Jamie Steed previews EPL Matchday 27 of the 2024-25 season, starting on 2/25/2025. He previews each game from the English Premier League, picking bets and providing predictions for each game.

The EPL season rolls on, and we're bringing you our weekly article, which looks at betting picks and predictions for all games. Matchday 27 kicks off on Tuesday, February 25, with four fixtures. It culminates on Thursday, February 27, when West Ham United hosts Leicester City.

Every week, we'll offer a preview of all the games. We'll predict the outcome, give a score prediction, and pick our favorite play for all fixtures. Before you read on, remember these essential things: betting on sports should be fun. If you aren't having fun with it, stop. And never bet what you can't afford to lose.

We're bringing you more soccer content than ever before at RotoBaller. There are FPL, UCL, and DFS articles every week, along with our weekly betting picks and game previews article, all of which can be found here. Follow the team on X (@EuanFPL, @TheFPLManual, @df_solutions, @BellRoto, and yours truly @Baseball_Jimbo), and reach out to any of us if you ever have any soccer questions.

Matchday 26 Recap

The Premier League title race all but ended when Arsenal lost at home to West Ham United. Liverpool made the most of the slip-up by beating current Champions Manchester City. A win that also saw us bag a nice parlay.

Arsenal wasn't the only home team to suffer a surprise defeat. Bournemouth experienced the same fate, losing to Wolves. The Cherries weren't helped by a first-half red card. Five home teams blanked while 24 goals were scored by away sides. It remains to be seen if that trend continues...

Tuesday, February 25, 2025

Brighton (+110) vs. Bournemouth (+225) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Brighton 2 - 1 Bournemouth

Eight of Brighton's 12 home games have seen a goal at both ends. Bournemouth has scored in nine consecutive away games. Only Liverpool has scored more goals on their travels than the Cherries. We should see both teams scoring in this one and a repeat of the reverse fixture looks like a solid pick.

Crystal Palace (+155) vs. Aston Villa (+180) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1 – 1 Aston Villa

Both teams have scored in each of Palace's last seven home games. Villa has struggled defensively on their travels, conceding two or more in seven of their previous eight away games. Villa has scored in eight of their last nine EPL games so we'll back both teams to score in this game.

Wolves (+185) vs. Fulham (+150) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Wolves 1 – 2 Fulham

Fulham has scored two goals in each of their last five away games. Wolves have only blanked at home to sides currently in the top-3. I expect both teams to score but either side is capable of putting in a clunker and getting rolled over. So we'll take at least three total goals being scored as our play in this game.

Chelsea (-450) vs. Southampton (+1000) - 3:15 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Chelsea 4 – 0 Southampton

Chelsea's form hasn't been good lately. But they have only lost one of their last 11 EPL games at home. They scored at least twice in five of those games. Southampton has conceded 22 goals in their last seven EPL games and they look certain for relegation.

While I do expect Chelsea to win comfortably, keeping a clean sheet isn't a given. As a result, we'll take a home win with at least three total goals in the game. That will offer a safe but solid boost to our moneyline and over/under parlays.

Wednesday, February 26, 2025

Brentford (+100) vs. Everton (+260) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Brentford 1 – 1 Everton

Despite four consecutive away wins, scoring 12 goals in those games, Brentford has taken just one point in their last five home matches. Everton's form has moved them away from the relegation zone and they come into this fixture on the back of six games without defeat.

As impressive as Everton's form has been, they have conceded five goals in their last three games. In an intriguing contest, picking a winner is a tough call. We'll back both teams to score given the recent attacking prowess of the two sides and the vulnerability they've shown defensively.

Manchester United (-195) vs. Ipswich Town (+450) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Manchester United 2 – 1 Ipswich Town

United has lost five of their last six home games, conceding 14 goals in the process. Ipswich has scored in four straight games but conceded 19 goals in their last five EPL matches. I can't bring myself to back the home side to win. We'll play for a goal at each end given both sides' leaky defenses.

Nottingham Forest (+280) vs. Arsenal (+100) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Nottingham Forest 1 – 0 Arsenal

Forest's defeat on Sunday was their third in four games. All three losses came away from home. At The City Ground, Forest has taken 16 points from the last 18 points available. Arsenal's disappointing loss against West Ham ended their 15-game unbeaten run and their slim title chances.

All of the Gunners' main midfielders and forwards are either out injured or carrying injuries. Their main attacking threat right now is a 17-year-old with a total of five EPL starts to his name. The hosts look too well-priced to turn down so we'll back a home win in what should be a low-scoring affair.

Tottenham Hotspur (+270) vs. Manchester City (-125) - 2:30 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 3 – 2 Manchester City

In the last six seasons, Spurs have won six, drawn two, and lost three against City. Despite an impressive record and a mini resurgence in form, it would be very "spursy" of them to go and lose to the worst City team in a decade.

The last six league meetings between the two have seen a total of 24 goals. Both teams have scored in 11 of Spurs' 13 home games and nine of City's 13 away games. Hopefully, Erling Haaland is fit enough to play. If so, we'll take both teams to score and at least three total goals in the game.

Liverpool (-200) vs. Newcastle United (+450) - 3:15 p.m. EST

Score prediction: Liverpool 4 – 3 Newcastle United

This is a bit of a gut call. Historically, this game has been one of the most high-scoring and exciting fixtures in the league. In 2024, they played each other twice. The two games totaled 12 goals. Newcastle's last 13 EPL games have averaged 4.15 goals, including a 3-3 draw with Liverpool.

Liverpool has failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last five home games. They have scored at least twice in 11 of their 12 games at Anfield. We'll add all three outcomes to our parlays with a home win, over 2.5 total goals, and both teams scoring.

Thursday, February 27, 2025

West Ham United (-160) vs. Leicester City (+390) - 3:00 p.m. EST

Score prediction: West Ham United 3 – 1 Leicester City

Leicester's form has been dreadful since Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge. Leicester beat the Hammers in his first game as Leicester manager. Since then, the Foxes have lost 10 of 12 league games. They've failed to score in eight of their last 11 EPL fixtures.

I expect a comfortable home win. But I'm not confident enough that Leicester will score or that West Ham will score three times. That means we will just take West Ham winning to finish off the midweek action.
