FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/25/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/25/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome to Tuesday baseball! We have a jam-packed full 15 game slate on our hands with plenty to decipher through. Max Scherzer is facing off with the Marlins and is one of the safest plays of the entire season. We also have some budget pitching options, but are they worthwhile if you have to fade Scherzer in this match-up? The bats may be good enough, but Scherzer could break the slate as well. We will have to dive in head first and take a look at each position.

We're currently looking at seven teams with a projected total over five runs. There are going to be a ton of different pivots in tournaments and we'll dive in head first to find a few. In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/25/2019. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @VarneyDFS

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Max Scherzer - WAS @ MIA ($12,200)

It’s not hard to find your ace tonight. We have the best pitcher in the league facing the weakest lineup in baseball in a pitcher-friendly ballpark. The Marlins are projected to score just over 2.5 runs, which should tell you all you need to know. They strikeout 27% of the time and hold a collective wOBA of .269 vs righties. Scherzer on the other hand, is a model of consistently and doesn’t have any noticeable weaknesses to pick on. This Marlins lineup is also right-handed heavy, which is bad new facing off vs Scherzer. Against righties, Scherzer is striking out 13.36 batters per nine innings and has allowed just a .238 wOBA and 2.10 xFIP. Scherzer is as safe as he will ever be tonight and could go for an CGSO without anyone blinking an eye.

Andrew Heaney - LAA vs. CIN ($7,300)

If you want to be dangerous tonight, Andrew Heaney is about half the price of Max Scherzer. Heaney has been shaky in his last two starts, but predictably so as those are two of the worst match-ups he could have. Tonight, the Angels draw the free-swinging Reds into Anaheim. They rank 20th in baseball against lefties with a .301 wOBA and strikeout 22% of the time. Heaney on the other hand, is an 8-9 K/9 pitcher and has run into misfortune in each of his last two starts. His price has been lowered and he’s still the same pitcher that was getting to double-digit strikeouts three starts ago. The Reds are far from intimidating and Heaney should be able to keep them in check for five to six innings while he picks up the win and enough strikeouts.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

C/1B - Gary Sanchez - NYY vs. TOR ($4,400)

There are a ton of ways to go at first base here, but Gary Sanchez is the top raw option if money doesn't matter. Sanchez is ripping left-handers to the tune of a .405 wOBA and 57% hard contact rate on the season. The Yankees are facing off with Clayton Richard, who has been one of the worst pitchers in all of the league. The Yankees are the top offense on the slate and you almost have to have exposure here. If it's not Sanchez, Voit and Encarnacion are cheaper and elite options as well.

2B - Jason Kipnis - CLE vs. KAN ($3,000)

Second base is actually a lot more plentiful tonight than we're used to. We'll look at the best value of all in Jason Kipnis, who is still way underpriced on FanDuel at $3,000. He's finally dug himself out of the $2k's, but this is a guy who's hitting cleanup for an offense that's regularly putting up 5+ runs. Glenn Sparkman has been terrible in '19, posting a 5.26 xFIP while striking out just four batters per nine innings. The Indians are going to have a great chance at putting up some runs if Sparkman isn't able to strike anyone out. Kipnis works as a 1-off or as part of a team stack.

3B - Kris Bryant - CHC vs. ATL ($3,800)

We don’t have a clear distinction on the wind just yet, but these two teams are top stacks of the night if the wind is blowing out again. A simple 15 MPH wind in Wriglry causes all the difference. Either way, Kris Bryant is in play against a lefty in Wrigley Field. Max Fried is an up and coming youngster with a lot of potential, but he has allowed a .334 wOBA and 10 home runs in just 62 innings of work to right-handers. Bryant has a ton of upside at third base and shouldn’t be very popular with so many similar options priced in the same range. Bryant vs a lefty in Wrigley Field is a recipe for success. Watch out for the wind blowing out again and these Cubs will turn into the top offense of the night again.

SS - Xander Bogaerts - BOS vs. CWS ($4,000)

We haven't touched on the Red Sox up to this point, but they are firmly in play against Manny Banuelos and a poor White Sox bullpen. Bogaerts in particular, has sported a .400 wOBA against southpaws and has a lot more power against them. Banuelos has allowed a .390 wOBA and 5.62 xFIP to right-handers while giving up 2.70 HR/9. The Sox are expected to score close to six runs and Bogaerts will be sitting right in the middle of the order. He's fairly priced and I doubt he exceeds 15% owned.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Giancarlo Stanton - NYY vs. TOR ($4,200)

Giancarlo Stanton is the easiest play of the night. We've already touched on the Yankees and they have a bat you can play at almost every position. Stanton hit his first home run of the season last night and will now draw one of the worst left-handed pitchers in all of baseball. Against righties, Clayton Richard has allowed a .421 wOBA that's backed up by a 5.96 xFIP. He will now face the toughest lineup in baseball and I doubt he makes it out of the fifth inning. Stanton has posted a .431 wOBA to lefties since the start of 2017 and is going to do damage here. You won't find a lineup of mine without Stanton tonight.

Bryce Harper - PHI vs. NYM ($4,100)

The Phillies aren’t going to get much attention on this slate, but they definitely should against Walker Lockett. He made his first career start just last week and got mauled by the Cubs. This Phillies lineup is just as lethal and has weapons from 1-8 for a rookie with control problems. Bryce Harper has been tuning his swing of late and has posted a .371 wOBA to righties with power just waiting. The Phillies are another team with an 5+ run expectation, so they can be team stacked in tournaments as well.

Additional Option: Nomar Mazara- TEX @ DET ($3,600)
