Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Week 14: 1/19 -1/25

Jalen Smith - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Rankings, NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Thunder Dan's fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups for Week 14 of the 2025-26 NBA season. Consider these players as fantasy basketball adds, streamers, and stashes.

Welcome back, readers, to another edition of my waiver wire piece. You'll notice it's out one day sooner, which I hope helps you get a leg on your league mates in terms of grabbing the best available players and planning out your weekly adds. We have a beautifully balanced schedule this week with between seven and nine games EVERY DAY!

As a reminder, I have been using the 25% rostered threshold on Yahoo as my cutoff for standard leagues, so there could be some players not mentioned in this article who are still valuable pick-ups, especially if you play in 10-team leagues or shallower formats. For those deep-leaguers, I always feature a section of players who are rostered in 10% or fewer leagues as well.

Let's dive into the waiver wire and see which widely available players can help your fantasy basketball team win this week. Here are my top pick-ups and streamers for Week 14 of the fantasy basketball season.

Schedule Highlights

  • We have two teams (ORL, POR) that only play twice this week. I will be avoiding them for streamers.
  • The Heat play five times this week, including a back-to-back to start the week and one to finish it!

Standard League Adds - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 14

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Standard Leagues" refer to 10- or 12-team leagues.

I am going back to 25% or lower as the cutoff again this week, with 10% or below being right around where I draw the line between standard league and deep league adds.

Brice Sensabaugh - SF/PF (25%)

There is no denying that Sensabaugh can get buckets, and he's been stacking up some huge games over the last week while Lauri Markkanen has been out. Who knows how long this run lasts, but with four games on the schedule this week for the Jazz, Sensabaugh is firmly in play as a streamer if you need scoring.

I have doubts about his long-term viability, and I should remind you that he's not a very good player in category leagues, as he does little else but score. In points leagues, his value is much higher, and he could be worth a stash as the Jazz are most assuredly going to tank hard again down the stretch.

Jake LaRavia - SF/PF (25%)

LaRavia was the headliner of the article last week with a five-game week. He played well in three of those games, but had two pretty bad stinkers mixed in there, too, including last night's dud in which he ended up with just 2-5-4 and failed to make a shot.

With Austin Reaves still out and the chance that Luka could miss another game or two, we still have to consider him one of the better streamers available. My confidence level is not high that he will produce, but the Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule for the Lakers is pretty solid, and you can always dump him when his run as a starter finally ends.

Jay Huff - C (22%)

The Jay Huff experience remains an interesting one. He went bonkers on Friday night with 29 points, nine boards, three treys and four steals/blocks, and then followed that up with a total dud last night. In his defense, the Pacers fielded possibly the worst starting five of any team this season last night while Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembard, T.J. McConnell, and Aaron Nesmith were all rested. That game was over in the first half with Detroit leading by 30+ points throughout.

One thing to monitor will be how Isaiah Jackson plays now that he has returned to action. But Huff has been the better player so far this year, and guys who hit 1.4 threes while blocking 2.1 shots simply don't grow on trees!

Royce O'Neale - SF/PF (20%)

The Suns have a solid start to the week with a back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday against the Nets and Sixers. I admit that I had moved on from O'Neale earlier this season, but he's been able to stick in the starting rotation even with Grayson Allen back healthy, and he's having one of his best two-week runs of the season right now.

Over his last seven games, O'Neale is averaging 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 3.6 threes. Those numbers are quite solid in 9-CAT formats, especially when you consider he's been shooting it around 45% from the floor with only 1.1 turnovers per game.

The eventual return of Jalen Green to the Phoenix lineup is going to force us to re-evaluate O'Neale's value as well as others like Collin Gillespie and Jonathan Goodwin, but for now, he looks like a solid addition for the week ahead.

Jaylon Tyson - SG/SF (20%)

After his massive 39-point game on Friday night, Tyson has vaulted up to 87 overall in 9-CAT rankings. And yet here he is, still available in 80% of Yahoo leagues! What gives, people?

He was dropped in a lot of leagues a week ago when he went through a very tough four-game stretch. The Cavs were fully healthy and moved Tyson back to the bench. He was deferring to others on offense and saw his role shrink a bit. But he was outstanding this week, and his last game was a sample of what his ceiling looks like going forward as a player in this league.

