Scott Engel reviews his latest FFPC Dynasty Draft, highlighting his top pick and identifying many fantasy football sleepers and value picks along the way.
My 2026 fantasy football season recently started early, as I completed two rookie/free-agent drafts in existing leagues on the Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) high-stakes league platform. I share the results of one draft here to give you my thought processes and insights during a 10-round draft, where I was slotted with the second overall pick.
My analysis here is positioned to help players identify value picks among rookies and deeper veterans in all formats, including new dynasty leagues, where many of these players can be picked in the early teen rounds and beyond. My format here was dynasty best ball superflex, but I will be targeting these players in many other types of leagues this season.
This article is not only a mock review. It is also a rundown of some of my favorite deeper sleepers, especially in dynasty leagues. Some fantasy players still may be getting ready for rookie drafts, as there are leagues that hold their drafts closer to the season. If you want to join a new dynasty league now, the FFPC has open registration at all price levels and in various league formats. If you register for the FFPC through RotoBaller here, a $25 discount is applied to the first team purchased.
Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! The King’s Fantasy Football Dynasty Best Ball Superflex FFPC Draft Review
Notes: 10-round PPR with 1.5 points per reception for tight ends. Draft does not snake; picks are strictly linear. Starting lineups include two RBs, two WRs, and two flex spots. Four points for a passing TD. The analysis here applies to many types of leagues, not just the one type covered in this article.
I traded into and out of some draft positions before and during the draft, so you won’t see one pick in every round.
Round 1, Pick 2: RB Jadarian Price, Seattle Seahawks
Since this was a dynasty rookie draft in an ongoing league, I had to consider the makeup of my current roster, and an apparent position of need became the priority over best player available. Only Jeremiyah Love was off the board, and I could have taken any top wide receiver I wanted.
But I had only three RBs on my roster (Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Chris Rodriguez Jr., and Zach Charbonnet) and the WR room already featured Tetairoa McMillan, Garrett Wilson, Matthew Golden, and Parker Washington to start out. There was a significant drop-off at RB after Price was taken, and I already was rostering one Seahawks RB.
During an interview with The Athletic, former #Seahawks scout Scott McCloughan weighed in on the potential of newly drafted RB Jadarian Price:
“I’m telling you: Price is going to be a better player than (Jeremiah) Love. I think he’s Nick Chubb, who we took in Cleveland and who… pic.twitter.com/cpjFxPLU0g
— Seahawks Wired (@seahawks_wired_) May 3, 2026
The Seattle rookie is ranked just outside the top 20 in RotoBaller’s Dynasty Rankings, and he has the upside to at least be in the top 15 after his rookie season. Price should open the season as the pure lead RB on an offense where every other starter is projected to return. Once Charbonnet returns, I will have the Seahawks RB room locked up.
Later in the draft, I traded Darnell Mooney and swapped sixth-rounders for Emanuel Wilson and picked George Holani in the eighth round. The Seahawks led the NFC in run/pass ratio last season, and Price has good vision, elusive cutback moves, and the ability to rip off some big gainers. My full fantasy football scouting report on Price for dynasty and seasonal purposes is now available on Seahawks.com.
In a startup dynasty league, if you focus more on other positions early, you can start considering Price as an RB2 in the fifth-round range. Keep in mind that Charbonnet, who is on the mend from a major knee injury, is in a contract year. By his second season, Price could be the clear leader at RB for Seattle.
Round 2, Pick 9: QB Ty Simpson, Los Angeles Rams
In an FFPC superflex dynasty league, quarterbacks are highly valued and are hard to trade for. Simpson has drawn comparisons to Brock Purdy or Jared Goff in terms of his passing. That outlook may position him to eventually emerge as at least a back-end QB1. I will wait the two to three years required here, as I had two second-round picks while trading back from earlier in the round.
Simpson will learn under Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay, won’t be rushed, and this pick can pay off in three years. You invest for the future in dynasty leagues, and that is what I did here. In startup dynasty drafts, the 11th or 12th round is a good point to target Simpson. In superflex dynasty leagues, I might aim to get both him and Stafford to be guaranteed the QB of a McVay offense for a long time to come.
Round 2, Pick 12: QB Carson Beck, Arizona Cardinals
I was already rostering Jacoby Brissett as one of my superflex QBs. While I might have taken Beck a little early, I wanted to see if I could wrap up the two most appealing QBs on the Cardinals roster. It may just be a matter of time before Beck starts for Arizona, and while he is not an upside target, he could become a respectable superflex QB option.
Heck, I drafted Tyler Shough last year in this superflex league, and now I am getting continuous trade offers for him. Beck may only be worth a draft pick in startup dynasty superflex leagues. He cannot be ignored in that format because, as Shough proved last year, QBs who are not highly regarded coming into the league could surprise.
Round 3, Pick 2: WR Antonio Williams, Washington Commanders
Back in my regular No. 2 slot in this round, I went with a potential value play in Williams. There is an immediate open path to the No. 2 WR role in Washington, and Williams projects to be a reliable PPR option who can also bust loose after the catch. If you are in the double-figure/teen rounds of a new dynasty league draft, go with Williams for his early career promise.
