No. 30 - New York Yankees

While the Yankees nearly took the crown in our initial ranking, they default to the bottom of the alternate ranking. The Yankees prefer to keep the "old school" mantra and avoid any alternate jerseys. While this could change, for now, the legendary franchise will continue to wear the same two jerseys throughout the entire 162-game season, which keeps them at the bottom of this ranking.

No. 29 - Los Angeles Angels

The Angels are likely more recognized for their alternative set. Their "primary" alternate jersey has become a popular jersey for them at home, as it is a standard red jersey with the team's "Angels" font printed across the front. This is similar to their regular jerseys, but is a bit brighter with the red shirt.

Their other option is slightly more distinctive, as it is a cream-colored jersey with the same text, spelling the club name along the front. While most alternate jerseys use a unique font, the Angels opt for the same one across all jerseys, which keeps them much lower on our list.

No. 28 - Detroit Tigers

The Tigers have only one "alternate" jersey in the 2026 season: their City Connect print. On Friday in Detroit, they wear a unique jersey with a dark blue base and lighter blue stripes along the front. Instead of referencing the club or city name, it reads "Motor City," a fun nod to Detroit's nickname.

While this jersey is not overly distinct, it does add a nice spin to the team's repertoire. However, in terms of volume, having only one option keeps them low on our list.

No. 27 - St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have some of the "sharpest" alternate jerseys in the game, but take a hit in our ranking, as neither is overly creative compared to the others we will look at. However, given that the team colors and logo still blend very well in these designs, they will sit just above this bottom tier.

The highlight of this three-jersey spread is their powder blue alternative. Like their home and away jerseys, this print features the iconic logo along the front but is set against a blue base that plays off the red and white tones surprisingly well.

No. 26 - Los Angeles Dodgers

While the Dodgers sat in the top 10 in our first ranking, given the simplicity and effectiveness of their home and away jerseys, their alternates do not reach the same level. Despite having three alternate jerseys for the 2026 season, none truly stand out and have emerged from the pack.

Two of them feature very similar designs to their standard jerseys, with their City Connect being the only one to stray from the standard design, adding a more "modern" twist to the classic print.

No. 25 - San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres are one of the teams on our list that has a more diverse set of four alternate jerseys. Despite having four, each has its own unique spin, with its City Connect jersey looking very different from the other three. Among their "regular" alternatives, two feature a camouflage design, while the other has a brown front with dark gold text, which pairs very well.

Their City Connect, on the other hand, is far different. In 2026, they will wear a white jersey with neon accents on the shoulders and socks with hints of teal and pink. While the jersey is bright, it is a stark contrast to their typical jersey and does not blend with the colors on the logo.

No. 24- Cleveland Guardians

The Guardians do not have the strongest set of standard uniforms, but their alternative set stands out. In 2026, the Guardians will wear three unique jerseys, one of which will feature their City Connect print. On typical days, they will occasionally mix in a red jersey with cursive writing and a sharp navy blue jersey with the Cleveland "C" printed on the front.

Their City Connect is not as strong as their alternatives, but it is quite unique. This jersey has a navy blue base but features large white text spelling "CLE" across the front. It is not as detailed as other City Connects, which keeps it in the bottom half.

No. 23 - Toronto Blue Jays

While their regular home/away jerseys are very simple, the Blue Jays took far more creative liberties with their alternates. For the 2026 season, the Blue Jays have three in their locker, including a City Connect print. Their first two alternate jerseys are simple in nature but add some much-needed color to their uniform, as they have a dark blue and light blue shirt with standard text along the front spelling the team name.

Their City Connects are far more disputed. Their current jersey is a black shirt, a far cry from their other sets, but it features unique blue and red text spelling the city name. While these jerseys do not evoke the words "Blue Jays," they add a nice spark to the Rogers Centre on Friday nights.

No. 22 - Washington Nationals

The Nationals have far more unique jerseys in their alternate set than in their standard set. This summer, the Nats will wear three different alternates, including their Friday night City Connect jersey. The first two alternates are more "standard" in another, but are quite sharp. One is a red base with the cursive "W" on the side, and the other is a dark blue jersey with the word "Nationals" spelled across.

What takes them down a bit is their City Connect. While it is a distinct print, the jersey is far different from their "Cherry Blossom 1.0" print, as it is now blue with an engraved blueprint of the District. If we were considering the first iteration of their City Connect jerseys, they would sit in the top 10.

No. 21 - Texas Rangers

The Rangers sat at the bottom of our standard ranking, given that both their home and away jerseys are nothing special. However, the alternatives move them up in this edition. Currently, the Rangers have three alternate uniforms, with each being a distinct color. They have two jerseys in different shades of blue (dark and light) and a white City Connect jersey worn on Fridays.

Their City Connect jersey is a standout in this group, with a cream base and a unique spin on the logo, which appears on the left side, while the jersey number is in red on the right. They recently revealed a City Connect "2.0" with a red base, but it has only been worn a handful of times during the young season.

No. 20 - Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have very simple home/away jerseys, but their alternates take some creative liberties. This summer, they have two alternatives, one of which is nearly a primary home jersey. This is a purple jersey with black text, spelling the team's city, with the jersey number just below it. While simple in nature, the purple matches very well with the black text.

