schedule last season, which has become much easier in 2023. Just look at their schedule in the coming weeks. They will be playing against the entire NFC South consecutively, and three of these teams are challenged offensively.
The Falcons are 25th in points per drive, the Saints are 28th, and the Panthers are 27th in that category. After that, they will face the Bengals, who are dead last in points per drive, though we expect that to improve. Other games include a game against the Jaguars (23rd), the Jets (29th), the Browns (24th), the Colts (20th), and two games against the Titans (21st). This is a very good schedule, and the Texans' defense can take advantage.
