Jesper Wallstedt Picks Up Third Shutout of the Season
Minnesota Wild goaltender Jesper Wallstedt kept the Winnipeg Jets from scoring on Sunday, posting his third shutout of the season in a 3-0 road win. He has 32 saves in the contest, becoming the fourth-youngest netminder in NHL history with a season-opening point streak of at least eight games. The 23-year-old Swedish native has gone 6-0-2 to start the year. Wallstedt has won each of his last five starts, allowing only five goals. Incredibly, he has recorded all three of his shutouts this season over his last four appearances. Wallstedt is providing great competition to Filip Gustavsson, as the two goalies have alternated starts over the last couple of weeks.