However, the one that takes a bit of a hit is their City Connect jersey. While they did aim for a more distinct design here, the colors do not blend well, as it features a sky-blue top with a purple shade in the lower half of the shirt. The jersey numbers are in a strange orange/red color that strays too far away from the team's standard color palette.

No. 19 - Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates have three alternate jerseys, with two of them being very sharp, but their third option, their City Connect, brings them slightly down on this list. Their "primary" alternates play very well with their standard jerseys, as both feature black shirts with hints of gold, either in a logo or in cursive writing.

However, their City Connect is not as sharp and is instead one of the "loudest" in the group. This is a gold shirt with bold black lettering spelling "PGH." While it is simple from a design perspective, the blocky design does not look as clean as some of the other modernized City Connect jerseys.

No. 18 - Atlanta Braves

The Braves have three alternate jerseys in their 2026 collection. While their City Connect is one of the best in the sport, their other two "primary" alternatives are unimpressive, which keeps them lower on our list. Both of these alternatives use the same template, with the only difference being the jersey color (red or dark blue).

However, their City Connect jersey is white with hints of light blue and the iconic "A" written in cursive along the front. This is a very sharp jersey, simple in design but a great contrast to their typical spread. This design is also a callback to the team's history.

No. 17 - Tampa Bay Rays

Their regular home/away jerseys put them near the bottom of our first ranking, but they received a major boost in this edition, given the uniqueness of each of their alternatives. In 2026, the Tampa Bay Rays have three alternate jerseys, each unique and adding its own flair.

Among the three, their standout selection is the "Devil Rays" jersey, a callback to their previous name. This is a white jersey with the Devil Rays text on the front, in a rainbow color palette in cursive. This is one of the few "modern-day" jerseys that directly reference a previous name of a club.

No. 16 - Kansas City Royals

Despite having a relatively simple color palette in their logo, the Royals truly lean into each of their primary colors in their alternate jerseys, which keeps them near the middle of our ranking. Currently, the Royals have three alternates in their locker, with each having a distinct tone and coloring.

Among the group, their "power blue" is likely the most memorable. This leans into the lighter tone of blue and features sharp white cursive text along the front. Their City Connect jerseys move away from the lighter tones and feature a black front, with hints of power blue along the lining, which offers a nice contrast.

No. 15 - Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore's standard jerseys are more subtle, with the whites and greys serving as the foundation, with its orange and black in the backset. However, in their three alternates, the roles are flipped, and their iconic orange and black serve as the base of each jersey, making them stand out.

Among the three, the most notable jersey is their "second" alternate, which is a primarily black jersey with orange cursive letters spelling out the team's name. While it is very similar to their home jersey, the subtle hits of orange play well against the primary black jersey, making it one of the sharpest in the sport.

No. 14 - Houston Astros

When someone pictures the Houston Astros jerseys, they are likely to think of their alternates. Their primary alternative jersey is the orange jersey, which has become a staple for home games because it complements the dark blue undertones in the logo. Their other "primary" alternative is a dark blue jersey that lacks much character.

Their City Connect, though, gives them a nice boost. This year's edition is a nod to the Astros' former logo, which features a star outline along the front with the text "Stros" above it. This is the perfect way to modernize a throwback jersey, as many teams below them in our ranking have done.

No. 13 - Minnesota Twins

Minnesota's standard jerseys were very sharp and sat near the middle of the pack in our ranking. However, when examining their alternatives, they see a slight jump, as all three jerseys are not only unique but also take the necessary creative liberties to stand out.

Their standard two alternatives are a navy blue jersey with red text and a sharp "cream" white jersey with navy blue script, stating "Twin Cities " instead of the club name or city, which is a nice twist. Their City Connects appear odd from the outside, but actually pay great respect to the city of Minnesota. It is a blue jersey that pays homage to the land of the 1,000 lakes and has hints of gold along the lining. While it is not indicative of the team's standard colors, this modification is very well put together.

No. 12 - Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins lean into their unique color palette in their standard jersey, but go even deeper into their alternates, which keep them high on our list. While their colors are unique compared to the other clubs, their alternates blend them surprisingly well, creating a diverse spread for game days.

They currently have three, but their most notable is their current City Connect jersey. This print looks to the "Miami Vice" design, featuring a black front with hints of turquoise and pink along the socks and lining. It is far from "traditional," but given the creative liberties taken, they deserve a spot in the top half.

No. 11 - Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are one of the few clubs in the 2026 season that only have two alternate jerseys, but they made both prints count. Their go-to alternate is a blue jersey featuring the "walking cub" logo on the front instead of the "C" logo on the standard home jersey.

Their City Connect is also simple, but one of the most aesthetically pleasing in the game. It pays great homage to the team's original logo, uses powder blue as the base, and is worn during the iconic Friday afternoon games at Wrigley Field. This is a great contrast to the dark blue that features on the other three designs.

No. 10 - San Francisco Giants

Given that the Giants have one of the most distinct color palettes in the game, their alternate jerseys can truly stand out among the pack. In 2026, the Giants have three alternates in their library, each highlighting different aspects of their logo. Their most notable alternative features an orange jersey with black lining.