Round 3, Pick 4: RB Demond Claiborne, Minnesota Vikings
This is a boom-or-bust rookie RB pick that is even suited more for best ball formats. Claiborne does not model as a regular ball-carrier, but he can score from anywhere on the field at any time. His ceiling could be as a timeshare RB with frequent big-play potential.
Round 3, Pick 12: WR Jack Bech, Las Vegas Raiders
Bech was left on dynasty free agency after a quiet rookie season, but now there are real opportunities to win a starting WR job in Las Vegas. This is a name to consider in the final rounds of seasonal drafts, and about the 15th round or slightly later in new dynasty drafts. Bech could turn out to be the Raiders’ most frequently targeted WR for PPR purposes.
Round 4, Pick 2: TE Chigoziem Okonkwo, Washington Commanders
This pick could end up being a steal, so always remember to thoroughly check through the veteran free-agent list in a “rookie” draft. The FFPC format features tight end premium scoring, making this even more of an intriguing pick.
Chig Okonkwo cannot be stopped!

With Tennessee, Okonkwo seemed to be an annual fantasy sleeper type who never delivered on that labeling. Working with Jayden Daniels could finally lead to a breakout season in 2026, though. Okonkwo will turn 27 years old this season, and I tend to view dynasty targets in ranges of three-plus seasons, not five or 10 down the line.
The ex-Titan could prove to be a viable fantasy player over the next three to four years, and I would also consider him in the mid-teen rounds in new dynasty league drafts.
Round 4, Pick 12: WR Chris Brazzell II, Carolina Panthers
I really like Brazzell as a 6-foot-5 downfield weapon who can fit as a complement to McMillan in Carolina. If you can get him in the 13th or 14th round of a dynasty startup draft, go for the potential upside. The dynasty floor is uncertain, but I’ll take the chance on the ceiling.
Round 5, Pick 2: TE Eli Raridon, New England Patriots
Raridon might be the eventual replacement for Hunter Henry, and he is a complete TE in terms of being a quality blocker with some athleticism. Because the FFPC emphasizes TE scoring more, I pushed Raridon up the board a bit for some more depth at the position. I see his value topping out as an eventual borderline fantasy TE1/2.
Round 6, Pick 8: QB Drew Allar, Pittsburgh Steelers
Allar has already drawn criticism as a third-round pick for the Steelers this year, but this is an eventual bet on talent and a possible opportunity. I already roster Aaron Rodgers, and if he helps Allar develop, I could keep the rookie passer on one of the final spots on my roster for now.
Round 8, Pick 2: WR Jalen Nailor, Las Vegas Raiders
This is a true sleeper pick in all formats, and now I have both of the Raiders’ possible gem picks at WR. Nailor has both TD and big-play promise and might be one of the top value picks of the 2026 fantasy football season. I believed I could wait on Nailor, and I did, and still landed him with a late pick.
#Raiders QB Kirk Cousins on Jalen Nailor
"I'm really excited about Jalen... every time Jalen got opportunities, he showed what he can do... I think he's capable of carrying a bigger role."
— Jesse Merrick - Silver & Black Sports Network (@JesseSBSN) April 8, 2026
The former Viking will no longer be buried on a depth chart, and he might be a regular TD threat in his first season in Las Vegas.
Round 8, Pick 4: RB George Holani, Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle coaching staff considers Holani as an internal favorite for depth, and this gave me all four of the Seahawks’ top RBs, in case of injury or depth chart changes.
Round 9, Pick 2: TE Marlin Klein, Houston Texans
Houston was heavily second-guessed for taking Klein in the second round. He is considered to be a project, but maybe the Texans front office sees something the analysts did not. I took the late chance because of FFPC TE scoring.
Round 9, Pick 4: Pittsburgh Steelers defense
Patrick Graham is the new coordinator, yet I expect this unit to still be aggressive and productive. This is my second unit, as I kept Seattle, too.
Round 10, Pick 2: K Trey Smack, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay actually traded up to the sixth round to use a draft pick on Smack this year, and the Packers have already cut Brandon McManus. When an NFL team actually drafts a kicker, I pay attention, as that guy might turn out to be a strong fantasy rookie. I will be targeting Smack in the final rounds of all fantasy football draft formats in 2026.
Round 10, Pick 4: Brenen Thompson, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
A big-play threat who is worth a final pick in a dynasty best ball format.
Notes from FFPC Best Ball Dynasty Draft 2
Here are some quick-hitting insights from my other FFPC Dynasty Best Ball rookie/free-agent draft. I was picking from the eighth spot.
I traded back to the last pick of the first round and went with the best player available, Eagles TE Eli Stowers. …Rashid Shaheed was the second of my second-round picks. I expect him to be more of a consistent offensive playmaker over a full season with Seattle. … I tabbed Kirk Cousins in the sixth round. He could start for the Raiders and should not be totally overlooked in any superflex drafts.
Cade Klubnik of the Jets was worthy of a dart throw in the seventh round. … With my final original pick in the 10th round, I picked Tyrod Taylor, as he is the direct NFL backup for my starter, Jordan Love. I sometimes handcuff QBs in superflex leagues.
I actually traded for two of the final picks in the 10th round, swapping future late-rounders for the selections because there were two more players I wanted to roster. Klein was one, and the other was New England WR Kyle Williams. There has been some local buzz surrounding Williams, who is a downfield target type. He is only entering his second NFL season.
