FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (10/30/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

freddie freeman fantasy baseball rankings MLB injury news DFS picks

Kyle Ringstad highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 10/30/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Game 3 was very much a throwback affair as you don't see many MLB games ending 2-0 these days. The Braves had a combined no-hitter going into the eighth inning and wound up giving up just two hits in the ballgame, while the Astros allowed just two runs on six hits in the loss. Travis d'Arnaud and Austin Riley drove in the runs for the Braves in the third and eighth innings. Game 2 is set for 7:09 pm CT tonight, with veteran Zack Greinke taking the mound against a still-undetermined Braves' starter.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 10/30/2021. You can see our DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineup pick for the early slate here as well.

Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

Single-game slates are much different than classic slates on FanDuel. Pitchers are taken off the board entirely and only hitters are able to be selected in lineups. There are two multiplier spots: an "MVP" counting for 2x fantasy points and a "STAR" counting for 1.5x fantasy points. The player salaries remain the same regardless of the multiplier designation, which is the main difference from the way DraftKings sets up their single-game lineups. There are no positional requirements, either, so you have the freedom to select five outfielders if you want. These differences make for very distinct lineup-building strategies, and it's obviously critical to select the right players at the MVP/STAR slots.

MVP/STAR Picks

Freddie Freeman ($9,000)

Veteran Zack Greinke has given up an astonishing 16 earned runs over his last four starts. He has only made one start in the postseason, going just 1 and 1/3 innings pitched while allowing two earned runs and three walks. Freeman is 3-for-11 in the World Series, but he hasn't had that "explosive" game that we're all expecting out of him. This could definitely be the day as he has been hitting well and he'll get at least one at-bat against the vulnerable Greinke.

Kyle Tucker ($7,500)

Tucker has been hot all postseason long, hitting for the second-best OPS on the team at .883 and blasting four homers with 15 RBI. He posted his first donut since Game 1 of the ALDS last night, so his rostership may take a slight dip as a result. That'd be a mistake - he racked up at least 12.2 FD points in each of the three prior games. The Braves haven't named a starter, but Tucker is too cheap and is in too good a spot regardless.

Carlos Correa ($7,000)

The price on Correa here is absurd. He only has one hit and one RBI through three World Series games, but he's just as likely to pop off for a huge game as anyone on this roster.

Others: Jose Altuve ($8,500), Alex Bregman ($6,500), Yordan Alvarez ($9,500), Austin Riley ($6,000)

FLEX Picks

Adam Duvall ($5,500)

Duvall is one of the top value plays on the slate at this low salary. He has two homers over his last six games played, including one in Game 1 of this series. He may only see one at-bat against Greinke, but the veteran has allowed 22 of his 30 homers vs RHH's, and Duvall is certainly a slugger who can take advantage here.

Alex Bregman ($6,500)

Bregman wasn't exactly "right" all season, and that has certainly carried over to the playoffs as he's slashing just .250/.339/.333 with one homer and six RBI. That being said, he's still hitting in the third spot in the order for an offense that is loaded with productive hitters, so he's bound to figure into the mix one of these games. He's a talented hitter and getting him this cheap feels like stealing.

Austin Riley ($6,000)

Riley has hit a team-leading four doubles in this postseason and also has two bombs to his name. Three of those doubles have come in his last four games, so he's in great form coming in. He's a big-time slugger who can provide huge benefit as a value pick on this slate.

Others: Yuli Gurriel ($7,000), Eddie Rosario ($7,500), Dansby Swanson ($5,000)