Their No. 2 alternative is very simple but makes a strong case for being one of the best in the sport, as it features a black base with the team's logo printed along the front, set off by a sharp orange lining. Their City Connect features a more modern spin, but given its use of orange and black, it remains a very appealing design.

No. 9 - Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have three alternate jerseys in the 2026 season, but only one truly stands out as a unique offering. Their primary lettering uniforms do not take many creative liberties from their standard jersey, as both feature similar color tones and designs. However, their City Connect keeps them a bit higher on our list.

This jersey features a sharp light blue base with yellow accents in the cursive text that spells "Brew Crew," a fun twist on the team name. The light blue matches the gold and dark blue tones of the logo very well and gives fans a much different viewing experience on gamedays.

No. 8 - Cincinnati Reds

The Reds held the No. 16 spot in our standard ranking but received a nice boost in this alternate edition. Despite being one of the oldest teams in the game, the Reds feature unique designs in their alternate uniforms, which add much-needed flair to their uniforms. In 2026, they have three alternatives, with City Connect earning the crown as the most aesthetically pleasing.

On Friday nights, the Reds "flip the script," wearing a primary black jersey that instead uses hints of red along the hat lining, socks, and text. Along the front, the text instead reads "CINCY" with a clean red outline. While this does not evoke the team name, the red paired with red lining forms one of the sharpest combinations in the game.

No. 7 - Chicago White Sox

Even though the White Sox only have two alternate jerseys in the 2026 season, both hit the mark and keep this team well above average. Their most-used alternate jersey is a standard black jersey with the team logo printed on the front, as it is on the home jersey. It is simple in design but has emerged as one of the most recognizable in the game.

Their "new" City Connect jersey instead takes inspiration from the Chicago Bulls, making one of the most interesting collaborations. This jersey allows the White Sox to have a primary "red" jersey, which surprisingly plays very well with the hints of black on the lining.

No. 6 - Philadelphia Phillies

As with a few teams on this list, many baseball fans may only "recognize" the Phillies' alternate jerseys because they are so iconic. Their primary alternate has standard lettering (found on both the home and away jerseys), but it features the team logo in a distinct shade of red with sharp, cursive text. However, their No. 2 alternative is synonymous with the club.

This jersey features their power blue with the classic "P" logo in dark red. While their City Connect is not as memorable, this power-blue jersey is one of the best in the sport, keeping them firmly in the top 10.

No. 5 - Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks sat just outside the top half of our rankings in the standard jersey rankings, but received a massive boost in this edition. The Diamondbacks have three alternate jerseys, and each is among the best in the sport in terms of design, color choice, and creativity.

Their most-used alternative is a black jersey with hints of red that blend very well together. They also typically wear a red alternate jersey with black text, which also correlates quite well. Their City Connect is very different, as it instead draws on the purple and teal from a previous logo, but, as many team members mentioned earlier, it is a great callback to the club's history.

No. 4 - Athletics

The Athletics' standard set is not overly impressive, but their alternates are among the league's best. Both of their current alternate jerseys take inspiration from the logo's bright colors and blend very well. The first alternate jersey is a light green base with gold lettering spelling the club name along the front.

Their second instead takes inspiration from the hints of yellow in their logo, with a yellow base and a green "A" in Athletics. While both are simple, the team's color palette does much of the heavy lifting, as each color complements the others well.

No. 3 - Seattle Mariners

The Mariners sat at the top of our standard ranking and sit in a familiar spot once again, in this edition. The Mariners have one of the most distinctive color palettes in professional sports, which allows them to create some very distinctive alternate jerseys. This season, the M's have three distinct prints, each spotlighting a different aspect of their logo.

Their most iconic one is their "second" alternate jersey, which is a green base with light blue text, stating the club name. However, where they stand out is their unique City Connect, which features a dark blue base with tones of yellow and black, a call to the team's original color palette.

No. 2 - Boston Red Sox

Sitting comfortably in the No. 2 spot are the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox held the No. 6 spot in our first edition and are once again among the top of the class in jersey designs. Their alternatives are, in fact, even more impressive than their standard jersey, as each of the three prints is unique and blends very well into the design.

While their primary alternate is a standard red jersey, their other two are standouts. Their "No. 2" alternative is a yellow-and-blue jersey that is a direct homage to Patriot Day and the Boston Marathon. However, their new City Connect jerseys might be the best alternatives in the entire game. This is a light green jersey with hits of white and yellow, meant to resemble the iconic Green Monster in left field.

No. 1 - New York Mets

The Mets will once again sit in the top tier of our jersey ranking. Their standard jersey is among the best in the sport, but their alternates take the cake and will hold our No. 1 spot. In the 2026 season, the Mets have three distinct alternate jerseys, each adding its own flair to the team's game day attire.

Their most well-known alternate is their black jersey. This is a primary black shirt with minor hints of blue and orange within the text. As we noted for the Orioles, the black jersey pairs well with hints of orange (and, in this case, blue as well), making it not only one of the most visually appealing but also one of the sharpest.
