Fantasy Basketball Risers: Week 11

Immanuel Quickley - G, Toronto Raptors

Ladies and gentlemen, Immanuel Quickley is now a full-time starter! The recent trade between the Raptors and the Knicks which sent RJ Barrett and Quickley to the Raptors for Precious Achiuwa, OG Anunoby, and Malachi Flynn was confusing, to say the least. But Quickley might just be the biggest winner of the whole trade.

IQ was adored by Knicks fans ever since his rookie season, and you can see why that was the case with his average +10.1 Plus/Minus Net Per 100 Possessions throughout his three-and-a-half seasons in "The Big Apple". But Quickley never got an extended chance to play in the starting unit despite averaging 21.4 points a night as a starter throughout his career. The Raptors have now allowed him to be in the starting five, and while his debut with the 2019 NBA champions wasn't perfect, things can certainly get better in the coming weeks.

Donte DiVincenzo - G, New York Knicks

The departures of Barrett and Quickley might not be the best move for the Knicks in the long run, but it benefits players like Donte DiVincenzo and Josh Hart. Hart has put up two consecutive games with more than 10 rebounds since the trade, but what DiVincenzo has accomplished is even more impressive.

The former Villanova Wildcat scored 38 points while shooting 15-21 from the field and 7-11 from three in the first game after the trade, and he followed that up with a solid 15-point outing in a win against the Timberwolves. DiVincenzo never really got a fair chance since he got hurt in the 2021 playoffs, but now it seems like he's ready to show everyone that he's more than just a role player.

Jarrett Allen - C, Cleveland Cavaliers

We all remember 2021-22 Jarrett Allen, right? Allen averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds a night from November to mid-February, and his hard work didn't go unnoticed as he was selected to his first-ever All-Star team. The Cavs fell apart that year after Allen got hurt, and it took a while for Allen to rediscover his form in 2022-23.

It always seemed like he needed a confidence boost since that injury, and the recent injuries to Darius Garland and Evan Mobley have given Allen a bigger role on the offense. Allen has averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a night on 66.7% shooting over his last six games, while also adding 1.7 stocks (steals + blocks) on the defensive end.

Fantasy Basketball Fallers: Week 11

Kevin Huerter - G/F, Sacramento Kings

It seems like the Kings are acting a bit suspicious with their handling of Kevin Huerter's latest injury. Huerter was his typical self before suffering a hand injury against his former team the Atlanta Hawks, and since then, nothing has been the same for him. Huerter has put up just 5.4 points a night on 32.4% shooting from the floor and 20% shooting from deep in his last five games.

His current stats are nowhere near his stats from his first 17 games (13 PPG while shooting 45.1% from the field and 38.6% from three), and his recent play has forced the Kings to bench him for the first time since joining the team last season. He needs a little time off to tend to his injury.

Cam Thomas - G, Brooklyn Nets

Here we are again with Cam Thomas. It's a never-ending cycle: Cam Thomas plays well, Nets fans start to think that he's their franchise savior, he then has a bunch of stinkers and the infamously impatient Jacque Vaughn benches him, rinse and repeat. Thomas started the year off averaging 28.7 points a night but then he got hurt.

He reverted to his usual inconsistent self since his return from injury which caused him to get benched. Thomas has always struggled with coming off the bench, as his True Shooting percentage falls from 56.5% as a starter to 52.5% as a reserve. His struggles were on full display in his last game, where he went 0-11 from the field and failed to score a single point.

Spencer Dinwiddie - G, Brooklyn Nets

We end with another Nets guard, and it's a player who has already appeared in one of these articles as a faller a few weeks ago. Spencer Dinwiddie put together a great four-game stretch after I called him out on his poor play, averaging 16.5 points and 10 assists a night on 48% shooting from the field. But since then, he's back to being an inconsistent fantasy option.

Since December 20, he has the lowest field-goal percentage among all NBA players who have attempted at least 40 field goals (28.8%) and has averaged just 9.9 points and 4.9 assists per game. He also went scoreless in his last game alongside Cam Thomas, and his days as a starter with the Nets could be coming to an end very soon.
