Wild Sign Filip Gustavsson to Five-Year Extension
Minnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson has signed a five-year, $34 million contract extension with the team, general manager Bill Guerin announced on Saturday. The new contract will take effect next year after Gustavsson has finished his current three-year, $11.25 million deal. Next week, the Swedish netminder will begin his second campaign as Minnesota's undisputed starter. He had a very good first year in the role, producing a 31-19-6 record, a 2.56 goals-against average, a .914 save percentage, and five shutouts. Gustavsson is set to remain among the top goalie options in fantasy hockey this season.
