Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (5/23/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby's DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Early Morning Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 5/23/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello Esports enthusiasts and welcome back to our Esports coverage of CS:GO DFS!  BiG vs Sprout ended up being a great fight as both teams battled to the very end with BiG coming out on top in OT of the third map! Anonymo came up just short on the third map as they lost in OT as Afro took the game over and lead his team to a 2-1 victory! Let's get this next slate started!

The Flashpoint tournament continues as we get Mousesports taking on Astralis and G2 taking on NiP! So let's get right into it! Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on FanDuel and DraftKings for Sunday, May 23rd at 12:00 PM ET.

DFS Captain Plays

NiKo: NiKo is the clear top play on this slate, which is shown in why he has such a high price today.  Over the last three months, he has a 1.16 K/D and is averaging .75 kills per round and a low .64 deaths per round.  He is averaging over 20 kills per map over his last 15 maps and has a positive K/D differential in 13 of those maps. NiKo also dominated in his matchup against the No. 2 ranked Heroic where he dropped 71 kills and went +26 on the day. I expect him to be a big part of this matchup against NiP and to make a big statement to continue to climb up the rankings as G2 has made its way up to No. 5 in the world and look to continue their move up the leaderboards.

Magisk: If there is anyone from Astralis to take on a big role in the departure of device, it's Magisk and Bubzjki. Both guys have filled in well and Magisk looked fantastic in his last match against DBL Poney. Where he leads the team with 47 kills and a K/D differential of 14. He is getting up there in price though and that's the only risk I see in taking Magisk. I think the matchup against Mousesports should be close enough that it should make for a bloody match in which the likes of Magisk and Bubzjki should thrive. Magisk has a 1.16 overall K/D and is averaging .73 kills per round and .63 deaths per round. I like him as a one-off for your lineup or in an Astralis stack he is someone I would center the lineup around.

Other captain plays: ropz, device, Bubzjki

DFS Value Plays

Dexter: Dexter is a complete boom or bust play if I have ever seen one. He either drops 60+ or like 10. His price is far too intriguing in what should be a great and close matchup between Astralis and Mouz. Mouz has won 5 of their last 6 matches and is currently on a 3 game win streak all by sweep as well. In those three games, he has gone +8, +16, and -2 in the K/D differential. They have been just mopping teams up with big wins over BiG, Complexity, and Fnatic. If dexter is able to get one or two of the maps that he has been really good at including Overpass, Inferno, or Dust 2, he should be able to get his and at 4,600 makes him completely worth the punt. I think Astralis is too overvalued here in a game where they no longer have device anymore. Over the last three months, dexter has a ghastly .94 K/D is averaging .64 kills per round and .68 deaths per round. But if he is able to get some of the maps he excels on, he could make for a great value option on this slate.

Nexa: Nexa isn't a player who is gonna wow you with big kill games and going insanely positive hence why he is 6,400. But he is playing much better and helped lead G2 to a map win with 24 kills over No. 2 ranked Heroic. He does have a .97 K/D and .62 KPR and .64 DPR. I do think though if you take Dexter though, you won't need another value play as low as him. But if you need a value option for a G2 stack, I highly recommend grabbing him or Amanek. Jackz is too volatile to be taking him, he is extremely inconsistent and can do very well or have a horrible game and go negative. He has a -2 K/D differential or better in 7 of his last 8 matches with the one match coming at the hands of Gambit.

Other Value Plays: acor, dupreeh

Top Stacks / Team Picks

G2: We have a couple of really close matchups on our hands today and I think G2 is the most rounded out team on this slate. Their biggest struggle is Jackz in my opinion. Nexa has been improving much more. NiKo and Hunter have been lights out recently. Amanek has even crept himself up the player salaries recently and has looked much better in recent games. My favorites are NiKo, Nexa, and Hunter though as they all make for a great trio. G2 has been on fire recently as they have won 7 of their last 9 matches with the two losses coming at the hands of the No. 1 ranked Gambit.

G2 beat Astralis a few weeks ago with Device on the team and in G2's most recent matchup against NiP they swept them fairly easily. I do think G2 keeps the momentum going and beats NiP pretty handily. NiKo has been an absolute monster recently and I'm hoping he can continue that reign of terror he is on right now and make quick work of this new NiP team. NiP has only 2 matches played so far with Device on the team and so far have had fairly simple matches against Anonymo and FPX. This is going to be a real test for them and will really put them into the fire.

Other Top Stacks/ Teams: Mouz

Note: Chrisj, nawwk, and KennyS are bench players and are not in the starting lineup they will result in a 0.

Predictions

G2 beats NiP 2-0

Mouz beats Astralis 2-1
