Mid-Week Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers for Week 11

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Thunder Dan Palyo looks at some mid-week waiver wire options for fantasy basketball leagues. These players may be free agents to target on waivers in Week 11.

Welcome back to Week 11 of mid-week Fantasy Basketball streamers. I wasn't able to get an early week post up on Monday due to some holiday plans, but I hope the first three days of the week treated you well and you've been able to navigate through the various injuries that are beginning to pile up in the association. We have a really solid, balanced finish to the week with six games tonight (we rarely get that on a Thursday), and then 9 games on both Friday and Saturday before a small New Year's Day slate of only three games on Sunday.

Most leagues limit how many players you can stream each week in daily leagues. If your league only allows three moves per week, you need to be very efficient with your moves and grab players who will help you maximize your games played and help you win an extra category or two of counting stats.

The goal of this article each Thursday morning will be to help you plan out your roster moves for the remainder of the week. By this point of the week, you should start to get an idea of what categories you may need help with and where your weekly opponent is the strongest and weakest (in H2H formats). If you're playing roto, you don't have to gameplan quite as much, but you'll still want to maximize the stats your team can accumulate during the week. All the rostered percentages used in this article are from Yahoo. Let's see who can help us finish the week strong.

Shallow League Streaming Options

Quentin Grimes - SG/SF (40%)

I'm not sure anyone saw 33 points coming from Grimes on Tuesday, but he was brilliant while the Knicks were without Jalen Brunson and nailed 7 triples in that game, logging 48 minutes out of 53 (the game went to Overtime). He's clearly Thib''s favorite player and going to continue to see heavy minutes, which makes him viable even as a low-usage player when Brunson returns.

Malik Monk - SG (39%)

Monk did it again, going off for 33 points last night in a clutch performance that helped the Kings pull off a win at home against the Nuggets. There are going to be some duds mixed in, but he's now flashed that huge scoring potential multiple times this season and his role is secured as the main scorer with the second unit.

Jeremy Sochan - PF (33%)

The rookie with the multi-colored hair has really emerged in San Antonio since returning from injury. Over his last five games, he's posted averages of 14 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.6 steals, and 1.0 blocks. His FT% is a bit of a weakness, but he simply doesn't attempt enough to really hurt you there.

Naz Reid - C (38%)

The Naz Reid experience continues to roll along while Karl-Anthony Towns is sidelined. Naz is back to playing solid minutes again, logging 25+ in three straight and anytime he plays that much he produces. He has two 20-10 games in the last two weeks and is a stud when it comes to points, boards, and blocks while also producing 1.0 threes from the center position. I am clicking his name right now as I write this and adding him to one of my H2H teams that I have built around efficiency.

Deep Leagues Streaming Options

Alec Burks - PG/SG/SF (21%)

In case you missed it, Killian Hayes just punched Moe Wagner in the head last night and is looking at a long suspension (we don't know how long yet). But Burks stepped in and dropped 32 points with 6 threes on 90% shooting from the floor. He's obviously a very one-dimensional player, but you'll take his scoring and efficiency on that much volume. He's going to see more minutes for Detroit for a while, even if he doesn't move into the starting lineup (and it's probably better he stays with the second unit for optimal usage).

Rui Hachimura - SF/PF (18%)

Holy Hach! I didn't expect this from Hachimura with Deni Avdija also returning to the lineup, but he's absolutely crushing it off the bench right now with the ultimate performance coming last night with 30 points against the Suns. With Gafford sliding into the lineup next to Porzingis and the Wizards playing big, Hach is now playing alongside Deni as a small-ball center with the second unit and he's feasting on opposing backup big men. Who knows if he can sustain it, but the returns so far have been tremendous.

Daniel Gafford - C (16%)

The experiment with Gafford starting alongside Porzingis is now three games old and it appears to be working for the Wizards as they have won three in a row, including a big win over Phoenix last night even without Bradley Beal. His minutes are still only going to be in the 20-25 range and he's constantly fighting foul trouble, but he's an elite rebounder and shot-blocker with regular run and deserves to be rostered in more than just 16% of leagues.

Kenyon Martin Jr. - SF/PF (12%)

K-Mart's kid gets the most run of any Houston bench player and has been a spot-starter for the Rockets on days when they rest Eric Gordon and his aging ankles and knees. He doesn't do much outside of score and rebound, but he's uber-efficient, shooting 55% from the floor while adding 0.9 threes per game, too. He's a perfectly boring, but potentially helpful streamer or deep-league stash.

Specialist Streaming Options

THREES

Georges Niang - SF/PF (3%)

I know I have featured Niang here before, but he's really established himself as a key member of this Philly rotation and is often one of the first guys off the bench and seeing some time with the starters down the stretch. His ability to stretch the floor and make shots is something Philly needs badly with Tyrese Maxey still out. He's played 23-28 minutes per game over his last four, and is a 44% shooter from deep, averaging 2.3 made triples per game. He's available nearly everywhere so grab him for the Sixers' B2B against New Orleans on OKC on Friday/Saturday.

STEALS

Delon Wright - PG/SG (10%)

The NBA league leader is steals per game at 2.6 per contest is finally healthy and back in the rotation for Washington. He has six swipes in his last two games and is incredibly efficient and getting them considering he's only playing about 19 minutes per game.

BLOCKS

Patrick Williams - PF (30%)

The Bulls haven't had Derrick Jones Jr. or Jevonte Green this week, and that's translated to two 40-minute games for P-Will. His scoring is uneven, but he has six blocks in his last four games and is now up to 1.0 blocks per game this season.
