Perfect World Asia League - Summer 2020

  • ViCi vs Mazaalai
  • Beyond vs Invictus
  • TIGER vs TYLOO

CS:GO DFS Captain Considerations

kaze - $13,200 (c) - kaze comes into this series as the #1 rated player in the league coming into this 9th round of matches, with an event rating of 1.24. kaze is ViCi's sniper, which are always great picks for captain spots due to their propensity to be put in a position to get opening kills. kaze is also averaging an astonishingly low .56 DPR (deaths per round), which is a great stat to reference against any team, but when you see Mazaalai sports a team K/D ratio of .87 you almost have to wonder how are they even going to find kills against the hardest player to kill in the whole event. Don't be surprised if kaze finishes with a 2:1 K/D ratio.

flying $12,600 (c) - Invictus and Beyond faced off about three weeks ago, on June 21st, which saw Invictus take a 2-1 series win. In that series flying led both teams in ADR (92.3) and rating (1.18). In addition, he also led both teams in assists (27), but with only 4 of those 27 being flash assists, we know that he had 23 assists where he did significant damage to a player but just wasn't able to land the killing shot. Even if a few of those engages go his way (meaning more kills and fewer deaths), we could be talking about an even more impressive performance. Over the last 3 months, flying is rocking a 1.22 rating, which is actually the highest overall individual rating of anyone on the slate.

One other thing to note is that flying has a 1.23 overall rating on Inferno the last 3 months. Both teams are actually inclined to pick Inferno typically but in the last series Inferno was the decider map and the game ended up going to quadruple OT, giving flying the opportunity to finish the map 49-34 with a 1.52 rating! We can again expect Inferno to be involved in this series, which given his history on, flying could be due for another huge performance.

Other captain plays: JamYoung, dank1ng, Olivia

CS:GO DFS Value Plays

Attacker - $6,800 - Over the past 3 months Attacker is tied for the lead in rating on the league-leading TYLOO (1.17). We find him priced at only $6,800 after an uninspiring performance the last match against Lucid Dream. TYLOO and TIGER faced off 2 months ago on May 10th, and TIGER was able to take down TYLOO in that series 2-1 and Attacker had an okay series in general but did considerably better than 3 of the 4 other members. However, since that series, TYLOO and Attacker have only lost 5 of the 32 official maps they have played. TYLOO is clicking on a high level right now, and it feels like someone who contributes as much to their success as Attacker does should be priced considerably higher than this.

erkaSt - $7,600 - erkaSt is the leading man for the TIGER squad, leading them in rating (1.19), Kills Per Round (.79), and impact rating (1.23). At Perfect World Asian League this has only been magnified; with erkaSt leading TIGER with a 1.24 event rating and 2nd on the team is 1.14. In fact, the worst single map of the event for erkaSt was the first map of the first series, where he went -4 K/D. In fact, at this event he has the same number of maps finishing under 1 K/D as finishing +14 K/D or better (4).

In the last series that TIGER and TYLOO played each other in, erkaSt finished +12 K/D and a 1.19 rating. erkaSt is the only member of TIGER that seems to be matchup proof, and if TIGER is going to be successful in upsetting the best team in Asia once again it doesn't seem possible without a big performance from their star player.

Other value plays: aumaN, xiaosaGe, dobu, SLOWLY, kabal, nin9

Top CS:GO DFS Stacks

ViCi - ViCi is currently sitting in 2nd place in the league, and tonight they get their crack at the team in last. ViCi will be heavy favorites, and for good reason. ViCi currently has the 2nd highest team rating at the event (1.12) and assuming they are able to handle their business against Mazaalai this could shake out to be another convincing 2-0 for ViCi.

TYLOO - It is no secret that TYLOO should be considered the best team in the region. Given their status and hot streak I was pleasantly surprised to see their most expensive player at only $8,200. I actually think this series will go to 3 games since TIGER has shown to be capable of hanging with TYLOO, but I think that possibility makes for an appealing stack of TYLOO and this series in general. Depending on how you want to build your lineup, it's relatively easy to get stacks for just TYLOO or go all-in on the series.

Other stacks/teams: Out of the other 4 teams on the slate, I think TIGER is your best bet. Invictus and Beyond also seems primed to go 3 games after what happened last time these two squads faced off.
