FanDuel NBA DFS Core Picks

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - OKC - PG ($11,600)

SGA has been an absolute DFS gem this season, boasting elite-level usage rates and efficiency. He’s the engine of this Thunder offense, handling the ball on nearly every possession and creating opportunities either for himself or his teammates. Against a depleted Pelicans squad that struggles with perimeter defense, SGA’s path to dominance is clear. His usage rate hovering around 34% means the offense runs through him. Averaging 32.7 PPG with strong peripherals like assists and steals, which are golden in FanDuel’s scoring system.

The Thunder are 15.5-point favorites, suggesting they’ll control the pace. Even in a potential blowout, SGA tends to rack up stats quickly. His floor is rock-solid for cash games, but his ceiling is just as appealing for GPPs, especially if the Pelicans can keep it competitive.

Nikola Jokic - DEN - C ($12,800)

When it comes to DFS, Jokic is simply unmatched. His ability to contribute in every statistical category makes him slate-proof and there’s virtually no situation where he’s a bad play. Facing a weak Portland frontcourt that ranks near the bottom in defensive efficiency against centers, Jokic is in an elite smash spot. Averaging over 29.6 PPG, 12.7 RPG, and 10.3 APG, Jokic provides elite production in all categories and he's a triple-double threat every night.

Portland’s defense struggles mightily against skilled bigs, lacking the size or defensive schemes to contain him. Denver relies on him heavily, especially in tight games, ensuring big minutes even in potential blowouts. He’s your anchor for cash games, providing a safe floor with a sky-high ceiling. Pairing him with value plays can help balance out his hefty price tag.

Donovan Mitchell - CLE - SG ($8,800)

Mitchell has been lights out recently, and with the Cavaliers heavily favored against Minnesota, he’s set up for another big night. While the Timberwolves have a strong defense overall, they’ve shown vulnerabilities against dynamic scoring guards who can create their own shot. Averaging 24.0 PPG with the ability to go nuclear from deep, Mitchell thrives in high-tempo environments. Without consistent secondary playmakers, he often takes on a larger facilitating role, adding value with assists.

Mitchell plays with extra confidence at home, and the Cavs’ implied team total (119.5 points) suggests plenty of scoring opportunities. His price is a sweet spot—affordable enough for cash lineups while offering a ceiling worth targeting in GPPs.

Miles Bridges - CHA - PF ($8,400)

Bridges has been an underrated DFS asset all season. His versatility as a scorer and rebounder gives him a well-rounded fantasy profile. Going up against a Brooklyn defense that struggles against forwards, Bridges is positioned to feast. Averaging 19.9 PPG and 7.8 RPG, he rarely has a dud, making him a safe option. With LaMelo Ball’s status in question, Bridges could see an even larger offensive role.

Brooklyn allows the most FanDuel points to opposing forwards, struggling on the glass and in transition defense. Bridges is a perfect blend of floor and ceiling, making him viable in all formats. He’s especially valuable if injury news breaks in his favor, increasing his usage rate.

FanDuel NBA DFS Tournament Pivots

Damian Lillard - MIL - PG ($9,500)

With Giannis Antetokounmpo ruled out, Lillard becomes a prime GPP pivot thanks to a massive bump in usage and shot volume. The Bucks will rely heavily on his scoring and playmaking, making him a potential slate-breaker if he catches fire from deep. Without Giannis, Lillard’s usage rate climbs significantly, often pushing above 35%. Lillard’s a heat-check player and when he’s on, he can rack up 40+ real points in a hurry.

The Warriors struggle to defend dynamic guards, ranking in the bottom third against primary ball-handlers. They also play at a fast pace, which suits Lillard’s game. While his floor is volatile due to reliance on scoring efficiency, his 50+ FanDuel point ceiling makes him an elite GPP option, especially as others flock to more “safe” plays.

