Ottawa Senators goaltender Mads Sogaard (lower body) left Denmark's matchup against Team USA on Saturday with 8:53 remaining in the third period. He reportedly played through a lower-body injury since the second frame and ultimately exited the contest after stopping a shot from his Senators teammate, Brady Tkachuk. This was Sogaard's Olympic debut. He was replaced by Frederik Dichow. Sogaard has been limited to only two NHL appearances this season, going 1-1-0. He has registered a 4.65 goals-against average and a .833 save percentage. It hasn't gone smoothly for him in the minors either, as Sogaard holds a 4-8-4 record in the AHL. Frederik Andersen is set to start for Denmark against Latvia on Sunday.--Taavi Pailk

Detroit Red Wings right wing Lucas Raymond had a big game with a goal and two assists in Sweden's 5-3 victory over Slovakia on Saturday. With three points, the 23-year-old tied a Team Sweden record for an Olympic game involving NHL players. Raymond collected a power-play assist in the second period before bagging two even-strength points in the third. He has five points (one goal, four assists) in three games for Sweden, placing him among the tournament's highest-scoring players. Raymond has successfully carried his club form over to the international stage. Currently, he is on track for his career-best NHL season, recording 60 points (19 goals, 41 assists) in 56 appearances.--Taavi Pailk

Florida Panthers center Anton Lundell was unable to play for Team Finland on Saturday against Italy due to illness. He missed a historic game in which Finland set a new scoring record for an Olympic tournament featuring NHL players, winning 11-0. Montreal's Oliver Kapanen also didn't play for Finland, as he's Lundell's roommate at the tournament. With 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 54 appearances, Lundell is having a career year in the NHL this season. He has recorded one goal in two outings at the Olympics. It's unclear whether Lundell and Kapanen will be cleared to rejoin the team for the next game.--Taavi Pailk

Los Angeles Kings left wing Kevin Fiala (leg) suffered a season-ending injury at the 2026 Olympics. After Fiala hurt his left leg against Canada on Friday, Team Switzerland announced the 29-year-old would be out for the rest of the tournament. Unfortunately, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports that Fiala won't suit up for the Kings this season either after undergoing surgery on Saturday. Fiala ends his fourth campaign in Los Angeles with 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists) in 56 games. While losing Fiala is a major blow for the Kings, the recent acquisition of Artemi Panarin will help offset his absence. The Kings return to work on Feb. 25 against the Vegas Golden Knights.--Taavi Pailk

Boston Bruins right wing David Pastrnak finished with a goal and an assist as Czechia beat France 6-3 at the Milano Cortina Olympics on Friday. Pastrnak and Czechia were shut out by Team Canada on Thursday, but the offense got going in Friday's game. Only 5:56 into the game, Pastrnak assisted on Martin Necas' power-play goal, and he tied the game at three in the second period after France had scored three quick goals to take the lead. Pastrnak is on track for his fourth consecutive 100-point campaign with the Bruins and is also expected to finish among the top scorers in the Olympics. Next, he will face Team Switzerland on Sunday.--Taavi Pailk

San Jose Sharks center Macklin Celebrini made it two goals in two games at the Olympics on Friday, helping Team Canada to a 5-1 victory over Switzerland. Celebrini potted Canada's third goal early in the second period to make it 3-1, becoming only the third teenager to score in consecutive games in an Olympic tournament featuring NHL players. It's not easy to stand out on a stacked Canada squad, but Celebrini has been one of the leading players on the team. Across the first two games, he has recorded two goals, one assist, six shots, and a plus-four rating.--Taavi Pailk

Los Angeles Kings left wing Kevin Fiala (lower body) left Switzerland's 5-1 loss to Canada on a stretcher on Friday. He appeared to injure his left leg late in the third period during a collision with Canada's Tom Wilson. Fiala, who has posted 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists) in 56 games with the Kings this season, finished scoreless on Friday. He had one assist in Thursday's 4-0 victory over France. This looked like a serious injury, and Fiala was transported to the hospital after the game. His Olympic tournament could be over, and the injury might also prevent him from playing for the Kings when the NHL season resumes.--Taavi Pailk

