Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) has been named the starter for Tuesday's contest against the Winnipeg Jets. Demko was kept out of Vancouver's back-to-back set over the weekend for "preventative maintenance." The American netminder made his last appearance on Nov. 3, improving his record to 5-4-0 with a 5-4 overtime victory against the Nashville Predators. Despite allowing four goals in back-to-back starts, Demko's goals-against average for the season stands at 2.57, while he has registered a .912 save percentage. On Tuesday, Demko takes on a Jets team that has lost three consecutive road games, scoring just two goals during that stretch.--Taavi Pailk

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman finished Monday's 5-4 overtime win against the Columbus Blue Jackets with three points. Walman scored Edmonton's first goal of the game, tying things at one late in the first period. Yet, the Oilers once again dug themselves a hole and needed to produce a big effort late in the contest to avoid another defeat. Luckily for them, Walman popped up with a short-handed goal inside the final minute of regulation to send the game into overtime. During the extra frame, Walman completed his three-point effort with an assist on Jack Roslovic's fourth goal of the year. This marked already the fourth multi-point effort of the season for Walman. Sitting on 10 points (three goals and seven assists) through 11 appearances, Walman boasts some impressive numbers. However, his offensive performance has been inconsistent, as Walman has finished most of his games (6) with zero points.--Taavi Pailk

New York Rangers winger Alexis Lafreniere led his team with three points in Monday's 6-3 victory over the Nashville Predators. He produced a goal and two assists as the Rangers finally won their first home game of the season. Incredibly, Mike Sullivan's team had previously scored just six home goals all season at Madison Square Garden. With the team struggling, Lafreniere hasn't had much joy either. However, he has finished on the score sheet in four consecutive road outings, and a haul of 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 17 games has made Lafreniere a top-three scorer on the Rangers squad. The Blueshirts now head back on the road for a couple of games before hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night.--Taavi Pailk

Nashville Predators right wing Matthew Wood celebrated his first career hat trick in Monday's 6-3 road loss to the New York Rangers. He had a pair of power-play goals and an even-strength marker. Blake Geoffrion was previously the only rookie in Predators history to post a hat trick in a regular-season contest. Wood also became only the second Predators player to score a goal in each of his first three road games of a season. Following Monday's outing, Wood is on a run of nine points (six goals, three assists) in seven games. In total, the 20-year-old has bagged six goals and 10 points in 11 games for his rookie campaign. Few expected Wood to have a significant impact in 2025-26, yet right now, only three first-year players have been more offensively productive than him.--Taavi Pailk

Florida Panthers winger Brad Marchand recorded a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday. The veteran potted Florida's second goal and notched a power-play assist when Sam Reinhart produced the game-winning tally. Marchand scored in a fifth consecutive game, marking his best goal streak in a decade. During his 17-year NHL career, Marchand has had a longer goal streak only once -- a seven-game run in 2015-16. The 37-year-old really has turned back the clock this season, going scoreless only twice in 15 appearances and leading his team in all the main offensive categories. Marchand has racked up 18 points with 11 goals and seven assists. Another two points will give him 1,000 for his career.--Taavi Pailk

San Jose Sharks winger William Eklund (lower body) has traveled with the team and could be ready to return to action on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The Swedish offensive talent has sat out four games due to a lower-body injury. Eklund has overcome a slow start to the season to register nine points (four goals, five assists) across his past six outings. Overall, he has managed five goals and 11 points in 12 games. If Eklund returns to the lineup, Collin Graf will likely need to give up his spot on the second line.--Taavi Pailk

San Jose Sharks defenseman Nick Leddy (upper body) was activated from Injured Reserve on Monday and will be available for Tuesday's matchup against the Minnesota Wild. An upper-body injury robbed Leddy of nine games. The veteran blue-liner has recorded two assists, one shot, and 10 blocks in seven appearances this season. Leddy is an experienced head who can have a great influence in the locker room, but his days as a fantasy contributor are gone. A season ago, the 2013 Stanley Cup champion managed only six points (two goals, three assists) in 31 outings. --Taavi Pailk