De'Aaron Fox - SAS - PG ($9,000)

Fox thrives in up-tempo, free-flowing game environments. Facing the Wizards—a team that struggles mightily against quick, explosive guards Fox is primed for a potential ceiling performance. Washington ranks near the bottom in defensive efficiency, especially against primary ball handlers, which aligns perfectly with Fox’s strengths. Fox’s blazing speed and first-step quickness make him a nightmare for opposing guards, especially against a Wizards defense ranked 28th in transition points allowed. He consistently takes 20+ shots per game, with strong usage in clutch situations and fast-paced matchups.

Fox has multiple 50+ FanDuel point games this season, showcasing his upside when his shot is falling and when he’s active defensively. Fox’s volatility makes him a classic boom-or-bust GPP target. He’s perfect for large-field tournaments where you need high-upside plays that can differentiate your lineup. If the game stays close, expect Fox to dominate both in scoring and peripheral stats.

Rui Hachimura - LAL - SF/PF ($6,100)

With injuries piling up for the Lakers, Rui has seen an uptick in both minutes and offensive involvement. His scoring versatility and rebounding ability make him an intriguing low-owned GPP play, especially if the Lakers dominate as expected. Rui’s usage rate jumps significantly when the Lakers are shorthanded, and he’s played 30+ minutes consistently in these spots.

The Jazz allow the 4th-most FD points to opposing forwards, struggling with physical players who can score inside and out. At $6,100, Rui doesn’t need a monster game to smash value, but he’s capable of 35-40 FD points if things break right. He’s not the flashiest name, but Rui’s combination of low ownership and upside makes him perfect for large-field tournaments.

Jordan Clarkson - UTA - SG ($6,200)

Clarkson is your prototypical GPP wildcard—capable of putting up 40+ FanDuel points when he gets hot. The Jazz are big underdogs, which often leads to Clarkson taking over offensively to keep games competitive. Clarkson plays with no hesitation, regularly taking 15-20 shots regardless of efficiency. In games where the Jazz are trailing, he often plays hero ball, increasing his scoring and assist potential.

Facing the Lakers, who play at a relatively fast pace, gives Clarkson extra possessions to rack up stats. He’s volatile and prone to inefficient shooting nights but when he’s on, he can single-handedly swing a GPP. Perfect for large-field contests where you need to differentiate your lineup.

FanDuel NBA DFS Value Picks

Naz Reid - MIN - PF/C ($7,600)

Reid’s price has been trending upward, but considering his current role and production, he’s still a bargain for DFS lineups. With Karl-Anthony Towns now in New York, Reid has stepped into a much larger role for the Timberwolves, seeing increased minutes and offensive responsibilities. His ability to stretch the floor with his shooting, combined with strong rebounding, makes him an elite value option.

He can score inside and out, offering three-point upside and solid rebounding numbers. Despite the mid-range price, Reid has 40+ FanDuel point upside, making him viable in both cash and GPP formats.

Keon Johnson - BKN - SG ($5,900)

With multiple Nets guards listed as questionable, Johnson is in line for a significant boost in both minutes and usage. His ability to contribute in multiple categories makes him a sneaky value play, especially if he cracks the starting lineup. If the injury news holds, Johnson could see 30+ minutes in an expanded role.

He doesn’t shy away from taking shots, which is exactly what you want from a low-priced GPP flier. He may go overlooked on this slate which makes him a perfect value pivot that can differentiate your lineups.

Richaun Holmes - WAS - C ($5,600)

Holmes is quietly one of the best low-priced centers on the slate. Facing the Spurs who struggle to defend the paint he has an excellent shot at exceeding value. Holmes is active on the boards, plays with high energy, and racks up defensive stats, which are a great plus on FanDuel. The Spurs allow the 4th-most FanDuel points to opposing centers, making this a very favorable matchup.

He has a great shot at a double-double in this matchup, especially if he plays 25+ minutes. His ability to block shots and grab steals boosts his ceiling without needing to score 20+ real points.
