Jonas Brodin Begins Season on Injured Reserve
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (upper body) will start the 2025-26 season on Injured Reserve. After undergoing offseason upper-body surgery, Brodin was a full participant in practice on Sept. 28. However, he's been skating with a non-contact jersey more recently, a clear sign that the Swedish veteran isn't at 100 percent. Minnesota starts the campaign on Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues. Zeev Buium is expected to fill a top-four role during Brodin's absence, and David Jiricek has an opportunity to make an early impression. Jiricek has been productive in the minors but hasn't yet proven his worth on the big stage.