St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington started the 2026 Olympics in outstanding form, recording a 26-save shutout in a 5-0 win over Czechia on Thursday. The 32-year-old became only the fourth Team Canada goaltender to post a shutout in an Olympic game featuring NHL players, joining Carey Price, Roberto Luongo, and Patrick Roy. Binnington has struggled with the Blues this season, going 8-17-6 in 30 starts with a 3.65 goals-against average and a .864 save percentage. However, he has a much stronger team in front of him at the Olympic tournament and has always performed well for his country. On Thursday, Binnington improved to 13-4 with Team Canada, recording his third career shutout on the international stage.--Taavi Pailk

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid tallied three assists as Canada routed Czechia 5-0 on Thursday. In his Olympic debut, McDavid tied Team Canada's record for most assists in a single game at an Olympic tournament involving NHL players. McDavid set up Macklin Celebrini for the opening goal in the first period and added assists on third-period goals by Nathan MacKinnon and Nick Suzuki. MacKinnon scored on the power play. Additionally, McDavid produced a game-high six shots on goal, twice as many as any of his teammates. The Oilers captain has been dominant in the NHL for years and looks set to crush it on the international stage as well.--Taavi Pailk

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (undisclosed) was limited to 7:10 of ice time in Team Canada's 5-0 win over Czechia on Thursday. Canada opened the Olympic tournament with a comfortable win but lost Morrissey to an undisclosed injury. He took only one shift in the second period. Morrissey has been ever-present for the Jets this season, recording 42 points (10 goals, 32 assists) in 56 appearances. Travis Sanheim, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday, is likely to play in Friday's matchup with Switzerland if Morrissey isn't available. Meanwhile, Shea Theodore could see more ice time after starting Thursday's game as the seventh defenseman.--Taavi Pailk

Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros will start for Finland against Slovakia on Wednesday. He is expected to be the team's No. 1 throughout the Olympic tournament, ahead of Kevin Lankinen of the Vancouver Canucks and Joonas Korpisalo of the Boston Bruins. Saros has not been at his best in 2025-26. He has no shutouts in 44 starts, posting a 21-17-5 record, a 3.20 goals-against average, and a .892 save percentage. The 30-year-old has allowed at least three goals in nine consecutive starts. Still, Saros remains Finland's best option in net and has previously performed at a high level with the team. Across the Four Nations Face-Off and three World Championships, Saros has gone 7-4 with Team Finland, allowing 1.71 goals with a .941 save percentage. He has tallied three shutouts in 11 games.--Taavi Pailk

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander (groin) didn't practice on Tuesday and is considered a game-time decision for Sweden's Olympic opener against Italy on Wednesday. Nylander has battled health issues throughout 2026, appearing in only four games for Toronto since the turn of the year. While Team Sweden should easily handle the hosts even without Nylander, it would be a significant blow to the squad if the Maple Leafs star is not at 100 percent at the tournament. Despite playing in only 40 of Toronto's 57 games, Nylander has posted a team-high 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists).--Taavi Pailk

Colorado Avalanche right wing Martin Necas (lower body) will be available for Team Czechia's Olympic opener against Canada on Thursday. Prior to the Olympic break, Necas sat out three Colorado games due to a lower-body injury. Ahead of Thursday's matchup, Necas has practiced with David Pastrnak and Tomas Hertl on the first line. Much of Czechia's tournament success hinges on the performance of its top trio. Necas has been in hot form this season, logging 62 points (22 goals, 40 assists) in 52 appearances with the Avalanche.--Taavi Pailk

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Jonas Rondbjerg (undisclosed) will miss the 2026 Olympics. Team Denmark has replaced him on the roster with defenseman Malte Setkov, a former Detroit Red Wings fourth-round draft pick who plays in the local Danish league. Rondbjerg is dealing with an undisclosed injury and was deemed week-to-week by Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy last Monday. The Danish winger has spent most of the season in the minors, registering one assist in four appearances with the big club. In the AHL, Rondbjerg has managed 23 points (12 goals, 11 assists) in 36 games.--Taavi Pailk

Florida Panthers winger Brad Marchand (undisclosed) is on track to play for Team Canada against Czechia at the Olympics on Thursday. The veteran forward practiced on Sunday, skating on a line with Nathan MacKinnon and Nick Suzuki on a stacked team. Marchand has been banged up this season and played in only five of the Panthers' final 15 games before the Olympic break. Florida has received great production from Marchand when he has been on the ice, as the 37-year-old has tallied 25 goals and 50 points in 46 outings. Marchand could also be a scoring machine for Canada if he sticks with MacKinnon.--Taavi Pailk
