Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (10/16/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hansons' DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 10/16/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks. Phew, MadLions looked good, Dominated their match against EG and Woro came out swinging. Heroic was down early but was able to make the comeback and win both their maps. Complexity looked awful as they were completely shut out the first map and then purely dominated the 2nd. OG looked good in that game today, unfortunately, niko decided to go off today and Aleksib held back. Tomorrow we have a couple of great games as Virtus Pro takes on Team Liquid and G2 gets what looks to be a hot MADLions team.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Saturday, October 16th, 2021, at 9:30, am

BLAST Premier Fall Showdown

Best of 3

  • G2 (-310) vs. MAD Lions (+225)
  • Virtus Pro (-105) vs. Team Liquid (-125)

Captain Plays

EliGE: EliGE has been stellar over the last month, he has 13 straight matches with a positive K/D differential and has an insane 1.31 K/D with a .84 KPR and a .64 DPR. I expect this game to stay competitive and therefore that can lead to more rounds for EliGE to crush. He is the type of player that even if his team is on the wrong side of the score, he is usually still one of the top fraggers. At 9k to is a very reasonable price to grab him at compared to the 10.4k he was at the other day. If TL is the route you are looking at going for your stack then EliGE is definitely the place to start, and probably one of the best captain options on the slate.

NiKo: NiKo sits atop the player pool for a reason, and even if I don't think G2 wins this match, I do still think it could be very close and probably will go three maps. Which is even better for a player like NiKo who can rack up large amounts of kills in a three map period. In their last game, he had 70 kills against Lynn Vision whom they did lose a map to. NiKo has positive matches in 11 of his last 13 some of those being +15 or better. Just in the last month of play, he has a 1.34 K/D with a .83 KPR and a .62 DPR. I think this match stays close, and that can mean a lot more kills for NiKo. Whether they win or not, I expect NiKo and Woro2k fighting to be top fragger in the entire match...

Other captain plays in order of preference: NAF, Jame, hunter, Woro2k

Value Plays

Woro2k: Originally, I was going to put Woro2k as a captain play, but he is cheap enough that he could be considered a value play as well. This slate is a difficult one as any team could come out on top of their matchup. Woro2k is probably one of the best plays on the board based on his price and his high volume. Just today he went for 52 kills on a +18 K/D differential in their sweep over EG. I think the oddsmakers are giving G2 too much credit based on their ranking. They haven't been playing up to standard and if anyone can expose that it is Woro2k. Over the last three months of play, he holds a 1.35 K/D with a .83 KPR and a low .61 DPR. We are getting some bang for our buck in this play for sure.

FalleN/Stewie2k: Both of these players are in great value spots. Both of them have also been playing great CS right now and at their prices of 6,200$ and 7,000$. Stewie has shown to be a bit more consistent so if you have the extra salary then I would start with him, but if you are on the lower end and looking for something a bit cheaper then I like FalleN. Both these players were top fraggers in the last game and if they can continue this level of play, we are looking at a couple of great value plays that DK may have messed up on the pricing a bit. Stewie2k has averaged a 1.07 K/D with a .69 KPR and a .65 DPR. As for FalleN, he has a 1.09 K/D with a .64 KPR and a low .59 DPR.

Other value plays in order of preference: Sausol (GPP), nexa, buster, JL(GPP)

Top Stacks / Team Picks

Team Liquid: This might have been one of the toughest picks in a long time regarding who I was going to feature as the Top Stack. I think G2 is being severely overrated by the odds, and I can see that match going to three maps or even MADLions pulling off the upset. Team Liquid looks to be in great form right now and I think they beat Virtus Pro more times than not. EliGE and NAF are looking to be very elite members of this team, Stewie2k has really stepped up recently as well. Fallen has shown to be a great AWPer as well and I have seen a definite improvement in his game. And Grim has his moments but is a great team player and rounds out this roster very well. If they can shut down Jame, I think they win this game for sure. EliGE's price is much more attractive now and so going him or NAF should be a great play. Stewie2k is a nice cheap price as well as FalleN.

Other stacking options: G2, MADLions (GPP)