Sam Merrill and Darius Garland are both probably not out long, but it doesn't matter. Tyson should be rostered in standard leagues and HELD through a few rocky games, because he is going to be very valuable for this Cavs team in the second half, either as a starter or in a sixth man role.

Moussa Diabate - C (22%)

Hopefully Diabate can get back in the lineup tonight against Denver after missing last night's game. He's clearly been winning the battle with Ryan Kalkbrenner for the starting center job, and Kalk did very little last night in his start to make his case.

Diabate is a fairly limited fantasy player, but he has double-double potential nightly and is blocking a shot per game. If you need some help with big man stats, I like him a lot going forward. Maybe wait and see what his status is for tonight before making a move, though.

Ace Bailey - SG/SF (18%)

I'm not a Bailey truther by any means, and I've been far more skeptical of his fantasy value than others in the industry. However, I am not going to act like he doesn't have some solid fantasy value right now with Markkanen out.

He just needs to stay healthy and on the floor, but Bailey's last couple of games have been solid. He's obviously a potential silly-season star, too, if Utah makes some deals at the deadline or just shuts down their top guys as they have in years prior.

Tim Hardaway Jr. - SG/SF (18%)

THJ has moved back to the bench for Denver since they've gotten a bit healthier, but he's still played 33 or more minutes in four straight games and is still getting up a lot of shots in this offense. He dropped 30 on the Wizards last night with five threes and had a 25-point game against the Bucks just a week ago.

He can still fill it up, and right now, with Christian Braun struggling to get back in the lineup and Cam Johnson still out, the Nuggets need perimeter shooting and someone to help Jamal Murray carry the scoring load.

Jalen Smith - PF/C (18%)

Smith was dropped in a lot of leagues when he missed a few games with a concussion last week. And I got a lot of pushback from readers when he came back and played just 16 minutes. "Here we go again, he's back to his backup center role."

Not so fast! Smith played 36 minutes the very next game and then 35 minutes on Friday night, posting a huge 14-13-4 line with four treys and four blocks. He's too good for Billy Donovan to leave on the bench, and his fantasy game is too sexy for him to be sitting on waivers in competitive leagues. Snag him if he's available in your league and thank me later!

De'Andre Hunter - SF/PF (17%)

I was really down on Hunter there for a bit, and there were some rumblings that he could be requesting a trade out of Cleveland. But he's looked much better in his last two games and remains a decent fantasy option when playing minutes in the high 20s. With Garland and Merrill uncertain to start the week for the Cavs, he's worth a look as a short-term streamer.

Miles McBride - PG/SG (16%)

McBride has gone off for 23 and 25 points in his last two games, filling in for the injured Jalen Brunson. He was on a really solid run before that, too, while Josh Hart was out. Whenever the Knicks do get everyone healthy, he might be tough to keep on the roster, but you also might argue that he's worth holding through the lean times (like I mentioned with Jaylon Tyson) because of how consistent he is in a sixth man role and because he usually produces anytime he slides into the lineup for a spot start.

Day'Ron Sharpe - C (16%)

Sharpe was really good while Nicolas Claxton was out, and he refuses to go away, even while Claxton has returned as the starter. Sharpe has scored in double figures in three straight and continues to be incredibly efficient from the floor while doing it.

If he can maintain a role around 20-22 minutes a night, he does just enough in points, rebounds, and both percentages to make him a usable asset in 12-team leagues or larger. He's an underrated passer, too, dishing out 2.3 assists per game this year in only 18 minutes per game.

Klay Thompson - SG/SF (15%)

Klay is on a heater right now, and perhaps he's perked up a bit as it's been rumored that the Mavs could trade him or buy him out of his contract, allowing him to join a contender for the stretch run. The former Splash Brother has looked like his old self recently, drilling six three pointers in four of his last six games.

Dallas is all banged up and leaning on Thompson and others for offense. Just be warned that the Mavs play on Monday and then sit for three days. You might consider waiting til midweek to add him for three games in four days to close out the week.

Kyle Filipowski - PF/C (15%)

Filipowski is a late addition to the article this week. I've received a lot of questions about Filipowski lately, and I have been telling folks that he's probably not worth holding for now until we see what Utah is going to do with Markannen and Nurkic down the stretch.

