Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (4/13/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby's DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Early Morning Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 4/14/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello Esports enthusiasts and welcome back to our Esports coverage of CS:GO DFS! We have a great tournament set for us in the Blast Premier Spring Showdown as 16 teams face off to be crowned champion and take home a $30,000 prize! The day started really well as I felt good about the OG call and they ended up winning. I did say Astralis would win in my predictions because that was the safe route but with the mantuu pick, the more I looked at it the more I liked it. G2 swept as expected as NiKo routed them on the first map and Hunter did as well on the 2nd map. But then the day game to a halt as Team Liquid did not show up for work today and got absolutely plastered by Dignitas. My lineup was saved by the Rounds not played bonus but man, what could have been.

Today we get a chalk fest as Team Spirit takes on Extra Salt, The runner-up from the last tournament in Gambit takes on NASR, and lastly, we have Furia taking on MiBR! We have a lot to go over! So let's get right into it! Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on FanDuel and DraftKings for Wednesday, April 14th at 6:30 AM ET.

DFS Captain Plays

sh1ro: This dude is an absolute monster. Gambit may have lost 2-3 to Heroic in the ESL Finals, but sh1ro made a lasting impact dropping 123 kills and going +39 on the day. That is insane especially in a game against a great team like Heroic. The only thing I'm worried about when it comes down to this team and sh1ro is their price and the blowout potential. In a game like this one for example against TeamOne, Gambit won 32-10, and sh1ro still did have 41 kills and went +18. So something like that is doable but that price at 10.8k is tough to grab. If you can grab him, do it. If you can't get him as a flex at least because he is worth the money to get him. He is averaging 76.7 DKP per game right now. Ax1le and Hobbit are great pivots as well as they both have played well recently and are both averaging 60+ DKP. sh1ro has a 1.44 K/D and is averaging .77 kills per round and only .54 deaths per round as well.

degester: Since joining Spirit in January, Degester has gone positive in all but 2 games. The only two games he didn't go positive was against Gambit where he went -1 and -2. So in other words, this dude is really good at CS. Spirits last three wins, he has gone +25, +31, and +14. All with 40+ kills in sweeps. He is easily one of my favorite plays on this slate as he can break a slate with his explosive gameplay. He has a positive rating in 80% of his maps over the last three months, and a K/D ratio at 1.41 with .81 Kills per round and a minimal .57 deaths per round. Degester is someone I like as a big pivot from the Gambit chalk that is Imminent for this slate with them being -5000 favorites. Mir is also a great pair with Degester if you can get them both in.

Other captain plays: Ax1le, Hobbit, KSCERATO, mir, arT

DFS Value Plays

VINI: VINI looked pretty good in the ESL Playoffs, helping FURIA knock off both G2 and the big upset over Astralis. They lost to Heroic who went on to win the ESL Championship. Vini has been a little bit crazy with his production recently but I'm gonna ride the hot hand against a poor MiBR team that FURIA smacked last month. Vini is only 6,400 and went +23, +7, and +25 in FURIAs last three wins. I like to target Vini in games that I think FURIA plays well in because VINI when he gets hot, can lead the team to victory. He has a .98 K/D over the last months and is averaging .64 kills per round and .66 deaths per round. If he can get above even and help FURIA get the sweep then VINI should hit value very easily.

magixx: Magixx doesn't get recognized enough for his production on his team, he gets lost by having degester, mir, and sdy on his team. He has struggled against the big-name teams like Gambit and Astralis, but against some of the teams below Spirit, he has been fantastic including games of +10, +11, +26 in 3 of his last 4 games. This should be a win against Extra Salt, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a sweep either from Spirit. Magixx has a 1.07 K/D and is averaging .66 kills per round and .61 deaths per round. His price at 7k is just about where I would price him, and I think we are getting good value here. chopper is 1k less but I think we get more consistency and even a more explosive player out of magixx than we do chopper.

Other Value Plays: chopper, arT, junior, interz, Marke (GPP) Punt

Top Stacks / Team Picks

Gambit: This is going to be an absolute chalk fest, Gambit is such a big favorite that Bovada took down the spread odds for Gambit. This should be such a quick sweep that I'm actually worried about rostering them slightly with the chance of it being a blowout. But it's basically a free 60ish DKP. They are expensive though and it's going to be tough getting multiple players in. All of Gambit is in play, Interz is the only one Im hesitant on, but with there being a high chance of a sweep and blowout, you can't completely rule him out. My favorites are Sh1ro and Ax1le and from the looks at the pricing, it's DraftKings favorites too. Before their loss to Heroic in the ESL Tournament, Gambit was on a 10 game win streak with big wins over Astralis, FURIA, and HAVU. This is the No.1 Team in the world right now and if I'm being honest, I had to dive pretty deep to figure out who NASR is. And I'm not impressed. Gambit by sweep as expected.

Spirit: This team, is lowkey stacked. Degester and mir both have ratings of 1.25 or higher, and sdy and magixx both have a 1.07 or higher as well. chopper is really the only one that has struggled off and on and for him to also have a 1.07 rating is crazy. This is definitely a team on the rise right now and has moved up to 9th in the world right now. They even took Gambit to three maps. I think this team could make a run in this tournament as long as they don't encounter Gambit too early. They should be able to take care of Extra Salt here, Extra Salt hasn't played some big-name teams and that worries me about the competition level for them might be too high for them to handle, they are on a 10 game win streak though, so they can't be counted out. Mir and Degester are the places I'm looking for first. I like chopper for value, and I give the edge to sdy over magixx.

Other Top Stacks/ Teams: FURIA, MiBR(GPP)

Predictions

Gambit beats NASR 2-0

Spirit beats Extra Salt 2-0

Furia beats MiBR 2-0