Boston Bruins center Casey Mittelstadt (lower body) is considered week-to-week, Conor Ryan of Boston.com reports. The 26-year-old missed Saturday's matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs and was unable to practice on Monday. Boasting nine points (four goals, five assists) through 15 outings, Mittelstadt is tied for fifth on the Bruins' scoring charts. Mittelstadt has joined Elias Lindholm (lower body) on the shelf, giving Alex Steeves and Marat Khusnutdinov an opportunity to experience life as a top-six forward. The two will likely continue to have expanded roles in Tuesday's rematch against Toronto.--Taavi Pailk

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jason Zucker (illness) remains without a timeline for his return. On Monday, Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff revealed that Zucker is dealing with a serious health issue. "Real severe viral, flu-like thing that he hasn't been able to shake," Ruff said. "Undergone a lot of tests and still isn't doing that well." Zucker is set to miss a fourth consecutive game on Wednesday against the Utah Mammoth. The veteran forward has notched four goals and three assists in 12 outings during the 2025-26 campaign. Young players like Jack Quinn and Isak Rosen will have larger roles on the team until Zucker returns.--Taavi Pailk

Buffalo Sabres forward Jiri Kulich (ear) is expected to "miss significant time" due to a blood clot issue, according to head coach Lindy Ruff. Kulich has already missed three games while dealing with fluid in his ears, and the team does not anticipate his return in the near future. Ruff remains hopeful that Kulich can still play this season, but that will depend on how his condition develops over the next three to four weeks. Kulich has made 12 appearances this season, contributing three goals and two assists. The Sabres are also without Jason Zucker (illness) in the offensive department, leaving players like Isak Rosen and Noah Ostlund to pick up the slack. Both forwards have joined the top six and skate on the second power-play unit.--Taavi Pailk

New Jersey Devils right wing Zack MacEwen (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve and is poised to re-enter the lineup for Monday's tilt against the New York Islanders. He's available to play after missing 13 games due to an upper-body injury. On Monday, MacEwen will make only his second appearance of the season, skating on the fourth line alongside Paul Cotter and Luke Glendening. While MacEwen will bring a physical presence to the Devils' lineup, he is unlikely to have an impact in fantasy hockey.--Taavi Pailk

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) won't play in Monday's contest against the Florida Panthers. He was hurt Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks, and Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy didn't have any update on Karlsson on Monday. In 14 outings, Karlsson has tallied four goals and seven points. His absence from the lineup allows Alexander Holtz the opportunity to play, while Keegan Kolesar will be elevated to the third line. Additionally, Brett Howden will assume Karlsson's responsibilities as the third-line center. Karlsson's first chance to return will be on Thursday night against the New York Islanders.--Taavi Pailk

Edmonton Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (undisclosed) will be out of action for at least one week after the team placed him on Injured Reserve. The veteran has sustained an undisclosed injury, playing a season-low 14:50 in Saturday's embarrassing 9-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Nugent-Hopkins is the third-highest scoring Oilers this season, with 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in as many appearances. However, he has struggled in even-strength situations, logging a minus-11 rating. With Nugent-Hopkins unavailable, Leon Draisaitl is expected to take on the second-line center role in Monday's matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Meanwhile, Matt Savoie will join Connor McDavid and Andrew Mangiapane on the first line.--Taavi Pailk

New York Rangers center Vincent Trocheck (upper body) will rejoin the lineup on Monday against the Nashville Predators. He has missed all but two games this season with an upper-body injury. On Monday, Trocheck will center the second line and the second power-play unit. The Predators are a mediocre penalty-killing team and allow the fourth-most goals in the league, making this a juicy matchup for Trocheck and the Rangers. Before his injury, Trocheck had one assist in two games at the start of the season.--Taavi Pailk

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal produced an impressive 23-save performance in Sunday's 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets, posting a new career high with a sixth consecutive win. Kyle Connor scored against Dostal early in the second period, but the Ducks offense, led by Leo Carlsson, once again proved to be too sharp for the opposing team. Anaheim has the league's most potent offense, helping Dostal put together an 8-3-1 record this season. He has logged a 2.66 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. While things look very rosy for Dostal right now, his winning streak will face a very tough test on Tuesday as the Ducks are scheduled to visit the Colorado Avalanche, led by NHL scoring leader Nathan MacKinnon.--Taavi Pailk