But then this week, things got weird. Lauri has been out all week with an illness (is that legit? Who knows?), and they've sat Nurkic now in three straight, even though he was playing some of the best basketball we had seen him play in years.

Now I think he could be worth a speculative pick-up, in case Lauri and Nurkic's absences linger into this week. We know what he can do with minutes, and that opportunity seems like it's going to come sooner or later.

Jock Landale - C (12%)

Just three games for the Grizzlies this week after they get back from Europe, but Landale has played quite well lately and should continue to see plenty of run with Zach Edey out at least another month.

Deep League Adds - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 14

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Deep Leagues" refer to 14-team leagues or larger.

Brandon Williams - PG/SG (10%)

Dallas is a disaster right now, but out of that mess, we've seen Williams pop up again with some nice fantasy value. He's averaged 20 points per game over his last three, with some solid percentages. I'd like to see more steals and assists, but I am not that picky when dumpster diving.

Marcus Smart - PG/SG (10%)

Smart got dinged up in last night's loss, so keep an eye out for whether he plays tonight or not. If he's healthy, however, he deserves a look as a streamer if Luka Doncic's injury lingers into next week.

Jamal Shead - PG (9%)

Shead is coming off a season-high 13 assists in 39 minutes for Toronto on Friday night. He's made three straight starts for Toronto as the Raptors are dealing with multiple injuries to starters, including Immanuel Quickley most recently.

He's a drag on your FG%, but the assists and steals are nice. His run of productivity is only going to last as long as these injuries, but he's certainly worth a look at least to start the week. If Quickley is moved at the deadline, then he could have some serious appeal for the rest of the season, too.

De'Anthony Melton - PG/SG (8%)

I featured Melton in this space last week, and he did not let us down. Sure, he had one stinker in there, but he also had games where he scored 23 and 24 points this week, too. He's coming on strong, and his steady play should continue to net him a solid role with minutes in the low to mid twenties. Melton can do a little of everything. If you are not familiar with his game, I suggest you fix that ASAP!

Sam Hauser - SF/PF (7%)

If you want to play the game where you try to guess which random Celtics role player has a good week, then Hauser might be worth a look for four games this week as he's coming off a 30-burger and 10 threes last night against the Hawks.

In his defense, Hauser has been seeing consistent minutes with 29 or more in five straight, and he's a very good shooter from distance. Even if he duds in a game or two, there's a good chance he makes up for it with a few big nights, too.

Moussa Cisse - C (3%)

Cisse nearly double-doubled for the second straight game last night, finishing with 9 points and 10 boards. With the Mavericks lacking healthy bodies in the middle and Daniel Gafford refusing to get healthy, Cisse is worth a look for anyone who needs boards and blocks. His block rate has been very impressive as he's swatting 1.1 shots in just 11 minutes per game.

Walter Clayton Jr. - PG/SG (2%)

I'll keep Clayton on this list for another week, with the Jazz having four games and with his minutes continuing to be there for the time being. I am not sure this experiment of Isaiah Collier and Keyonte George starting alongside each other will last forever, but it has opened up minutes and assist opportunities for Clayton off the bench. Even though he scored just five points last night, he finished with eight dimes. He's still one of my favorite Silly Season stashes, too, for anyone who just wants to sit on him until the inevitable Jazz Tank-a-thon.

Jordan Miller - SF (2%)

Miller has my attention with his recent play in Clipper land. He's posted two really strong lines in a row, going 11-10-5 with two steals against the Wizards and then following it up with 19-26 with three treys and four steals against the Raptors.

Miller played a whopping 46 minutes in that overtime game against the Raptors, which bodes well for him as a guy who could stick with a solid bench role even when the Clippers get healthy again.

Craig Porter Jr. - PG/SG, Noah Penda - SF, Jaden Hardy - PG/SG (1%)

I'll finish with three players rostered in just 1% of leagues! CPJ is still on my radar with Darius Garland nursing an injury; he did just drop 11 dimes in his last game! Penda has moved back to the bench for Orlando, but could still be productive if he can earn 20 minutes a night and stave off Tristan da Silva. Meanwhile, Hardy is mainly just a points guy, but he has seen a lot of run recently in Dallas with everyone hurt.

Good luck this week, friends, and never hesitate to reach out with questions on roster moves!
