Frank Ammirante's hitter fantasy baseball prospects to stash for Week 13 (2026). His MLB prospects to pick up and stash on your bench and N/A spots in redraft leagues.
We're now onto Week 13 of the 2026 MLB season. It's getting closer to that time of year when more prospects are called up to the big leagues. This makes finding prospects to stash even more important, so stay vigilant on the waiver wire to improve your fantasy teams. In this column, we're going to highlight five hitting prospects to stash.
Last week, we took a look at Luis Lara, Charlie Condon, Ralphy Velazquez, Blaze Jordan, and Jett Williams. As always, we'll switch it up this week to keep this column fresh.
This time around, we're looking at Joshua Baez, Kaelen Culpepper, Yohandy Morales, Seaver King, and Walker Jenkins. Some of these are recurring names on this list, while others are making their debuts in this column.

Joshua Baez, OF, St. Louis Cardinals
We continue to eagerly await the day when Baez is called up to the Cardinals, as we've highlighted him quite often throughout the season. But it's always good to check back in on how a prospect is doing.
Right now, Baez came into Thursday's action slashing .277/.343/.621 with 23 home runs and 12 stolen bases in 286 plate appearances. While strikeouts remain an issue (30.8%), that kind of power and speed upside is tantalizing in fantasy baseball.
The Cardinals' outfielder has been absolutely mashing at the plate lately, homering four times in a recent game and five times for the full week.

The Cardinals came into the year projected by many to finish last in the NL Central, but they're currently in 2nd with a 40-33 record, showing no signs of slowing down. This is a rebuilding team that has wildly exceeded expectations. On the one hand, that could mean that they may be patient with Baez. On the other hand, you could argue that Baez has the type of upside that would immediately add to this offense.
I'm on the more optimistic side of the argument. I'm expecting Baez to be called up soon, especially since he's been red-hot in the minors. We're starting to see the Cardinals bring up their young players from the minors, with Jimmy Crooks and Jordan called up recently.
If I have to put a date on it, I'd say that we'd see Baez called up by the All-Star break at the latest. When that happens, he'll immediately become a priority pickup in all formats.
Kaelen Culpepper, SS, Minnesota Twins
Like Baez, Culpepper is another familiar name on this list. To be honest, it's pretty surprising that the Twins haven't given him an opportunity in the big leagues yet. The 23-year-old shortstop is currently slashing .273/.377/.498 with 14 home runs and 15 stolen bases in 289 plate appearances. You have to love the plate discipline metrics, including a 12.8% walk rate and a 17.3% strikeout rate.
Simply put, there's not much left for Culpepper to prove in the minors.

The Twins are a rebuilding team, but they've actually played some good baseball lately, winning four in a row to put them at 36-40. They're now only 1.5 games back of the Blue Jays for the final wild card spot in the American League. But even with that, bringing up Culpepper could inject some life into their offense.
With Luke Keaschall having a disappointing season, it makes sense for the Twins to see what they have in Culpepper. I know I sound like a broken record here, as I've said this several times over the year, but it's only a matter of time before Culpepper is called up.
Keep a close eye on the waiver wire, as he could provide a nice floor for your fantasy teams, where he won't hurt you in batting average while contributing in power and speed.
Yohandy Morales, 1B, Washington Nationals
I've highlighted Abimelec Ortiz a couple of times in this article. Now it's time to check out another Nationals' first baseman. Morales is a 24-year-old who is absolutely mashing in Triple-A, slashing .328/.401/.569 with 15 home runs in 262 plate appearances. He's trimmed his strikeout rate from 28.5% to 24.8%, which is an encouraging sign of development at the plate.
These are numbers that warrant a call-up sooner or later, especially with the Nationals having opportunities on their roster.

At 24 years old, there's not much left to prove for Morales. The Nationals are another team that has wildly exceeded expectations so far. They're shockingly 39-36, currently tied for the final wild card spot in the National League. But bringing up Morales can provide another boost to a lineup that has surprisingly been one of the best in baseball.
It's hard to say when Morales will be called up to the big leagues, but I'd guess August 1st makes sense as a potential date. By then, it's likely that the Nationals will have fallen off, since their pitching is still so weak. That would mean they'd need to see what they have in their younger players.
Morales has the power upside to make him worth a look, especially in deeper formats.
Seaver King, SS, Washington Nationals
King was recently called up to Triple-A. So far, he's showing that he belongs, slashing .281/.330/.483 with four home runs and three stolen bases in 97 plate appearances. This is a polished hitter with 30+ stolen base upside.
While Nasim Nunez provides some speed for the Nationals, they would be wise to see what they have in King sooner rather than later.
It's so nice seeing Seaver King (WSH) bounce back in 2026. The newly turned 23-year-old has posted a 166 wRC+ across both AA & AAA with a .344/.429/.581 slashline to pair with 6 HR & 6 bags. He's had to be more passive this season as a result of seeing fewer in-zone offerings. pic.twitter.com/ClzOEAbEFh

While King doesn't have the same type of fantasy upside as others on this list, having a middle infielder who can provide a solid batting average while stealing some bases can be useful, especially in deeper leagues.
Keep a close eye on King to see if he continues to show improvement at the plate.
Walker Jenkins, OF, Minnesota Twins
Jenkins is a talented prospect, but he's taking some time to develop at Triple-A, where he's slashing .256/.396/.396 with two homers and five steals in 111 plate appearances. However, even with the lack of power, you have to be intrigued by the plate discipline, as highlighted by a 17.1% walk rate and a 16.2% strikeout rate.
This is a hitter who can eventually be a 25-25 threat at the big league level. After dealing with injuries, he's starting to look locked in at his rehab assignment.

Even though this is a player you likely won't see until September, when rosters expand, he's the kind of elite prospect worth paying attention to. Let's hope that Jenkins can stay healthy because he can make a major impact. The talent is there.
